chesiremama is it heavy bleeding or just some sporting?? If heavy ring your midwife. If just some stopping probably just some minor trauma, I remember my midwife being quite rough firm when she did a sweep on my previous pregnancy.

hungry my babies movements are quite painful but I'm loving the excuse to eat without guilt! Whilst I can't wait to get back to 'normal' I know that I will have bump envy as I watch my friends baby bumps grow over the next few months!

Readytopop12 · 31/01/2018 16:43

*Meant to say spotting

cheshiremama89 · 31/01/2018 17:19

@Readytopop12 it's a fairly decent amount and bright red.

If it continues I'll ring xx

inappropriateraspberry · 31/01/2018 18:53

Can't wait to get rid of the bump now! Try bathing a toddler and bending over the bath all the time! Also hauling her in and out the car, requests for play, dancing etc! Plus I'd like to be able to put my socks and shoes on without toppling over (even when sat down)!

Mrstobe90 · 31/01/2018 20:37

@AHungryMum I would've missed my smaller bump but right now, I can barely move lol.
People always tell me how 'neat' I am but I can't bend over or see past my stomach

Anna2006 · 31/01/2018 21:30

I have midwife tomorrow in the morning so hoping she will offer me a sweep 3 days early or at least have a rummage around and see if anything is happening up there.

These period pains I keep getting at night must be doing something surely. I presume it’s most likely my cervix changing and preparing but who knows..

AnxietyForever · 01/02/2018 01:47

I may miss being pregnant but I don't think I will miss the bump, very itchy at the moment and the stretch marks are so sore Sad

I'm not really getting any signs of things starting yet although I had a very vivid dream about losing my mucus plug! Was gutted when I woke up! Hip pain is now waking me up every hour in the night & sooooo fed up. Thank goodness I'm booked for an early induction so at least the end is now firmly in sight!

cheshiremama89 · 01/02/2018 06:57

@Dixeychick no signs for me either, just two failed sweeps.

Induction was mentioned for either the 6th or the 8th Shock

Readytopop12 · 01/02/2018 08:14

Can I be nosey and ask why anyone is having early induction? Is it something you asked for or something midwife has said is needed??

Dixeychick · 01/02/2018 08:29

Early induction needed for me - my DS was very big (9lb 14oz) & born on his due date after being induced for preeclampsia - without that I'd have gone overdue & he would have been a monster!! This one also measuring large (estimated at 8lb by 36 + 5) & with big shoulders so if I go to my due date will likely be 10lb again. They're worried about risk of shoulder dystocia if he gets too big. I'm mostly relieved that it cuts the waiting short a little but didn't have a great experience of induction last time so desperate for things to get going naturally! No sign of that any time soon Sad but here's hoping!

Dixeychick · 01/02/2018 08:31

I'm about to start hand expressing colostrum as every time I try that my stomach cramps a little & the midwives think it can be quite effective at getting things started.....

Readytopop12 · 01/02/2018 09:23

Ah ok, good luck! Fingers crossed you get going naturally!

Emcharlierush · 01/02/2018 09:43

So my mucus plug went a week ago now, had cramps on and off since but they always disappear. Woke up this morning and I was suddenly really violently sick...feel ok now but no appetite. Wondering if it’s another ‘sign’ or whether I should just give up and stop reading into things!!

Changedmynameo · 01/02/2018 10:49

I’ve started to think my cramps are down to a bug.. they make me feel like I need to sit on the toilet, and often for good reason! I don’t think contractions do that and my DD has had an upset tummy for a few days so could be something we both have

Emcharlierush · 01/02/2018 10:58

Changedmynameo I’m wondering whether I might have a bug too...great timing Sad

Changedmynameo · 01/02/2018 11:03

It’s hard when you’re used to feeling like rubbish because of pregnancy, you don’t seem to notice a massive difference when ill!
My head hurts, I’m a tiny bit congested, back ache, stomach cramps and bit of an upset tummy here and there but because it hasn’t wiped me out I didn’t really notice it as being poorly. Guess we’ve still got a while yet!

Anna2006 · 01/02/2018 11:31

Yummy upset can be a labour sign though ladies. The way of the body clearing itself out before the big event starts!

Midwife didn’t do a sweep today - sake! I have to wait until next week after my due date. Was hoping to get things moving 😩😩
Booked me ahead for induction at 40+13 as that’s how they do it here. But I have two weeks until then for labour to start.

Anna2006 · 01/02/2018 11:31

*Tummy not yummy

Changedmynameo · 01/02/2018 11:58

Anna that sounds like how my area works. Nothing on due date, sweep at 40+7 and induction at 40+12.
So annoying!
Luckily I’m not allowed to go more than a week overdue this time so hopefully they’ll bring that whole process forward and offer me a sweep on my EDD

Rainshowers · 01/02/2018 12:28

Yep, mine won't do sweeps until 41 weeks either. For me that's a Sunday so I won't get mine until 41+1 then they induce at 41+3 anyway so it won't have long to work! Am seeing the midwife next at 40+3 so I might try and ask for an early one. I didn't have one last time (went 6 days overdue) and labour came out of nowhere so I'm holding out hope for similar (ideally earlier!).

Have just been for a long walk and plan to spend the afternoon on the sofa eating biscuits until nursery pick up. It's all about balance right?!

Changedmynameo · 01/02/2018 12:35

Rain I’m writing a shopping list for comfort/picky food. Needed

BluePheasant · 01/02/2018 17:41

No I won’t be missing my bump, it’s breaking my back! I’m quite petite pre-pregnancy and my bump is just ridiculously out of proportion to me now. When I see myself in the mirror I have to do a double take! Grin

I thought something was happening this morning as had really full on pelvic pain but was constant rather than coming and going. Subsided after about half an hour so maybe was just how baby was lying.

I’m starting to get a bit bored at home now. Have done all the nice baby preparation jobs. Now trying to tackle the general household clutter as really wanted the house nice and tidy before arrival of baby but omg it’s so tedious!

Kpo58 · 01/02/2018 20:38

I've just started maternity leave and am going into hospital on Sunday. I'm feeling quite excited. I'm having a C-section on Tuesday, but they want to give steroids beforehand, as the baby will be just over 38 weeks.

I've also just wrapped up DH a small valentine's present to fling at him in the day. I remember that after having DD, I couldn't think clearly enough for a few months afterwards about other things such as birthdays and presents. My entire thoughts were devoted to DD and feeling hungry/needing a shower/wanting sleep/etc.

Changedmynameo · 01/02/2018 20:54

kpo Sorry it you’ve already said and I’ve missed it but why are you having baby early?
