Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

Hello ladies!
Just got BFP, due 23rd Sept! 2nd baby, same symptoms as last time- nausea, intense sense of smell, wee niggly pains. Hoping I don’t get HG this time round though! Happened quicker than we thought it would as still BFing 8month old DS

snowy1982 · 27/01/2018 11:04

So far only thing I have gone off is soy sauce. I love soy sauce normally, would eat rice almost daily and always with soy sauce, would have added it to soup, and used it a lot to season when cooking. Went off it before I got my BFP and haven’t touched it since. Have only had one Chinese takeaway since finding out and had to have boiled rice as even the fried rice cooked in soy sauce was turning my stomach

Helen290 · 27/01/2018 11:47

Yeh I have gone off everything it seems lol nothing sounds nice and if I do find something that I like after I have it once I go off it , my nausea is most of the day I only tend to be sick in the morning in week 10 now so apparently by week 11 symptoms should improve a bit , but I am very thankful for this pregnancy 🙏🏻🙏🏻so I will cope with anything.

Beautymummy · 27/01/2018 12:21

All I wanted the eat for dinner the other day was soy sauce and rice lol

pregnantandfrightened · 27/01/2018 12:50

@pumpkin I have the dry skin, lips and eyes at the moment, I assumed it was just the weather rather than anything else. My boobs are also really sore at the moment which I’m guessing is down to the pregnancy.

Everytime I get a twinge I panic but there’s been no other symptoms which give me pause for concern.

Is it too early for heart burn because I’m sure I have it and have never had it before?

I’ve opted for an early pregnancy scan just to allay any concerns I have. Going to go next week.

Is anyone taking pregnancy multi-vitamins? I started taking them Wednesday but they aren’t specifically folic acid, should I be buying those separately? Sorry for all the questions, clueless! x

Scoobysue10 · 27/01/2018 12:59

Pregnantandfrightened
I have suffered heart burn since before I found out I was pregnant. This is number 3 and never suffered this early with it.
Also you need to take folic acid so make sure you take a multivitamin with folic acid in.

Well I am 8wks +6 today and feeling good.
Felt better yesterday and was eating and drinking a bit more.
Woke up this morning. Have been hungry today and been enjoying my food and drinking plenty.
Fingers crossed that's the end of me feeling sick and horrible.

I am begining to want foods I did go off which was more or less everything.

Helen290 · 27/01/2018 13:35

@Scoobysue10 glad your feeling better must be nice to enjoy food again 🙂.
I still feel terrible.
I thought you were 9 weeks today I am, thought we had the same dates lol 🙂 or did I imagine that 😂.

Helen290 · 27/01/2018 13:37

@pregnantandfrightened I use pregnacare max it's really good you can buy it in most places has all vitamins you need 🙂

Kiztok · 27/01/2018 13:50

@pregnantandfrightened my midwife said you don't have to take a multi vit but you do need 400 of folic acid and 10 of vit d

I have boots own brand pregnancy multi vit and it has both the above plus extra vits which I feel happier knowing I'm getting

I'm also have special K for breakfast as it is fortified and has lots of good vits in it 😊

Scoobysue10 · 27/01/2018 14:12

Helen290. Really hope you begin to feel better soon. I thought we had same dates too lol. I'm due 1st September. Which would make me 9 wks today. Lol.
Silly me. Grin

Helen290 · 27/01/2018 14:44

@Scoobysue10 yeh I'm the same 1st September I thought you must be 9 weeks lol 🙂.

Flamingo84 · 27/01/2018 15:27

Whoop! Just had an early scan and everything looking good! So relieved and it’s great to see the little flickering heartbeat. They’ve put me at 8 weeks and 5 days which is pretty much what we thought. DH got a bit emotional afterwards. Smile

Katsanddogs · 27/01/2018 15:51

Congratulations flamingo. Excellent news!

Flamingo84 · 27/01/2018 16:04

@Katsanddogs thank you! Showed my dad and he asked when he can tell people (not yet), is it a boy or girl (it doesn’t have hands yet dad!), and can I drink alcohol?! (In his day they recommend Guinness for the iron!) Bless him!

