dasiyboo I thinbk you may have been correct. Nice.

daisyboo · 15/06/2007 19:24

Glad you're ok BB

Have a good weekend ladies. We are still baby-mooning here...weather pretty much stopping us from going out, so we have been cuddling on the sofa and getting to know each other. More of the same planned for tomorrow, with a few trashy films thrown in for good measure.

Hope everone is OK!

Bouncingturtle · 15/06/2007 20:42

Awww Daisyboo, sounds wonderful!

Uki - glad to hear you are okay

Ejt - you sound like a proper yummy mummy now!

Firststar - I make it much more than 42, sleep while you still can!

Jossie - hope you are oka, sending you good vibes

Everyone else, hope the weather dries up and you all have good weekend. DH and I ae off to London on the train for a couple of days.

fettleandminifettle · 15/06/2007 20:50

Hi All

I've been neglecting you all.

Ejt - hair sounds divine!! DH will love it!!

Daisy - life sounds idyllic!!! I'm very !!!! can't wait for my turn!

Glimmer - no wonder you are tired, you've been through a lot, but have you been checked for anemia? I was totally shattered earlier on in this pg, but put it down to "just being pg", but then had phone call to say I was borderline anemic and put on iron tablets. Felt so great once I was taking them (although my digestive system took a battering!! hope all going well with DH overhere now!

How's everyone else doing? Haven't had a chance to catch up properly - have I missed anything major?

Off home for a very long weekend with DD tomorrow - dH is away for 2 weeks. Really looking forward to being "Mummied" for a while! And DD is so excited about see her granny!

Take care everyone.

lots of hugs
xxxx

ejt1764 · 16/06/2007 09:31

quickly popping on to say 'hi' ... and to let you know that dh likes the hair ... he did indeed say 'Wow!'

Mind you, to be a yummy mummy, don't I have to wear makeup and stuff? Don't think the crutches really fit the yummy mummy image!

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 09:46

Ha ejt...just wait till you've added sleep deprived bags under your eyes and milk stained jammies into the mix...you'll be bloody irresistable like me!!

ejt1764 · 16/06/2007 09:53

daisyboo - been there - done that - and came out of the other side: ds didn't sleep through the night until nearly 3yo!

that's one of the reasons we waited to try again for another lo ....

I got four and a half hours last night , but only cos DH fell asleep on the sofa with bub on his chest! Not complaining though, but here's hoping she isn't expecting more of the same tonight!!

got an infection in my wound though and am now on two different sorts of anti-biotics. One end of it hasn't healed at all and you can see the raw edges in places. It's been bleeding and weeping and smelly and has postponed my resumption of normal life as its too sore to walk around too much.

I'm going stir crazy in the house and need to get out and about soon before I go completely ga-ga!!

mad4girls · 16/06/2007 17:22

daisyboo- sounds like your suffereing alot hun hope dp/h is looking after you is he still on paternity leave, hope your feeling better soon, have you got other lo's at home too? hope your getting lots of help

PurpleLostPrincess · 16/06/2007 22:34

Hello all!

I completely empathise with the lack of sleep thing. It's getting so bad that DH is sleeping on the sofa for a few nights because he can't cope with me groaning all night (no, not THAT sort of groaning lol!). Every time I turn over (about every hour or so), I huff and puff and groan which keeps him up all night.

So, I got the whole bed to myself last night and I must say I did sleep a bit more as I wasn't as restricted as usual! I can't cope with not being able to cuddle up to him though . Either way, my hips still hurt all night though...

Glad your dh likes your hair ejt - sounds like you had fun!

Have been having some harrowing dreams lately (when I do get to sleep) - when do they stop?! I swear I can't wait to hold this baby in my arms...

Have a lovely weekend all!!! xoxo

Hello all, I haven't been on here in AGES. It just moves too fast for me these days.

I am 25 weeks now and really loving being pregnant. My libido has shot up through the roof so dp and I are super-close, my skin is really good and my hair is in good condition. I too am getting to the achey hips/multiple pillows in bed at night stage, but despite that, I do like being pregnant. So what with that and the sun shining I am feeling quite happy with my lot these days. Sorry if that sounds too saccharine and smug for those of you on crutches or really suffering from SPD at the moment.

