Hello everyone.

I haven't posted for a while, as I've been more active on the October thread...but just to let you know - I am not neglecting you and I am still trying to keep track of how you are all doing.

I had my 20-week scan today. All looks fine, and I am going to have a boy. I am very happy.

I just wanted to say this to give all of you some hope. I remember how - during the first trimester - 20 weeks looked really really far away.

Good luck to all of you, welcome to all the newbies and those returning (Taichimum, hi!! I remember you well - good to see you back).

Hi Taichimum -- welcone and congratulations! I am so happy to hear about your BFP! Kept thinking of you once the women on the limbo thread were not in limbo anymore... Hope that all will go well and welcome in our midst!

Firststar and MrsMcJ -- colleage is a friend and she didn't mean to do any harm, just spotted bump (and/or general fatness) and asked. She won't blab, but I wonder if she spottet it, who else will. She is sensitive woman and don't know about spot-capability of
men alias boss, but still don't know. Bosses wife lost one many years ago, so I think he will understand why I don't want to tell earlier, but he won't be happy with me leaving for 20 months!

EJT -- if you prefer to work then its ~&£^% to be written sick. I guess could so with some days off right now, so I might be been more talking about myself... So sorry you are in so much pain.

Hello Gemma and congrats on your scan!

Glimmer · 08/06/2007 16:07

Well, I raelly should take some time off:
20 weeks that is -- I wish I'd get 20 months!

Uki -- hello and welcome after the conference. You you have a relaxing weekend and hear more from you soon.

Furrymummy · 08/06/2007 16:18

Hey everyone, feeling better today no more discharge. So a bit relieved, but still nervous about upcoming scan (only 4 days to go!).
Gemma - congrats!!
EJT - are you going to get signed off sick then? Seems like your physio thinks you should!
MrsMc - hi!!
Bella- how you doing hun?
Glimmer - I too think your colleague was rather rude! Must be exciting feeling thos first movements, can't wait!
Hi to everyone else!

Glimmer · 08/06/2007 16:49

Rubles -- are you still out there? How are you doing?

Mumpbump · 08/06/2007 17:04

Glimmer - I told my management, but was trying to avoid telling anyone else until after the 22 week scan. Most people had guessed before then. If your boss is a bloke, he might not have, but if female, woman's intuition and all that - I'd tell them, in strict confidence. If you're at this stage and feeling movement, you've got as good a chance as any of lasting the distance, iyswim...

Taichimum - hello!! I remember you from the October thread, I think! So pleased for you

Have to leg it shortly. Have been very productive today and done lots of work, very little MN and feeling rather pleased with myself for being a model employee, rather than internet surfie!! Anyway, hope everyone has a FAB weekened - weather is looking good!!! Take care all and will try (and no doubt fail) to catch up on Monday!

ejt1764 · 08/06/2007 17:22

Hi furry - glad you're feeling more positive - hang on in there!

I have in fact been signed off sick anyway - I went to see dephead to ask to work at home on Wednesday as I wasn't teaching, and (to cut a long and involved story short!) was asked to go and see GP to discuss options as work is not a safe place for me to be.

I have made it clear that I'm happy to be contacted and to do my usual end-of-year stuff - orders, assessment levels, reports, staffing, general head of department stuff ... they seemed to be happy with that.

Glimmer - wouldn't it be lovely to have 20 months maternity leave? [sigh] ... as for being outed, I'd tell your boss now anyway, just to make sure you're covered health & safety wise (although, does this cover you if you're on a non-uk contract?)

Well. I'm now an Avon lady ... ding dong!

ejt1764 · 08/06/2007 19:44

Just spotted this from Daisy ... came over all teary!

daisyboo · 08/06/2007 19:49

Hi guys....was about to link to my birth announcement, but ejt has beaten me to it!

Home and feeling well, if a little sore. Emily is delightful and feeding like a monster, but sleeping for 4-5 hours at a stretch which is great for me to catch up on my Zzzzzzzzzzzzs.

Off to catch up on all the news since Monday....back later!

fettleandminifettle · 08/06/2007 20:17

Hello all

sorry not been on much - hope all is well here.

Probably good you've been signed off work EJT - hope this weather holds for you. Iwouldn't worry about anything, the most important thing is the little baby you are growing. And we've still got a fair way to go yet!

Welcome back UKI, glad conference went well - you must be exhausted - hope DH will let you rest lots this weekend!

Welcome Basil - good to see you here - you'll get lots of support from these lovely ladies!

Rubles, hope all ok, not heard from you in ages.

Glimmer - new flat chaos! I hope it all sorts itself out soon - are you still enjoying having DH with you. Bit annoying about being outed, but you've done pretty well to have got to 18 weeks without anyone noticing! You've got no legal reason to tell work until week 25, when you have to confirm mat leave plans (assuming you're office is follows UK guidelines!). i have until Friday to make my mind up when I'm stopping.

Daisy - great to hear from you - Emily is a lovely, beautiful name, for what sounds like a beautiful girl! I hope she continues to feed and sleep well - there is really not much more you can ask for is there!! hope the pain isn't too bad and you recover from the C-section as quickly as possible.

Hello everyone else, Furry, Mump, Mrs, Firststar - and everyone else I've missed cos I'm pg and my brain is like mush!!

