Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

Well, I had my booking in appointment today. It went surprisingly quickly! Just lots of forms and health questions, no blood or pee tests though. Apparently they do that at the hospital during the 12 month scan in our area. It's all starting to feel very real now....helped along by the fact I struggled to do my jeans up this morning 😁

snowy1982 · 26/01/2018 17:33

Welcome @littleostrich and congratulations

@fluffysavage, glad the appointment went well and that things are beginning to feel real Smile

Things began to feel very real to me today, nausea was horrific, haven’t actually been sick but have felt rotten all day. Finally on train home from work, can’t wait to get in, get the jammies on, cuddle the dogs (and maybe DH) and put my feet up

Ktn35 · 26/01/2018 17:42

Yeah fluffysavage I just had my first doctors appointment and while she didn’t do much ... just took dates, gave some basic advice and gave me a flu jab ... it does suddenly feel real! Like i’m not lying about it! Had to choose my hospital now though which worried me as they are all a bit rubbish round here. I should be able to change at a later date though shouldn’t I?! Hope you are all ok! Xx

ShanC97 · 26/01/2018 17:44

Hi! I found out I was 5 weeks pregnant on Tuesday, it’s my first baby and I am nervous about every little pain, I keep getting a little nagging pain on my left side, it doesn’t cause me enough pain to ring 999 but I’m getting extremely over worried, any suggestions please!!?

Helen290 · 26/01/2018 17:57

Would it be really bad if I got a McDonald's tonight lol for some reason I have been craving it i seem to of gone off everything else lol 🙈

Ktn35 · 26/01/2018 17:58

Shan ... I am the same but it is much better a week after finding out! I think the worry we gradually reduce x

snowy1982 · 26/01/2018 18:02

@helen290, if baby wants it then baby should have it Smile

Helen290 · 26/01/2018 18:15

@snowy1982 lol that's what I keep on saying to myself lol 😂 I try to eat healthy just so hard when you have gone off everything.

Tidloo · 26/01/2018 18:28

Ladies- help! Ive got my drs appointment next week where I think I'm booked in with the nurse (?) anyway, is this the one where they ask you which hospital you want to give birth in? I've not done my research or anything :/

SquidgyMcPidgy · 26/01/2018 18:40

You can change hospital at any point. With my little boy I changed at like 35 weeks. So dont worry about it!

snowy1982 · 26/01/2018 18:53

@helen290, i’m the same, I try to eat healthy as much as I can but I don’t see the point in denying ourselves some treats especially since at this stage we’re feeling so crappy most of the time. As long as we’re not eating crap all the time it won’t hurt really

Kiztok · 26/01/2018 20:04

Had to admit defeat today and go home at midday, haven't slept properly all week & had a headache coming on
Feeling much better now for a little chill out
I'm a dog groomer so constantly on my feet moving around x

Francesca1999 · 26/01/2018 20:22

X

Brownbear84 · 26/01/2018 20:24

I've had McDonald's and pizza shop today/tonight!! Chinese tomorrow 😅😅

Kiztok · 26/01/2018 20:28

@Brownbear84 I just want to eat cereal with loaaaaads of milk all the time 🙈 I don't usually eat cereal!
Really fancied loads of chocolate before but the actual thought of eating it turned my stomach
I honestly had no idea this early on could have so many symptoms

Tinkerbelle568 · 26/01/2018 20:30

I had a kfc to day. A whole feast bucket between the two of us (I'm gonna use the excuse that there's technically 3 of us) what questions are asked at the booking in appointment. Noot sure if my boyfriend can make it as he may be out of the country for work and I don't know much about his family history at all. Can't say I know much about my own. I just know at some point they will want to know that stuff

Paradisefinallyarrived · 26/01/2018 20:32

Congrats ladies! 💐

We recently found out we’re expecting in sept! September’s a popular month in both our families. I’m having serious cravings for ice cubes! Confused

Tinkerbelle568 · 26/01/2018 20:58

Congratulations @Paradisefinallyarrived do you know your due date?

PinkyPromise77 · 26/01/2018 23:41

Congrats to all new ladies on here!!! Yay!

Sorry @kiztok you had a rubbish day today.

@Helen as long as you don’t do it every day I don’t see why not treat yourself to food you ( =you baby :) ) fancies :)

I had my early scan today at 6w + 4 but but the scan lady said the measurements look more like 7w which I guess is good as I’m pretty sure of my dates oh and we seen the heartbeat and all looks good! Oh my... so relieved... 😍

PinkyPromise77 · 26/01/2018 23:42

How did you get on today @Snowy in the cold warehouse?

snowy1982 · 27/01/2018 07:17

That’s great @pinkypromise, glad it went so well.

I got on ok actually, I had been feeling really nauseous, headachy and exhausted before I went out, but walking around in the cold actually seemed to help a bit

Helen290 · 27/01/2018 07:59

Lol thanks guys for making me feel better about the McDonald's but it wasn't great I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, I have literally gone off everything!! I went off chocolate and coffee first now savoury I literally want nothing, also really gone off chicken and meat anyone else going off everything? Lol. Nausea is strong this morning 🤢.

Ktn35 · 27/01/2018 08:37

The only thing I have gone off is mushrooms! I’m a bit behind some of you guys though! X

Zoey36 · 27/01/2018 08:38

@Helen90 I'm the same with chocolate and meat. I'll still eat meat but the thought of it is what gets me!I won't prepare it though.

Beautymummy · 27/01/2018 10:00

Ive gone off chocolate and generally everything sweet I'm all about toast for breakfast, veggies and anything savoury generally! Spend most of the day feeling nauseas but I do think snacking regularly helps!
