How you all feeling? 37+2 today. Feeling like he could arrive at anytime.

Emcharlierush · 08/02/2018 08:57

@laelti Congratulations!! Hope you’re both doing well Flowers

Due date today and still no signs of anything imminent. Obviously very rare to actually have baby on the due date. But it would have been so nice. I lost my nan when I was 31 weeks and it would have been her wedding anniversary today. I can’t think of a better day for LO to be born but sadly life has other ideas!!

Anyway, only updates are that I’ve had a lot of discharge this morning (soz, tmi!), the dog is being a bit weird (apparently that’s a sign!) but I’ve learned not to get my hopes up. Might hoover the car to kill some time... Hmm

Anna2006 · 08/02/2018 09:11

I went a little stir crazy yesterday and literally cleaned the house from top to bottom. An now I’m knackered today 😂😂

Got midwife this morning and sweep booked in. Hopefully she says cervix is looking favourable or I may have a break down in her office lol!
🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

NoParticularPattern · 08/02/2018 09:28

Oh congratulations laelti!! Enjoy newborn cuddles!!

I’m less angry today. Although that seems to have been replaced with worrying now that because I’m 6 days over that something is probably wrong with the baby. Not that I have any evidence at all for this worry, movements good etc, I’m just clearly an irrational muppet who really really wishes she wasn’t still pregnant. Oh and coupled with yet ANOTHER menu turning up for this birthday meal. Which I think it’s quite clear at this point that I’m unlikely to be going to. Which in turn makes me sad because it’s DH’s birthday the day before and it’s looking like we won’t even have a baby by then never mind be home from hospital!!

I need a good cry today I think, but I’m sure I’ll do the usual of holding it in until I descend into a complete snotty dribbling mess at some point whilst DH is out of the house. Midwife tomorrow and I feel like telling her to shove her sweep where the sun doesn't shine after wasting my time on Monday!!

MsP0b · 08/02/2018 10:25

Congratulations @laelti ! Fab news.

Is it really a sign of labour if your dog is acting weird??? My dog is acting SO strangely I have even been wondering if she is pregnant too!

Possibly a bit of mucus plug this morning.

Hang in there everyone Star

MsP0b · 08/02/2018 10:25

Mucus plug- that's me not the dog btw!

Emcharlierush · 08/02/2018 12:07

@MsP0b haha!!! Yeah apparently it is a sign! They pick up on hormone changes apparently. Although my dog is a freak anyway so it could just be normal behaviour for him

Rainshowers · 08/02/2018 12:47

My little overdue bundle arrived this morning! Had a disappointing midwife apt yesterday (with no sweep) but then my waters started leaking in the afternoon, contractions kicked in and she arrived this morning at 40+4. She's so worth the wait!

Anna2006 · 08/02/2018 13:03

Congrats @rainshowers.

Well MW attempted sweep but was unsuccessful. Cervix was too posterior for her to reach to assess effacement for dilation. So looks like I might be in for a wait.

Although she did say head was very low and everything was really soft which was good. An she thought if she could of reached I may have been effaced an starting to dilate. Guess will have to wait some more...

Mrstobe90 · 08/02/2018 13:22

Congratulations @Rainshowers!!

So glad to hear that these babies are finally appearing!

I'm getting induced on Saturday at 1:30pm (39 weeks).
Wish me luck!!!

AHungryMum · 08/02/2018 15:02

Good luck mrstobe90! And congratulations rainshowers.

Im now willing my baby to be late. I'm due a week today. And I have a cold sore coming through.

If I have a cold sore when she arrives I'm not going to be able to kiss her. 😢

Worst. Timing. Ever. I feel absolutely gutted at the thought of my first cuddle with her being ruined by me being self conscious about keeping my mouth away from her!! 😔

BluePheasant · 08/02/2018 18:58

Wow I’ve not checked in for a couple of days and all these babies have arrived! Congratulations everyone!

@Emcharlierush I’d so love your dog to be right that things are happening!

I’ve been given provisonal date of Monday for my ELCS, will find out for sure on Sunday. Nervous and excited in equal measures!

BluePheasant · 08/02/2018 19:03

Oh no @AHungryMum hope it clears up quickly. Think there are patches you can get to keep it covered?

Emcharlierush · 09/02/2018 09:05

@BluePheasant The dog was semi right....I had my second round of false labour....emphasis on the FALSE!!!