All well here - very tired, but very busy at work. Will ask to be double-checked for anemia again when I see GP next week (MW cancelled my appointment, so i have to see GP instead!). Hips very sore, with SPD, but other than that still feeling great, so hope that lasts a bit longer still! No sign of obstetric cholestasis yet, but shouldn't be for another 6 weeks yet, if I am going to get it.

take care all
xxx

Just been catching up with events since Monday....

welcome to all the newbies, hang on in there and try to stay positive. I'm the most recent proof that good things come to those who wait, and can't believe that after all the heartache, I finally have my beautiful LO.

Especially big congrats to Taichimum...I hope that things go well for you this time, and appreciate that this month will be quite tough for you. Take care and take it easy and my fingers and toes are crossed for you

I probably won't be posting as much on here from now on in, but will keep dipping in to keep up with the news......Thanks for all the support I've had on here and the very very best wishes for everyone over the next few weeks and months

I'm actually thinking we may need a "Baby after MC" post-natal thread so that we can keep in touch, as you guys have figured a huge part in my pg consciousness over the last eight months and I think I would have cracked up completely if I hadn't had the support of this thread and it seems weird that I won't be talking to you guys on an almost daily basis. (oops sorry, fourth day baby blues well and truly kicking in, apologies for my blatant hormonal outburst )

Later ladies and keep well!!

RoseQuartz · 09/06/2007 21:01

Hi Everyone.................hope its alright for me to join in here???
I am on an emotional roller-coaster as just found out I am pregnant this morning!
This, if all goes well, will be dh and I's 7th child......so I bet you're wondering why we are so stressed about it?
Well, the first 5 children were all born around their due dates, however, something went seriously wrong when I was pregnant with our 6th baby as my waters broke at 27 weeks and he was born just over a week later at 28 weeks and 3 days.............which obviously meant us being transferred to specialist hospital for prem babies, and he was in intensive care for a week or so, then transferred to special care unit for the remainder of his 10+ weeks in hospital. Glad to say he is over a year old now and is fine, thank god for that!
But what has made matters worse is the fact that I did conceive last year as well but miscarried in August at around 6-8 weeks or so, cannot be specific as started bleeding on 6th august and carried on right through to 27th august.
I was desperate for another baby, it was so upsetting to have yet another period each month we tried since the miscarriage, and now that it's finally happened, I am sick with worry in case it all ends in tears again. I know there's nothing I, or anyone else can do about it, but even so, I can't just 'switch-off' and relax into the situation and enjoy the wonder of pregnancy once again. Is there anyone else here who has been or is going through same experience. It would be lovely to know how you got on/are getting on? thanks xx

daisyboo · 09/06/2007 21:28

Hi RoseQuartz......congratulations on your BFP and sorry to hear of your MC and your LOs early arrival!. But No7...wow, I take my hat off to you!

We've all been through it to greater or lesser degrees and this thread has been a lifeline, especially when RL doesn't understand your anguish. fell free to vent, moan, cry, burst with joy all over this thread, and we will try to keep your worries in perspective.

I've just had my LO after two previous mcs and would have foundered without support from this thread.

wishing you all the luck in the world and an uneventful pg

BellaBear · 09/06/2007 21:48

can anyone help - am panicking (sp?)

you know the feeling when you realllllly have to wee, your bladder feels really pressured? Well, I know it is normal in pregnancy to get that and to go to the loo and not actually wee that much. But then after I've been the feeling continues for a few minutes and is quite painful. Anyway, is it normal or odd?

tess01 · 09/06/2007 22:33

sorry to butt in, RoseQuartz i feel that same worry, my second was a prem baby and third pg ended in mc. As hard as it is try not to worry and take care

plummymummy · 10/06/2007 08:32

bella you might have a urinary tract infection eg cystitis which is common in pg. Keep an eye on it as they can get nasty and sometimes you need anti-biotics. You can get otc preparations but I've never found them to work. Drink plenty of water to flush out the kidneys. Cranberry juice good too.

BellaBear · 10/06/2007 09:58

It's not hurting when I'm weeing, just after. And the hurting is that pressure you feel when you really need to go. Then it goes away.

plummymummy · 10/06/2007 10:30

Could still be a UTI

Uki · 10/06/2007 10:51

Hi Again
thanks for all the welcomes back, I now have lots of time to focus on mn

Although after 4 days straight entertaining and hosting guests. Guess what i just did, entertained again!!!!

I must be mad, but just had a great party for ds who is 2. All went really well, so much fun, it was a thomas themed party, for my little train fiend. He got so spoilt. I don't think I'll have another party till this baby is two though, too much work but fun.

Rose- welcome I am in awe 7th child congrat's, how fantastic, try not too worry, remember your track record apart from last dc's early arrival is good, you can do it again. How old are all your dc's and how many girls and boys????

Bella -drink lots of water, i get this too, sounds like cystitis, cranberry juice is also excellent for this keeps urinary tract healthy.

Taichi- yayyy CONGRATULATIONS and welcome back hope all goes well

BellaBear · 10/06/2007 12:21

I'll see the doctor next a week on monday so I'll check it out then. Thanks for all responses!
