I bet you are on cloud nine

MrsMcJnr · 05/06/2007 16:12

Thanks ladies going to attempt to catch up now

plummymummy · 05/06/2007 16:54

4got to tell you all that I had a scan yesterday. Too early to see heartbeat or fetal pole but good sac, yolk and trophoblast present. Re-scan in 2 weeks. At least it is not ectopic.

ejt1764 · 05/06/2007 16:56

fab news MrsMc!

great to hear about Daisy too!

I am in agony today - asked if I could work from home tomorrow morning as I'm not teaching ... answer was a straight 'no' Apparently it sets a precedent - how many pg people suffering with spd and coccyx pain are there where I work? Hmmm ... one - and that's me!
I got quite cross and pointed out that I'm busting a gut to even be there - and dephead (yes, her again) went to speak to the boss - he's agreed that I can work from home tomorrow - but they are now saying that they don't think it's safe for me to be at work at all. They've asked me to go to see GP to discuss it with her.
I think I'm going to have to resign myself to the fact that that's basically it where me and work are concerned!
I'll let you know what the doc says - have managed to book an apt for 9am tomorrow (my surgery has online booking - and I got the last available apt for tomrrow am)
Going to turn in early tonight - am in real pain, and still can't take anything as I'm still throwing up lots of things - paracetemol being one of them ... somebody at work suggested I ask for suppositories (nice!)

Have a good evening everybody.

ejt1764 · 05/06/2007 16:56

great news plummy!

MrsMcJnr · 05/06/2007 17:13

Good point Beckle ? where is Pecka? glad all is good with her though (thanks Cazzy )

BellaBear, hi and welcome! Congrats too! IKWYM about jinxing it by telling people, I have told very few people this time although I found out yesterday that a friend I told in confidence has told another friend who I specifically asked her not to tell! The friend she told has a bit of a big mouth and has already gone round telling people so now we need to work out who she might tell who might be offended that we didn't tell them so we can let them know, wanted to keep it quiet for a couple more weeks really just to get past the 'danger' bit. Anyway, sorry for waffling but I hope your pg is very boring and smooth!
MrsMcJnr, good luck this morning with your scan hun, hope you see that HB and the news is all good!
Hi everyone else I haven't mentioned

Mumto3girls ? I feel for you, it is so hard. My EPU don?t seem to like to do blood tests. There have been times for me when I think they would have really helped me rather than have left me in the limbo of scans alone did. How are you bearing up?

Plummy have discarded the thermometer now but my temps did go back to normal on Sat, Sun and Mon so I think I did the right thing resting up my nephews were lovely little one is really still a baby himself (only 1+1 ) My sister gave me all her mat clothes too How are things with you? When?s your scan? I have to say, whilst I wished I?d seen more at the first scan (5+6) it was a relief to know that things were in the right place. I guess it is just a question of taking little steps! Must make you feel better that you are now further than you were before

Hello Jenswish

Thanks Uki I hope you are not working too hard. how awful about the sonographer?s mistake? Did you manage to keep both tubes?

Hi Firsty

Hey Mad4girls ? sorry you are having a rough time it does seem that people?s symptoms come and go. I tend to feel sick when I lie in and my blood sugar drops, I?m fine if I eat my breakfast at 6.30 having got up at 6.15. Hang in there no 20 week scans here after my dating scan, that is officially it Sorry not to be able to offer any advice on private scans. My sis was saying yesterday that all her friends with girls were sick and those with boys weren?t, she wasn?t and has 2 boys ? you never know!

Daisy ? you still hanging in there? all the very best to you, I hope it all goes really well!

Furrymummy ? hello! Cold disappeared now thanks ? I think the rest day helped how are you? Are you taking it easy at work?

Hello Glimmer

Oh Bella that is fabulous my friend! Congratulations! just take each day as it comes hon. Re telling people, you have to go with your gut (and that can change from day to day) I?m operating on a needs must basis, I don?t want to lie to people but if I want to pull out of things, I want to be able to do that too so we have told some people when we?ve felt we?d prefer to.