Tinkerbelle568 · 27/01/2018 16:17

Congratulations @flamingo84

Does anyone know the rules on painting. My brother asked me to help him paint his nursery whenever I'm available. I don't want to tell him I'm pregnant just yet and there's no excuses as I cant say I'm busy 24/7 😂😂😂

SquidgyMcPidgy · 27/01/2018 16:57

Good news @Flamingo!

@Tinkerbelle I wouldn’t do it in the first 12 weeks and even after I’d still be cautious

Just been to tesco, nearly fainted plus the sight of all the foods made so nauseous. Made it out but then might have lifted too much when putting the shopping in the car and now have weird pains :(

Scoobysue10 · 27/01/2018 17:27

Been going to bed about 9.30pm each night. But didn't get to bed till nearly midnight last night as was my niece's 16th birthday party.
2hrs away from finishing a 12hr shift. Can't wait to get home and crawl into my bed. I am soooooooo shattered.

Tinkerbelle568 · 27/01/2018 18:10

Thanks @SquidgyMcPidgy i dont know how to say no. He will just think i dont want to help him :/

Lifting should be fine as it's I assume only groceries. I do it every day for my job as I work in a supermarket licking people's shopping. They say not to lift as it could cause you harm but the baby should be fine. And if it's only groceries it's nothing to out of the ordinary so the pains are probably normal pains

lemondrizzlecake448 · 27/01/2018 19:58

Hello!

I got my first BFP on Thursday, I only just fit in this group - due Sept 30th!

Bit concerned though as I've had light pink spotting since Tuesday (initially thought it was my period, till needing to wee every hour tipped me off!) so planning to speak to the GP about it on Monday when I go for my first appointment. Has anyone else had any spotting? Would they be likely to send me for a scan? x

pregnantandfrightened · 27/01/2018 20:09

Thanks for the advice, the multi-vits I have contain folic acid and vitamin D so I think I’m covered.

I’ve gone a bit OTT with the diet if I’m honest, I suffer with anorexia and so am making sure the baby is getting all the nutrients it needs. I haven’t had any naughty foods yet but I’ll probably break by next week and have some treats.

@scooby - I woke up with bad heartburn today but smiled because I knew it was a pregnancy symptom.

@kiz - I’ll going to buy that cereal for sure.

Trying to cut down on caffeine, just one cup of coffee today and a tea. Cutting out the Diet Coke will be hard too.

Hope everyone is having a relaxing Saturday x

pregnantandfrightened · 27/01/2018 20:10

@lemon - I read a few blogs in early symptoms and a little bleeding is normal I think, it’s the implantation phase. If you are worried though and are experiencing pains speak to your mid-wife for peace of mind x

lemondrizzlecake448 · 27/01/2018 20:50

Thanks @pregnant, I've not actually got a midwife yet as I need to see my GP first - when I phoned on Friday they didn't have any appointments, so hoping I can get in on Monday! I don't have any pains at all, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed x

pregnantandfrightened · 27/01/2018 20:53

@lemon - the doctor will refer you to a midwife and they will get you booked in. You can get a private scan if you’re feeling anxious from 6 weeks on.

Am I right in thinking that how many weeks you are is calculated from the first day of your last period? That’s what my midwife said by I’ve had some conflicting advice?

Eclecticmama · 27/01/2018 22:06

Hello all, please can I join?

EDD 21st sept
6 weeks pregnant
DD 23 months old
MC last July at 7 weeks.

Super excited, but anxious too in equal measures, especially after my miscarriage.

81louise · 27/01/2018 23:56

Been a roller coaster week.
Tuesday I started to bleed, no pain or cramps, but this was how it started with my miscarriage. got a drs app on Thursday as it hadn't stopped and then a EPAU app on Friday, but which time I had stopped.

Got to see an almost bean, there was a really faint echo inside the gestational sack. And have to go back in 2 weeks.

Today I have started again, but this time it is more like ovulation egg whites with blood in them. Why does no one ever tell you about this stuff! Apparently this is all normal :O