From having a really quick scan down the thread I am really glad to see that there are new people arriving and I can't see any sign that anyone has miscarried so this seems to be a really positive thread recently, which is brilliant. It's good also to see that others are clocking up the weeks and moving up past the 12 weeks marker point.

I spent about 3 hours researching slings on the internet last night...getting completely overwhelmed with the choice.

PurpleLostPrincess · 17/06/2007 12:07

Hi rubles, lovely to see you and glad things are going well for you!

I'm struggling with trying to get across to people that I really do love being pg despite all the ailments I'm suffering from! So many people (especially at work) say 'how are you?' and I've started saying 'I'll get there!' because I don't want to say 'I'm OK' as it would be a lie, but then I don't want to spend five minutes moaning about all the things I'm suffering with, looking most ungrateful!

I really do love having this baby inside me and need to appreciate it as much as possible, especially considering my past experiences. I know it will all be worth it in the end, I just hope that other people don't think I'm a whinger! Then again, I don't care what other people think.

Now I'm babbling and kicking myself! Please ignore me and carry on about your business

rubles · 17/06/2007 14:43

Oh my, I have just read back on my post and I sound awful...I meant to say:
"Sorry if that sounds too saccharine and smug for those of you on crutches or really suffering from SPD at the moment, it sounds really tough, you have my sympathies".
I think my gushing was me just wanting to express my gratitude for being 25 weeks pregnant.

PurpleLostPrincess · 17/06/2007 19:55

rubles, not awful at all! It's really really lovely that things are going well and that you're feeling great - I didn't take it as smug at all and I'm sure the others didn't either! You gush away, I think its great. In fact, I've read through yours and then mine and realised that I was having a right moan and that it could look like I was reacting to yours but I really wasn't at all.

I had a great pg with my first two apart from a bit of tiredness and a few small ailments, I felt on top of the world most of the time! Shout it to the world if things are going well and we will rejoice with you!

Mumpbump · 18/06/2007 10:51

Morning all!

Daisy - so sorry to hear that you have an infection... My episiotomy got infected last time - tip to all : do not apply arnica cream directly to an open wound - and it was hell. I could not move for about 3-4 days until my m/w came and cut some stitches. You have my sympathies...

Rubles - I'm dead jealous... Also 25 weeks, feeling pretty good on the whole, have increased libido, but knackered dh... Keep eye-ing up all and sundry at the moment!

Princess - I'm having horrid dreams too from time to time. I dreamt I got raped whilst pg over the weekend which wasn't much fun. It's wierd how those hormones can affect you, isn't it?

Firststar - the best advice that I read in the few parenting books I did manage to read was to keep in mind that everyone's household is different and what suits someone else's doesn't necessarily suit you - very useful when ds was up all evening with dh and being put down for the night at midnight and you keep hearing about how "all" babies go to bed at 7pm. Utter bllcks in my humble opinion. Also, keep in mind that even if you feed your baby to sleep (or whatever), it will sort itself out in time. I remember worrying about how whatever I was doing was going to impact on ds for the rest of his life - slight exaggeration, but ykwim - and this advice made me realise that it's not worth winding yourself up in knots too much about what you're doing with your baby at this age. We cuddled ds to sleep every night for the first two months and will probably do the same with no. 2...

EJT - you sound like quite the glamour puss! Glad your dh was appreciative...

Fettle - have a nice time at your mum's. I am sure it will be very welcome pampering at this stage of your pg...

Glimmer - hope that your m/w appointment goes well and that both you and dh get to hear the hb... Looking forward to hearing about it later...

Hi to everyone else and hope you're all well! Had a busy weekend with Father's Day yesterday. We took the children out to Zizzi's in the evening and ds was really pretty well behaved. We had to keep telling him to sit down in his highchair, but he actually complied which was amazing!

fettleandminifettle · 18/06/2007 10:57

Hi All

Hope all ok.