Jules how are you doing?

Ejt poor you!! That sounds painful!

Hey Fettle that?s sweet about your bump!

Have to go ? catch up tomorrow!

becklespeckledfrog · 05/06/2007 17:37

Well Big congrats to Daisy! Hope it all went well, looking forward to hearing from you again! Lovely name too, was my Gran's name and I love it.
Plummy, glad everything in the right place, hopefully next scan will show everything getting on fine! It is frustrating to wait but a scan in 2 weeks will show so much more than one in a weeks time would. I have considered a private scan in the last few weeks to reassure myself but I know I would just start panicking a day later again so a waste of money really!
MrsMc, am soo pleased it went well for you today! You seem to have a chunk of my post stuck in the middle of yours though! I was reading it and thinking 'Ooh, how strange! MrsMc has a friend who has blabbed too!' then I realised... hehe! Do you think you will have a private scan done at around 20 weeks for reassurance? I think in some ways it is more important than the dating scan as it checks for all sorts of things (although I do think both are important). NHS cutbacks make me cross!

becklespeckledfrog · 05/06/2007 17:40

Ooh, almost forgot - Ejt, a friend of mine had SPD and she had to be signed off work from about 16 weeks because of it. She didn't have crutches but they did make her wear a support belt all the time. I did not know about it until she got it but it does seem to be quite a common condition. How would you feel about being signed off for the rest of your pg? Doesn't sound like you get a lot of support at your school.

MrsMcJnr · 05/06/2007 18:17

Sorry Beckle my secret is out I use word to respond to you all and then post it on here so that is how I had some of your post in mine

I'm in an internet cafe now so can't rely on word

Wonderful news for Daisy !!!

Plummy - what a relief hon day by day, that's all we can do!

Ejt - I do really feel for you hon, you need to take the best care of yourself and your LO

Hello Mumpbump

Mad4girls - I am so pleased that you feel much better today

BellaBear · 05/06/2007 19:10

MrsMcJnr - it's funny, both times we got pregnant at about the same time (I remember your announcement as the first thing I replied to). Here's to success for everyone.

MrsMcJnr · 05/06/2007 19:22

Bella let's hope we have lots more good similarities hon!

becklespeckledfrog · 05/06/2007 19:54

What a good idea MrsMc! I usually end up reading through the posts, making notes and then scrolling up and down the thread to check as I am typing the notes up!

Congratulations Daisy no more bump!!

Juicylucytoo · 05/06/2007 21:53

Hi Girls,

Very for you MrsMC. Great news.

Very of Daisy, but happy for her too.

Just wish Pod would make an appearance. I'm 41 weeks and have until Sunday for him to arrive of his own accord in planned home birth, otherwise its hospital + induction
Cross your fingers for me girls. x

Firststar - aren't you due soon??
Good luck everyone else for a healthy pg.

StrangeTown · 05/06/2007 22:03

Hello All,

Great news about the scans Mrs and Plummy- everything where it should be!

Congrats to Daisy too - how exciting.

Welcome to Bella - hope everything goes well!

Ejt - work sounds a nightmare - hope you feel better soon and that you can sort something out with them.

Got my 16 week scan next Monday, I really look forward to getting these milestones out of the way...

Hello to everyone else!

plummymummy · 06/06/2007 09:33

Hi everyone. Hi bellabear - we were on the same thread before - might have been the hut of doom? Congrats on your bfp Congrats to anyone I've missed too. Ejt - your school is v unsupportive I struggled into work with spd when pg with ds so I know exactly how angry you must have felt. It's also annoying when you are willing to work and they are saying you shouldn't. Doesn't it cost the school more if you get signed off sick than if you work from home from time to time (if not teaching)? I told my boss yesterday as I have appts etc and didn't want him thinking I was taking the piss. Anyway, I don't think he's overly impressed - probably wondering how the ward will be staffed given that we run on a skeleton service as it is. I am surprised that you and fettle were advised to swim. My physio advised against it as she said anything you do that is not symmetrical will exacerbate the problem. I went anyway as I didn't want to be an unfit fat blob (just a fat blob)and boy did I regret it. I had searing pain for the rest of the week. Great news Daisy - well done

BellaBear · 06/06/2007 09:37

Hello plummymummy! Yes, I think it was TTC March or April (I gave up on those boards in April, I couldn't keep up at all - stuck to TTC your first baby from then on). I did dip into the Hut once or twice as well.

