Oooh let us know if it works Cheshire, I might give it a go

Mrstobe90 · 26/01/2018 20:24

Hope you're all doing ok!
I'm back in hospital for third time this week with high blood pressure. So fed up!

AnxietyForever · 26/01/2018 20:31

Good luck Cheshire! Let us know if it works.
How are you all feeling babies movements at the moment? I'm feeling rolls and limbs (not sure which ones)

37 +3 and I feel massive! Had a midwife appointment today and she said the baby is very low and she couldn't move the head so I think that means it's engaged and ready! Eeeek! C section booked for 39 weeks so I'm hoping not to go into labour before. I'm definitely waddling now and uncomfortable and am eating way too much chocolate.

charley39 · 26/01/2018 20:44

38+2 past two evenings been having tightenings and pains are definitely getting stronger but by the morning it’s all back to normal. Anyone else experience this? I’m worried I won’t know what real contractions feels like. All I’ve heard is that they stop you from being able to do anything?

cheshiremama89 · 26/01/2018 20:57

Movements are definitely there but not as strong as they have been. Guess he doesn't have much room! Xx

Dixeychick · 26/01/2018 21:20

Charley - yes, I get major BH in the evenings & always let up by morning. Trust me, when you have contractions - you'll know it.

bulldogmum · 26/01/2018 21:27

Hope you don’t mind me joining! 38+3 here and very ready to meet my little one. 2nd baby and DD1 came on due date so hoping for a little earlier. Lost mucus plug today so really hoping it’s imminent!
Also yes to people commenting on size, I find it’s strangers who say the most, had a man in Costa saying I must be having twins I was so big. Charming!

inappropriateraspberry · 26/01/2018 21:33

Hello! 35+3, but baby is transverse and I have a scan on Monday to see what's going on! Was really hoping for a homebirth, but not looking good Sad I'm getting pretty scared at the thought of a possible c section - never had an operation in my life!

BluePheasant · 27/01/2018 11:24

Hi inappropriateraspberry I had an ELCS for DC1 as breech and just like you had originally planned for homebirth, had it all ready etc. Felt really disappointed about it at the time but as soon as baby was delivered none of it really mattered anymore. Recovery from CS went really well. Most probably having ELCS again this time as in my mind the pros and cons of CS or VBAC way are fairly equal and I suppose I’ve chosen to stick to what I know!

With any luck your baby will turn round soon and you can go ahead with Homebirth, still plenty of time 🤞

Naomilj · 27/01/2018 19:37

Hi Everyone, hope you don’t mind if I join?
I’m 37 weeks today. Wondering if this is anyone’s second pregnancy?

Im really lucky not to have any health problems or complications, but I am finding this pregnancy so much much harder. Can barely walk with pelvic pain.
Anyone feel the same?

inappropriateraspberry · 27/01/2018 19:58

Thanks blue, really hoping it's on the move! This is my 2nd, first was so straightforward, as has this one been apart from in the wrong position!
Sorry you're struggling, Naomi, it's hard enough as it is without extra pain! Sometimes I wish we laid eggs and could pop them in an incubator!

Dixeychick · 27/01/2018 20:25

It's my second Naomi & I'm finding it so much harder than last time, despite way fewer complications. Back killing me, hips killing me, if I sit for too long I sort of seize up but if I stand for too long my back hurts like hell. I'm booked for induction or C section at 39 weeks so only 2 more weeks to go thank goodness!

Lou1324 · 27/01/2018 20:32

I'm 37+5 on pregnancy 2 and finding it much harder. There is no time to relax this time! Went to 42wks with DD so feel like I could have a long way to go yet. I also have awful pelvic pain. Have got really strong backache this evening, trying not to get my hopes up that it could be a sign...

Rainshowers · 27/01/2018 20:49

My second too. I breezed through DD's pregnancy almost 4 years ago, I didn't stop work until 38 weeks and was commuting over an hour each way. This time I've felt pretty rubbish from about 35 weeks onwards. Now (39wks) baby feels so low, everything aches and I'm shuffling like I'm about 90!

BluePheasant · 27/01/2018 21:23

Yes my second too, also 37 weeks. Definitely found it a lot harder physically this time. Mainly my lower back giving me trouble. With DC1 I was walking along the coast paths a few days before I went in for my ELCS, was feeling great! This time, pregnancy has just been a succession of hyperemesis, anaemia and now just feeling knackered and so uncomfortable! I will not be missing it at all!

Naomilj · 27/01/2018 22:25

Thanks ladies, it’s terrible of me but your collective misery helps! I think what makes it worse is that everyone assumes it will be super easy second time round and has less sympathy!
Hope your baby moves **inappropriateraspberry I don’t think it’s impossible at this stage, especially for second pregnancies.

Anna2006 · 27/01/2018 22:33

The last few nights I’ve also been getting crampy pains with back ache. Which then seem to disappear. Did loads of walking today an now it’s hurts to even walk as I’ve clearly overdone my public muscles. massive sigh

39 weeks tomorrow and really hoping this babe makes a move in the next week. But again don’t really know what to look for. Think I’d get super excited if I lost my mucus plug. But I know not everyone loses it before things start 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

I haven’t had too many nasty comments thrown my way. More ppl saying how I had such a neat bump. But the last two weeks I feel like I’ve ballooned and that I’m massive. An not sure how much bigger it can get?!

Wow1234 · 28/01/2018 08:34

I'm 37 + 5 and at midwife app on Friday she said baby was low and she couldn't move it's head so I'm thinking that means it's engaged? I am still feeling movement but it's different as the baby's back is against my tummy and I'm not getting the same thing where my whole tummy is moving as it turns and does big kicks into my belly. Anyone else? It feels more like flutters again almost? I'm assuming it's due to the position and like I say I'm still getting movement but it feels like I'm different places.

cheshiremama89 · 28/01/2018 11:45

First timer here, currently overdue by 3 days!
I've had shooting pains up my bum this morning, definitely not contractions (I don't think) but perhaps a sign of something?

Also had a nosebleed yesterday and very weirdly itchy soles of feet in bed the past couple of nights.

Probably all nothing to do with labour but really wanting a sign something is progressing xx

Emcharlierush · 28/01/2018 17:24

So I lost my plug 3, nearly 4 days ago and literally nothing has happened. I am so fed up. I just had to get DH to go out and get me a chicken legend to stop me from crying. SEND HELP!!!! Sad SadSad

Naomilj · 28/01/2018 18:26

Aww feel for you Emcharlierush. Have you tried anything to speed it along? My eccentric Midwife keeps telling me to eat dates and drink raspberry leaf tea

cheshiremama89 · 28/01/2018 18:45

Just had a cracker off my grandma.

"Come here fatso" as she gives me a hug.

"Does everyone look thin to you now?"

To which I replied...
"No, fat people are still fat"

laelti · 28/01/2018 18:55

Oh wow... I think older people especially have no filter sometimes! I work with a lot of older volunteers, and managed to avoid a lot of it by virtue of a very shapeless uniform and not even telling them til I was at least 26 weeks!

I have a very wriggly hiccupy baby today... 39+1 and despite my other half seemingly asking every few hours if I feel like anything is going to happen baby seems to me very comfy where he is.

bluechameleon · 28/01/2018 19:02

I'm booked in for ELCS on Monday 5th so only a week to go. I'm so uncomfortable, and getting exhausted by doing the smallest things. Is it bad that I'm dreading tomorrow afternoon when my 3 year old will be home from preschool? I just find it so hard to do anything with him.
