Hello Smile I'm 7 weeks and 4 days today and have had super sore nipples (this and fatigue have been my only symptoms really and just a dull sick feeling all day no actual sickness) and today I've woken up and my boobs feel completely normal and I'm a little worried as I had a loss last year and I'm terrified the same is going to happen and I'm analysing everything. I guess my question is, is it normal? Has anyone had this and gone on to a successful pregnancy? Thanks in advance x

We haven’t told anyone yet. I think we’re going to tell family after the 12 week scan and close friends as and when we see them after that. I’ll probably hold out on telling work for a little while after that - maybe tell them around 14 weeks - depending on if I start feeling rubbish and need any extra support or if I start showing! My tummy is already a bit rounded! What about you guys? Have you told anyone? Hope you’re feeling better today @jellybean218. P.s. I’m glad we’ve gone private at this stage because I’m not even having my booking appointment until 12 weeks!

jellybean218 · 25/01/2018 21:03

@hopingandprayingthistime oh I'm so so happy that it scan went well! how far exactly did they say you were? I can imagine you were! That's a long time I wait! Usually at your booking appointment they get you in for a scan really quick. My midwife rang them while I was in my booking appointment and arranged it apparently that's what they do these days. Hope you get your next scan quickly :) we've told close family but not announced it yet. We will at 12 weeks though with a nice little photo :') xx

Thanks to you and @Noonaylor she probably does get it so much, it would probably get on our nerves but hey ho! I'll crack on until Thursday for my next scan. How are you feeling @Noonaylor ? Well I hope :) xx

Measured 10+2 at the scan yesterday. Still worried something will go wrong, but I honestly don’t think I’ll ever be able to relax!

jellybean218 · 26/01/2018 11:17

@hopingandprayingthistime that's brilliant, really happy for you :) yeah Im with you on that. I know exactly how you feel. You over analyse every little twinge and assume the worst it's horrible.. But we've all got each other to moan to and calm each other ay :) x

Hi @jellybean218 and @Noonaylor how are you both? I am 11 weeks today! Waiting for my 12 week (private) scan next week. I have my booking appointment with the midwife this week too. My NHS scan date isn’t until I will be 13 weeks - not sure whether to still go to that and my screening bloods. I’ll ask the midwife at my booking appointment. Do they also take bloods at your booking appointment?

Noonaylor · 30/01/2018 12:51

Woo 11 weeks Smile. When I went for my booking appointment she took bloods and a urine sample. She has also booked me in for bloods next Monday to test for down syndrome etc. I'd go for NHS scan too just so you get to see your baby again!
I'm getting more and more nervous the closer I get to my 12 week scan (on the 12th Feb - I'll be 12+4) I'm so worried they are going to find I've had a MMC. Ive had no signs of a miscarriage I just don't feel very pregnant! I'm sure it's all in my head - I really hope so anyway! Xx

hopingandprayingthistime · 30/01/2018 13:34

Thanks @Noonaylor try to think positive - I don’t feel very pregnant either! Fingers crossed it’ll all be okay for all of us at our 12 week scans xx

jellybean218 · 31/01/2018 22:32

Hey @Noonaylor and @hopingandprayingthistime! Hope you are both well, happy 11 weeks! Grin well I have my "12" but 11 week scan tomorrow at 10:45 at the hospital! She did mine a little earlier so I wasn't waiting ages. I'm worried too, I'm so scared of a MMC too so totally understand where you're coming from.

Yes they do take your bloods and your booking appointment and your first scan to do the tests for Down syndrome and Edwards (this is what my midwife did and said anyway)

It's crazy not feeling pregnant isn't? Makes you think the worst but then i suppose we're all lucky really! Do you two have no symptoms atm? I literally just have slightly sore boobs and tired that's it.

It's lovely keeping in contact with you! Nice to chat and share x

Hi @jellybean218 best wishes for your scan today we’ll be thinking of you. Let us know how you get on. It’s nice that they’re doing it a bit earlier for you. My symptoms are exactly the same as yours - sore-ish boobs (this comes and goes) and tiredness! I am also preferring plainer food than I usually eat and more carbs / dairy! Craving porridge!

jellybean218 · 01/02/2018 11:03

Thank you ladies Smile all was okay! I'm 11+1 so it was a bit early for the tests so I get another scan on the 13th of Feb and have the tests so I get to see my little sprout again soon :') she showed me the legs and arms and nose :') hope you are both well today xx

@jellybean218 I’m so happy for you! That’s brilliant news and lovely that you’ll get to see baby again soon! I’ve got my 12 week scan next Wednesday... counting down the days! I should be 12+1 then. Do you guys have a bit of a bump?! My tummy is definitely a bit rounder and my jeans a bit tighter!