Mumpbump · 06/06/2007 09:57

Morning all!

Congratulations, Daisy! Love the names. I wanted to call this one Isabelle if it turns out to be a girl, but dh's best friend's daughter is already Isabelle...

EJT - your employers are absolutely amazing in every worst sense of the word. I take it you will be considering very seriously whether or not to go back at the end of your maternity leave?

Strangetown - almost 16 weeks already! Blimey... At least you're past the most dangerous bit so fingers crossed for next Monday. Is it a particular scan? I thought dating/nuchal fold were usually around 12/13 weeks...

Juicylucy - I had an induction and it wasn't too bad. Make sure you ask whether you can be monitored on an intermittent basis so that you can keep mobile... Here's hoping the lo will arrive of its own accord by the end of the week anyway though!

Plummymummy - so pleased that you also got a positive result! How laid back are you, hey, that you forgot to mention your scan - only the second most important thing for reassurance during pg after the birth itself!!

MrsMcJnr/Beckle/Firststar - you lot are so amazingly organised in answering all the posts. I think I might try taking a leaf out of your book... But then, that might go against my slightly make it up as you go / haphazard way of existence...

Hello to everyone else! Hope everyone is doing okay today. I felt really awful leaving ds at nursery this morning. He's had funny spots for the last week or so, now has a cold, fell over yesterday and didn't manage to get his hands out so has a huge graze and bump on his forehead and was ultra-clingy this morning. The helper carted him off with him looking over her shoulder with one arm outstretched towards me - very Titanic-esque... Can't wait to be at home with him, even though I'm sure it will be, erm, "challenging" from time to time!!

plummymummy · 06/06/2007 10:04

LOL mumpbump - think it was more that I had posted on a few threads simultaneously and forgot to post it on this one I'm really not that laid back!

ejt1764 · 06/06/2007 10:26

Well, have been to see the doc - and she's signed me off for 4 weeks.

School have talked about doing a h&s review - but nothing has actually happened. TBH, I think I'm better off now - hopefully.

Just sorting out some work for my classes - will be back later to chat!

MrsMcJnr · 06/06/2007 10:31

Thanks Firsty

Juicy ? thanks hon let?s hope pod gets a move on, thinking about you a lot and dying to hear that you?ve popped (on your own accord!) hope it goes well hon

Hi Strangetown ? all the best for Monday

Plummy ? hello!

Morning Bella

Hey Mumpbump ? poor ds they do get in the wars though don?t they!

Feeling low I don?t mean to be negative and I apologise in advance but I feel that my reassurance was a little short lived because I began spotting last night I was so tired so pretty irrational with it and I totally freaked out. My DH was trying to calm me down and said all the things to me that I would say to someone else in my position but it is still getting me down. It?s the same this morning ? still there, plus I am even more exhausted because I slept badly as I was worrying.

I know it is not unusual to bleed in early pregnancy but that was the one thing that made this pregnancy different until now! I also know that you can spot around the time your AF would be due and as I have a regular 28 day cycle and yesterday was exactly 8 weeks, so it is more than likely that or the hormonal changes in the lining of the womb because the placenta will be developing. Still the knowledge doesn?t take away the fear. I?m sensitive to every twinge today, like I am living in there with the beanie!

I know I need to stay positive for me and for the beanie but sometimes this pregnancy lark is so exhausting and so worrying, I?m finding it so hard to work and focus on anything else. I know that once you?ve seen a heartbeat things are not as risky as before but I know that I won?t feel safe until that 20 week mark.

Thanks for listening
