Hello Smile I'm 7 weeks and 4 days today and have had super sore nipples (this and fatigue have been my only symptoms really and just a dull sick feeling all day no actual sickness) and today I've woken up and my boobs feel completely normal and I'm a little worried as I had a loss last year and I'm terrified the same is going to happen and I'm analysing everything. I guess my question is, is it normal? Has anyone had this and gone on to a successful pregnancy? Thanks in advance x

I had my scan today. There is a baby in there! Beautiful little thing, but wasn't playing ball and getting into the right position. I kept having to get up and jump up and down, then had to go of for a walk and something to eat and drink. Baby had moved when I came back but still being difficult. Long story short, it has everything it needs.. But the liquid on the back of the head and my blood results said my baby has a 1/72 chance of having down syndrome. Obviously I'm absolutely gutted. They took more bloods and I will hopefully get results mid next week that are 99.9% accurate. We are on holiday so they are going to email me to let usknow. Please keep your fingers crossed for us. Feeling a bit emotionally drained. I was so excited when I saw my beautiful little baby and didn't expect this at all Confused xx

hopingandprayingthistime · 12/02/2018 20:24

Hi @Noonaylor I’m so so sorry to hear this, will keep everything crossed for you. The NHS tests aren’t very accurate so try your best not to panic (easier said than done, I know). It might be helpful to think of the “odds” you’ve been given like this: of 72 people, 71 of them won’t have Down’s syndrome. Really hoping that the further tests will show there is nothing to worry about. Sending love x

Noonaylor · 12/02/2018 20:33

Thanks @hopingandprayingthistime I just converted it to percentageand it's 1.38 which also makes me feel slightly better! So thank you Smile. Oh it's never smooth is it! I'm just going to try andput it to the back of my mind and enjoy the pics xx

jellybean218 · 13/02/2018 00:07

Sorry @Noonaylor I've stopped getting notifications from the app and didn't know anyone had written. I'm so sorry to hear about that but the odds seem very much in your favour. I'm keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you but I'm delighted you have a lovely little baby bouncing around. I hope the further tests give good news! Xx

I'm feeling anxious tonight as I have my scan at 12 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. I still get nervous of a MMC 😩 xx

@jellybean218 best wishes for your scan today - I just had mine (NHS) today too! 13 weeks today! Baby looked good. Try not to panic and just think that if there’s no reason to suspect anything is wrong then it’s probably all good! I get so nervous too though so completely understand. I got myself into a right state today and cried on the sonographer because I was worried I had damaged the baby by having private scans, so exposing the baby to more ultrasound than it should have been at this stage. She reassured me that ultrasound is completely safe for baby. Still feel a bit worried but going to listen to the experts and try to relax as what’s done now is done. Let us know how you get on. Keeping fingers crossed for all of us x

jellybean218 · 13/02/2018 12:45

@hopingandprayingthistime happy 13 weeks! Grin happy your scan went well! Yeah I was thinking the same so you've answered a worry of mine :') I've had the Down syndrome test today too so now I'm worrying about that, so many things we have to worry about! Ugh. Well the scan went well anyway and I'm 12weeks 6days. It was bouncing around and had its hand by its face, we saw the fingers :') xx

Yay I’m so pleased for you @jellybean218 we’re at pretty much exactly the same stage! Happy 13 weeks to you for tomorrow! Fingers crossed for your tests and thinking of you xx

hopingandprayingthistime · 13/02/2018 13:18

The worrying is just constant isn’t it - it’s awful! I am very anxious about everything. If I’m not worrying about too many scans it’s what I am eating or what I am doing. So worried potential harm is lurking everywhere! Started a maternal exercise class last night and I think I will try to keep that up as it’ll be good for me to do some regular and pregnancy-safe exercises.

