NoParticularPattern · 06/02/2018 18:36

I know I wish she hadn’t ever said anything about how baby might not make it to the next appointment still on the inside!! And they’re still at it- the last (pointless!!) appointment I had she said “ahahahah feel free to have a baby before Friday won’t you? Ahah ahaha” yes. Because the only reason I’ve held it in so far is because you didn’t fucking tell me to spit it out! Nothing to do with the fact that IM STILL NOT IN LABOUR AND YOU WONT DO A SWEEP. I had someone ask me when I’m due today. My response? A very short “last week”. I’m definitely not making any friends this week am I haha?

SPD sounds like the absolute pits- I have mild sciatica that flares up in spectacular fashion every now and then, but nothing as bad as what you describe!! I just get a really attractive leg drag for 10 minutes haha! I really hope all these babies get shifting soon! For the sake of pretty much the whole of society really!

MsP0b · 06/02/2018 18:44

@Naomilj I don't know how you are coping with a toddler with SPD! Impressive. Did you have it in your previous pregnancy?
I'm getting worried about it coming back with a vengeance in future pregs now.

MsP0b · 06/02/2018 18:47

@NoParticularPattern ....Sounds annoying! Just.... this can't go on forever, right?
Here comes one of the most annoying but true phrases: "not long now"!
ThanksCake

Mrstobe90 · 07/02/2018 00:42

I'm starting to get sick of people looking at my bump, terrified, when they ask my due date and I say "next week".

I have strangers asking me constantly and when I answer, they look at my stomach in pure horror like my waters are about to break that second!

Is it just me or is anyone else getting utterly sick of answering baby questions that are asked by random people?

Emcharlierush · 07/02/2018 06:58

@Mrstobe90 Yep!! Mainly mums on the school run who usually wouldn’t even bother saying morning!!

Had some really convincing pain past night. 3 hours of horrendous back ache and cramps. Genuinely thought this was it...then they eased off and disppeared...Mother nature is so cruel!

Mrstobe90 · 07/02/2018 07:17

That sucks! I had that about a week ago and nothing since! Starting to believe that I'll be pregnant forever.

charley39 · 07/02/2018 07:28

Induced at 12.33, baby boy arrived in a hurry at 22.35. Keep going everyone it is worth every pain!!

Rainshowers · 07/02/2018 07:33

I dread the nursery drop off 'oh have you still not had that baby yet??' Erm..,nope!!

So fed up!

Rainshowers · 07/02/2018 07:34

charley congratulations! That's great news. Enjoy the baby cuddles!

NoParticularPattern · 07/02/2018 08:09

Ah congrats charley!!

Yep I’m sick of all the questions. Hundreds of the things. Even DH is doing it now- every time he comes in he says “no baby yet?” Or going out he says “let me know if you’re having the baby”. Yes dear, because there’s a REAL chance I might just FORGET TO TELL MY HUSBAND THAT IVE HAD OR AM HAVING THE BABY.

Oh and now my MIL has started asking me if we will be coming to her birthday meal next week. I don’t know!! I’ve never had a baby before and, sadly for everyone who has had the misfortune to cross my path and question me this week, I have no crystal ball which tells me when it might decide to show up!!! At this stage there’s a very good chance I’ll either have a very very new baby or be actually pushing said new baby out of my vagina at the point where you want me to tell you if I’m coming for your birthday meal!!! And if you FaceTime me again at the point where I’m about to have my 40th nap of the day I might well murder someone.

Yeah I’m in no better frame of mind today!!!

Anna2006 · 07/02/2018 10:04

Haha @nopaticularpattern you are ranting exactly how I feel. ONE more person asks me if the baby is out yet. An I’m sure my friends have come up with a cunning plan for each one of them to message every morning to see how I feel (ie suss out of in in labour) so I won’t work it out an get annoyed. When I clearly have worked it out!! Argh!!

Congrats charley!! woo a baby! Where the hell are the rest of them?

I’m only 3 days over and feel like I’ve gone stir crazy. What am I gonna do if I pass a week?! Probabaly be in jail because I’ve murdered some random stranger that’s asked anything about pregnancy. I feel really bad and guilty for feeling crap as it’s meant to be exciting and most magical time ever. But er really?! Get a fucking shift on!!

Mrstobe90 · 07/02/2018 12:01

@NoParticularPattern sorry but that made me giggle! Lol
I've asked my mum to contact family members and tell them not to ask "any news" or "is she here yet".
I've explained that if people ask me this, I will completely blank their calls even after the baby HAS come.

