Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

Helen290 · 23/01/2018 11:57

@Scoobysue10 I bet I think we will all be relived when the 12 week scan is done 🙂🤞🏻🙏🏻, this is my first pregnancy and I'm 30 so Not a young pregnancy apparently anything over 28 is classed as old 😒but I do worry cause I have never carried a child full term So just so worried I'll have problems.

Helen290 · 23/01/2018 11:58

@PassTheAfterEights so sorry for your loss 😔💐

Helen290 · 23/01/2018 12:03

@snowy1982 no problems with going toilet I have IBS so mine is more loose but in the last few weeks the hormones have actually made my IBS better is normal now rather then loose stools most days. Constipation is very normal tho in pregnancy maybe speak to your doctor for something to loosen it make it less painful I always find after I go toilet I have a few cramps it's just caused everything is stretching etc.

Marriageoftrueminds · 23/01/2018 12:06

I’ve been sent home from work by the hospital nurse, I phoned her and she said to rest. I get the impression they are just waiting for me to miscarriage because I am in all this pain! Still googling wildly for reassurance that others have had this and baby has been ok. No bleeding so far...

snowy1982 · 23/01/2018 12:09

@helen290, went into boots and spoke to pharmacist, they gave me a mild softener so am going to work from home rest of the day and hopefully it will kick in and i’ll feel better. Was in a lot of pain there, I would say i’m 90% sure it is toilet related but the cramps were very bad so am concerned about the other 10%

snowy1982 · 23/01/2018 12:10

@passtheaftereights, I am so sorry for your loss Flowers

snowy1982 · 23/01/2018 12:11

@marriageoftrueminds, fingers crossed the nurse is sending you home as a precaution only. Rest up and hopefully the cramps will ease. The fact you aren’t bleeding has to be a good sign

Marriageoftrueminds · 23/01/2018 12:19

Thanks Snowy, hope you feel better soon too! I had bad constipation a few days ago, I drank half a cup of coffee and it did the trick! I think half a cup is absolutely fine caffeine-wise.

Ktn35 · 23/01/2018 14:09

I’m sorry @passtheaftereights that’s so tough. Sending hugs x

Ktn35 · 23/01/2018 14:12

You guys all sound so calm and measured! I wish I was too 😩 I am completely over anxious and although I tell myself it’s pointless and is doing more harm than good I can’t stop worrying. I want to just curl up in a ball and come out when it’s been 12 weeks! 😱 xxxx

Ktn35 · 23/01/2018 14:13

I’m not even a crazy hypersensitive person! I’m usually pretty matter of fact about everything! I have clearly gone insane!

Marriageoftrueminds · 23/01/2018 14:15

I think I would be calm and measured were it not for
A) having an ectopic pregnancy last year having tried for 2 years
B) experiencing all manner of pain since discovering I was pregnant again this time, including pain in the same place as my previous ectopic.

You can only feel how you feel, and it doesn’t damage your chances of a successful pregnancy. Be kind to yourself!

Ktn35 · 23/01/2018 14:32

Yes you are right! I perhaps need to allow myself to be a bit panicky and go with it. Maybe it’ll pass more quickly!

I’m sorry to hear about your losses. I hope the paid stops soon x

Scoobysue10 · 23/01/2018 14:35

Helen 290. I must be ancient as near 40 lol.
My sister had both her children in her 30's and they are both fine.
Have a friend that had her first in mid 30'S and had her 2nd at 40.

But doesn't stop the worrying though that you might be in that small percentage that has something wrong with it.
My scan is on 23rd Feb so a little while to wait.

snowy1982 · 23/01/2018 15:02

Sorry in advance for TMI but I finally pooped (is it bad that I am so happy about that) and am feeling much better for it Smile

Tinkerbelle568 · 23/01/2018 15:28

Just been to the doctors. Now I just have to wait for the midwife to contact me. They didn't even do a blood test! So confused

snowy1982 · 23/01/2018 15:33

@tinkerbell568, my doctor doesn’t even see me, I had to self refer to midwife, think the days of drs confirming pregnacy are over

Scoobysue10 · 23/01/2018 17:52

My drs don't see you either. You have to go on website and do self referal to midwife team.
Think you have bloods done around 16 wks if that's still the same.

Scoobysue10 · 23/01/2018 18:03

Managed to eat almost all of a McDonald's big Mac meal. Cooking at home just turning me off. Really enjoyed the mochance frappe nice and cold.

Tinkerbelle568 · 23/01/2018 18:28

Okay than You guys. Well now it's just sit and wait I guess. So nervous. Symptoms keep disappearing and although that should be a releif it was nice having a reminder that I'm pregnant. Anyone else feel like that?