Noonaylor · 13/02/2018 16:57

Aww thanks lady's. Glad to hear the scan all went well! It's so exciting seeing it isn't it! I was dated at 13 weeks yesterday so a few days sooner than I thought. I'm feeling a bit better as I've seen another thread on here and the safe test I've had seems to have had a positive outcome for alot of people so I'm just going to think positively and hope it's the same. Always so much to think about. @HOPINGANDPRAYINGTHISTIME that's good about the excersice classes. I think I'll look into something when I'm back from holiday with (fingers crossed) good results. And celebrate by buying some maternity trousers! I was putting it off until my scan and now until the results... But my trousers are straining!! Xx

jellybean218 · 14/02/2018 00:10

Thanks ladies! @hopingandprayingthistime that sounds lovely! You'll have to let us know what it's like :) glad you're feeling good! Xx

@Noonaylor I'm so glad you're feeling more positive! It's such a small chance but you're bound to worry but I've got everything crossed and have faith that everything will be great xx

How are we all? @jellybean218 are your colleagues being nicer to you? @Noonaylor I hope you’re having a nice holiday. We’ve started telling a few people now (close family and friends only), it’s lovely that other people are excited!

jellybean218 · 15/02/2018 22:50

Hello @hopingandprayingthistime I'm doing better thank you, how are you doing? hope you're feeling a bit better too.. work are being a little nicer regarding my rota thank you for asking, but it's so bitchy and stressful. I keep thinking "only 5 more months" 😂 xx @Noonaylor yesss,
Hope you're having a lovely holiday xx

@jellybean218 & @hopingandprayingthistime not on holiday yet, off on Tuesday Grin. Last day at work until March today,! Glad to they are being slightly nicer at work, but it really doesn't sound ideal. I would say they are probably jealous!! It's such an exciting time and I bet they wish they were expecting a little one! We told close family at Christmas, because we just couldn't wait! I don't live near my parents so wanted to be able to tell them face to face, then we had to tell the in-laws to make it fair! But actually thsts been good as they have been able to give me support. Wanted to start telling others after the 12 week scan, but are now waiting for our test results. I think I'll tell my boss either way when I'm back as if they don't go as hoped I'm going to need support emotionally (we are good friends too which helps). Although she has absolutely no idea, and I know she will be shocked and excited, but also a bit upset as we are doing some big changes at work and I've been working closely with her on these! She kept saying you can't get pregnant! As a joke.. But also as she didn't want me to go off!!
Happy Friday everyone, hope you are all having a nice relaxing weekend xxx

hopingandprayingthistime · 18/02/2018 17:53

Hi girls, I’ve had a bit of bleeding after intercourse, has this happened to you? Do you think it’s normal?

Noonaylor · 18/02/2018 18:16

@hopingandprayingthistime I haven't myself but have heard about it happening. I don't think it's anything to worry about just that your cervix is more sensitive. So the blood is probably from this. Obviously if it continues I'd speak to your doctor but unless it's very heavy I'd say its your cervix. Maybe give them a call tomorrow morning? @jellybean218 how are you doing? Your results back yet? X

hopingandprayingthistime · 18/02/2018 19:01

Thanks @Noonaylor and sorry for such a brief post (worrying)... hope you have a lovely holiday xx

jellybean218 · 18/02/2018 19:24

@hopingandprayingthistime I've heard this is normal too! I know it's still worrying but try not to and just give your midwife or doctors a call tomorrow just to be safe but I'm sure all is fine xx

@Noonaylor I'm okay thank you, work have altered my hours and I've sorted things with OH's family as we didn't get on so I'm feeling a lot better! But as for my results no they're not back but I did get a missed postal card thingy of a £2 payment so I have to go pick it up and pay £2 to receive it but I've not ordered anything so I'm not sure what it is I thought it may be that but nhs wouldn't make you pay for a letter would they? How are you? Looking forward to your holiday Tuesday? :) xx

OP posts:
hopingandprayingthistime · 18/02/2018 20:19

@jellybean218 that’s brilliant news about work altering your hours, I’m so pleased they’re being more supportive. And good news re: DH family too! Sounds very positive all round. That £2 sounds a bit odd for NHS, but could be if they’ve somehow messed up the postage and the charge is from Royal Mail? Are these your Down’s syndrome results you’re waiting for? Thanks re: the bleeding. More anxiety! xx

jellybean218 · 18/02/2018 22:03

@hopingandprayingthistime thank youuuuu! I just feel like a whole weight has been lifted. It was very awkward sitting down with them and having it all out but so glad it's all ended on a good note and even getting an invite around for dinner! I was thinking it's a bit odd for the NHS but I suppose I'll see on Wednesday when I go to the postal office. Yes it's my Down syndrome tests I'm awaiting so I just want them to hurry and be delivered. It's okay! If you don't mind me asking is it just right after sex or has it continued? I've heard it's normal sometimes to bleed for 24 hours after, I'm sure it will all be fine but always good for piece of mind to get checked over. Hope you're feeling a bit better xx