@charley39 congratulations!!!

Dixeychick · 07/02/2018 12:23

Baby boy arrived this morning 10 days early & very out of the blue. 8lb 7oz & a bad labour where he got stuck so I'm deeply grateful that we didn't go overdue & end up with him being a monster. Good luck ladies & hope the labours all go well!

Anna2006 · 07/02/2018 12:34

Congratulations @dixiechick! 10 days early - jealous!

Do you think it was your stretch and sweep that got things going?! I have one booked for tomorrow morning an I’ll be 40+4 so praying it kickstarts something 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Mrstobe90 · 07/02/2018 12:51

Congratulations @Dixeychick!!

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 07/02/2018 13:11

Congratulations to those of you who have had your babies! I know there's been a flurry of activity on the FB group over the past 10 days or so. Very jealous!

I'm so sorry so many of you are struggling. I COMPLETELY understand! It must be extra hard when you go overdue.

I have a week to go (early ELCS) and am counting down the seconds. I felt irrationally, over the top annoyed about one friend messaging this morning and asking if there was any sign of baby. It's just she's done it every single day for the past two weeks, despite knowing I'm not due for a few weeks. She knows I'm having an ELCS and keeps pestering me to let her know the date, but I want to keep it secret from everyone but immediate family so there's some element of surprise/privacy.

I know it's the pregnancy hormones turning me into a cow, but I only really want to tell people when I know she's here safely! Also, if anything dramatic happens beforehand, I'm only going to want to tell immediate family and my very best friends.

Rant over.

Emcharlierush · 07/02/2018 14:09

Congratulations on your babies!! Flowers

This thread is so funny! I love that there are people who are as full of rage as i am!!

@CoffeeAndCupcakes85 I have a friend who keeps doing the same and it’s making me so cross. Especially annoying for you if she knows you’re having an ELCS!

Dixeychick · 07/02/2018 14:21

Thanks all! @Anna2006, I think it was the stretch & sweep that did it - was 4 hours between the S&S and labour starting. Had also been hand expressing colostrum so that might have helped too. Lots love to all of you who are miserable & still waiting x

MsP0b · 07/02/2018 15:47

@Dixeychick Congratulations! Xx

bulldogmum · 07/02/2018 16:00

Congratulations everyone on their babies!!!
I’m in the rage stage too, literally non stop messages asking for news, any signs, and now telling me I must be fed up. Yep thanks...no he’s not arrived, I know he’s gone past our due date and no I feel super duper happy that I’m a giant whale with spd, back pain and a belly that interchanges between itchy & feeling like it’s on fire!

2 sweeps done and had twinges last night for 4 hours, they stopped, returned in the middle of the night then stopped again. Grrr.

aquariel · 07/02/2018 19:13

Nice to hear that some of these babies are beginning to make themselves known to the world (do you hear that baba bump of mine!?). Congratulations to you all.

Still waiting impatiently for my little bundle to arrive 40+3 today.

DP says the next person who asks about baby arriving will be told that he arrived last week but we couldn't be bothered to tell anyone ....

Had (I think) some bits of mucus plug coming away last night but might just be discharge (sorry - TMI Blush) and some pains too, again with some niggles this afternoon but nothing regular or painful but (rather oddly) my bump seems to have changed shape and is very "at the front" - anyone want to offer some insight as to if this is good (possibly labour incoming) sign, or if I'm just being optimistic?

I've got midwife appointment tomorrow and thinking of asking for another sweep (can't do any harm can it?Hmm) and am booked in for induction on Monday if he's still not here by then.

laelti · 07/02/2018 19:30

Arthur Jack finally arrived 4 days late at 4.16pm!
Had a curry last night, don't know if it helped, but contractions started early hours and was 8cm dilated by the time we came to hospital at 11am! 7lb 7oz and currently quite chilled...

Anna2006 · 07/02/2018 20:12

@laelti argh congrats hun! Again very jealous. I’m 4 days overdue tommorow so here’s hoping something might happen in the night for me!

Sounds like you progressed quick. Enjoy your new bundle!

Mrstobe90 · 08/02/2018 07:00

Congratulations @laelti!!

inappropriateraspberry · 08/02/2018 07:41

Not overdue, but 37+2, and have caught a horrid cold from my toddler!