Firsty - you'll be a great mother - if you're as caring and thoughtful about your LO as you are about everyone on these threads, then you'll be the best Mum in the world. It's completely normal to be having these thoughts now - they don't come with baby manuals attached to the umblical cord (wish they did, but they don't). Just as long as you remember that you're their mother, you know best and although you should listen to advice from around you (and they'll be loads, this included!!!), you don't have to pay any attention to it, if you feel what you are doing is right for you and your baby!
Also, don't worry about bf! If it works, it works, if it doesn't you're not a failure, it just wasn't right for you. Only I'd say is keep at it as long as you can - it took a good 4 days before DD was feeding properly and the hospital MWs kept trying to top DD up with formula and frightening me that I was harming her by not feeding her and kept taking blood from her to check her blood glucose, but I was so determined and knew if they started topping her up, she'd never be hungry and wouldn't want to breastfeed. Finally my milk came in and she starting successfully and then I couldn't get her to take a bottle until she was 9 months old!!!! Just to warn you it can really hurt at times, but perservere as it is only temporary!

You're so close now, that it is bound to start feeling really real now! Keep looking after yourself and moan on here as much as you like, as I know what it's like in real-life, best just to say all is ok!!

Rubles!! Great to hear from you, was getting a bit worried! Fantastic that you are feeling so good. I can't believe that we've got to 25 weeks either! Still feels like ages to go - I've still got 10 weeks left at work, although I'm taking a few days off this week. Feel like I'm skivving, but really enjoying not being in the office. DD is being spoilt by my parents, but we've exhausted them already!! and only been here 2 days!

I have to say that other than the pelvis pain and the knock-on effect on sleep patterns, and not being as agile as I would like to play with DD, I too am feeling great. I keeping being told how well I'm looking (which makes the pessimist in me think - do I normally look awful?, that people comment on me looking well, but I think I obviously just look extra well at the moment - Blooming!!!). Just makes the pelvis more frustrating as otherwise I would feel absolutely fantastic and I don't really remember feeling this great while pg with DD!

Mad4girls - tooth sounds sore - hope it gets better soon.

Daisy - I'm sorry you've got an infection that must be pulling you down quite a lot emotionally and physically. I hope all the cuddles are making up for it!

Anyway, must go and play with DD - she's got all our old Fisher Price toys out - all the best ones, the garage, planes etc. They've lasted so well - over 37 years now, as they were my sister's first - they don't make toys like that anymore!!! Help - I'm sounding old!!

take care everyone

xxx

Sorry - crossed with you Mumpbump - glad to hear all well with you too!

Glimmer · 18/06/2007 12:18

Good morning everybody!

We had some very interesting and serious posts here in the last days. We are getting really close friends here, aren't we? I have to admit that I have somewhat neglected my RL friendships, because everything that really touches me these has to do with pg and coping with my history and I feel my RL friends just can't follow me there (either they don't have children or had sailed through their pregnancies). But it is a lot asier since DH is here I so enjoy his presence! - Although there is clearly also some re-adjusting to do we have lived apart now for more than 2yrs! And new house if finally coming together!

Thanks for your suggestion Mumpbump -- I also have been wondering if I might be aenemic, although my circumstances would warrant the exhaustion. I am pretty got at spotting it in others and have checked my apperance (redness of lips, etc) and couldn't detect anything. I do not think I was ever checked for it - or do they check and not tell you? Will ask IM tonight.

Oh and have finally told my boss, after my friend spotted bump. I thought if things go wrong at the 20 week scan next week, I will be sick for weeks anyway, so he might as well know. He took is allright. I had him months ago that I plan on leaving next summer (DH could only get leave for 1yr!) so we will be moving back next summer (have job in Colorado lined up), so I was already cut out a little and won't make a big difference. The funny thing is I really don't care about my job anymore and don't know if this is permanent or homeone induced.

Sorry for the all-about me post....

Hi Rubels!
Basil -- take it easy!!!! The exhaustion hit me only after the move!