Noonaylor · 01/02/2018 12:50

@jellybean218 oh it's so cute! I'm so happy for you! Really nice you get to see your baby again on the 13th! Im 11weeks today! Yes @hopingandprayingthistime definitely tight around my middle, jeans are digging in. I've got a high-waisted pair which are much more comfortable! Xx

jellybean218 · 01/02/2018 13:08

Thank you ladies
@hopingandprayingthistime ooo not long now, I'd love to say it will fly but it will drag! Feels like forever doesn't it but it's gonna be amazing for you so I'm exited for yours! And @Noonaylor happy 11 weeks! Grin not long until we're all pay that first mark now!

Definitely feeling a little tight, I'm usually a size 8 and now I got size 12 trousers for work and they're tight! It's crazy! I'm glad it's not just me! We've all been really lucky with our symptoms too really! xx

Another random Q for you - I have to travel quite a bit for work and have had to lift a suitcase high up on planes and trains a few times. I can’t really see a way around this?!?

jellybean218 · 01/02/2018 19:34

@hopingandprayingthistime well from what I've been told they say don't lift heavy things to protect us as our stomach muscles are softer. As long as you're lifting right it shouldn't be a problem :) (until you get bigger) x

Thanks @jellybean218 hopefully it’s okay... xx

Bearlove · 02/02/2018 08:15

Hi ladies I'm 6+5 days and I have hardly any symptoms. Sometimes my boobs are sore sometimes not. I'm tired but not exhausted. I get a slight wave of sickness once or twice a day. Thing is I'm a hairdresser, I'm on my feet all day, I did a 10 hour shift yday and when I got home I had pains and now Iv got a very slightly coloured discharge (sorry for the info) it's like a pinky brown col. but only very slightly. I have had to ring the early assessment unit before but they said go to my doctor, it's hard to get in at the doctors and when I called them to say I was pregnant they just gave me another number to call! Do u think this is normal? Iv got another week til my early scan and all I can think is I'm loosing it

jellybean218 · 05/02/2018 13:32

Hi @Bearlove , have things improved for you? I'm sorry for the late response. Usually pink/brown discharge is rather normal in early pregnancy so I've been told. I'd ring your EPU and ask if you could be seen if it is still carrying on. Hope you're alright x

hopingandprayingthistime · 06/02/2018 19:28

How are you all ladies? @Bearlove I’m sorry for slow reply - hope you are okay - have you had your early scan now? Really hope everything going well for you. I have my 12 week (private) scan tomorrow and harmony screening results. I’ve been trying not to think about it but now I’m feeling nervous. My NHS 12 week scan is next week (when I will be 13 weeks per private scan measurements).

Bearlove · 06/02/2018 20:16

@jellybean218 @hopingandprayingthistime it went away but then yday it came back. This morning I had more milky brown discharge and have so on and off through out the day. I now have pains like I'm bloated or cramping, but Iv had them before. I went to the docs and Iv got an early scan on thurs morning. I'm so worried I hate being in limbo!!

jellybean218 · 06/02/2018 20:43

@hopingandprayingthistime glad you're well! Your scan will be perfect tomorrow and make sure you let us know how you go on and send a picture (if you want to ofc) Smile and @Bearlove hope you're looking after yourself and feeling a little better, i know it's so nerve wrecking but if it's gone to milky brown that's good as it's old blood. Keeping all my fingers crossed for you Thanks x

hopingandprayingthistime · 06/02/2018 21:01

Thanks @jellybean218 hope you are feeling better and able to take it as steady as possible at work? Have you told work yet? I still haven’t told anyone apart from DH of course. @Bearlove I’m sorry you have our sympathy - the waiting is awful. We’ll be thinking of you on Thursday xx

jellybean218 · 07/02/2018 08:59

Thanks @hopingandprayingthistime I'm feeling better but still having to do s lot at work, 7 on 2 days off 5 in 2 days off and they all know I'm pregnant now but they say "it's not an illness" they just aren't understanding at all. How are you feeling today? I'll be thinking of you all day, I'll keep checking so i know how you have gotten on Smile xx

OP posts:
hopingandprayingthistime · 07/02/2018 09:54

Wow @jellybean218 your colleagues sound horrible, I am so sorry to hear that. Hopefully they’ll start to be more supportive once you look more obviously pregnant. Surely some of them have been through pregnancy and know how it feels?!

Had the scan and Harmony test results back today and all is well! Such a relief x

jellybean218 · 07/02/2018 10:01

@hopingandprayingthistime They are, I'm scared to ask for set days to be honest they're just so confrontational. I can only hope they become more understanding! Oh that's brilliant!! So so happy for you! Grin your perfect little bean is growing nicely! Xx