Whyyyyyyyyy is Mother Nature being so mean?!?! Sad

MsP0b · 09/02/2018 11:04

I am now having to sleep propped up in sitting position.. Hip pain when lying down on sides too much! I would be ok lying on my back but that seems strongly banned.

Hope to hear more baby arrival news today from you all! X

mishmash33 · 09/02/2018 12:31

@Emcharlierush 🤦🏻‍♀️ I feel your pain about false starts - I had contractions last night, went back to sleep and they're gone by the morning! It can't be long before the real thing kicks in. I think the false starts are good because you get so fed up, you embrace the contractions (let's get this done 👊). Read this yesterday, even 6th babies try to trick us with false starts: www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5364667/Mother-gives-birth-hospital-corridor.html. Good luck to all waiting and congrats to all mamas with babies - always nice to hear about.

Mrstobe90 · 09/02/2018 12:37

My waters have broken! Wish me luck xx

NoParticularPattern · 09/02/2018 12:49

Ooh good luck Mrstobe90!!!

I just had my sweep and she said I’m a good 1cm dilated and partially effaced so I’ll take that. Induction is booked for Tuesday if nothing happens before then. She reckoned she would have no problem getting a pessary in there to start me off so fingers crossed I either deliver before then or come Tuesday that everything is the same!!

Feel a lot better for having an end in sight now. Off to bounce on my ball in a much less angry way than usual!

Emcharlierush · 09/02/2018 12:54

@mishmash33 Oh my word that article is terrifying but also amazing!! So the moral of that story is to always go with your mother’s intuition!!

@Mrstobe90 How exciting!! Good luck! I’m so jealous!!

mishmash33 · 09/02/2018 12:55

Good luck @Mrstobe90 exciting!!

aquariel · 09/02/2018 13:58

afternoon all,

contractions started last night (from around 10pm) and still ongoing at 10-15mins intervals (couple of 20min gaps in there too) not increasing in intensity or length (other than a couple which were a little longer than others) ... still at home as per advice from hospital but getting very fed up with the waiting but at least contractions mean something is happening at last (I hope!)

so tired today but can't sleep (managed about 3hrs through the night)

good luck to everyone who is still waiting, in particular @Mrstobe90 after your waters have gone, hopefully my next post will be with a baby in arms (fingers crossed, but not legs .... lol)

AHungryMum · 09/02/2018 15:36

Good luck @mrstobe90 and @aquariel ! So exciting! Hope all goes well for you.

I've got an appointment with the GP later to discuss the cold sore and see if there's any medication they can give me to clear it up quicker....I've also bought one of those light treatment things to try to zap it. Fingers crossed it's gone before my little one arrives....I've got 6 days until due date and I think she's going to be late anyway, so I'm trying to be positive about it! 🤞🏻Husband is being absolutely lovely about it and keeps reassuring me that even if i still have it when she arrives, that first cuddle is still going to be magical and with all the emotions and the hormones I won't care about the cold sore and the lack of baby kissing, I will just be so thrilled to meet her that it won't matter to me...as to whether he's right, who knows. Hopefully I won't have to find out!

Mrstobe90 · 09/02/2018 15:43

I'm currently waiting to get onto the labour ward. Waters broke at 11:40am. I'm now 2cm dilated, waters still keep gushing (so gross) and they could see a bit of hair when I was examined.
Baby is moving much and has done a little poop so they've talked about maybe speeding things up.
Fx she's here tonight!

noname687328 · 09/02/2018 15:54

Hi everyone, congratulations to everyone who's had their babies ❤️ I wish I'd found this thread sooner, due tomorrow and for the last couple of weeks have been willing every little thing to mean something, have gone to bed every night hoping 😝 have been stuck in the house for 2 weeks with spd that's much worse at night. Have a 3.5 year old and 2 year old, they were 6 days late and 4 days late but this one feels like it's never going to come!!

And the preschool mums.... avoided them for the last 2 weeks as other people have had to take my son to school. But my god was it getting tedious......!!!!!!

laelti · 09/02/2018 21:34

Thanks guys! Can't quite believe how quick it really happened, apparently my mum was in labour 3 days with me...
Didn't even lose plug til already at hospital, was in pool about two hours, got out to be examined and waters must have gone in the pool as never saw them but it was time to push!

First night at home tonight. Eek!

Fingers crossed lots more babies arriving soon!
