Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

Tinkerbelle, yes symptoms do come and go and it was the same when I was pregnant with my little boy so enjoy the times when you are not feeling off and dont worry x

Tinkerbelle568 · 23/01/2018 18:57

Thanks @SquidgyMcPidgy that makes me feel so much better. 6W1D (so not counting the hours...i mean days haha) so just need to relax for a bit :)

Helen290 · 23/01/2018 19:52

@Scoobysue10 midwife said all the bloods will be done at the 12 week scan 🙂

SquidgyMcPidgy · 23/01/2018 19:57

I know, it’s so hard these first twelve weeks. I’m just trying to distract myself otherwise time goes way too slowly..
By the way has anyone thought about creating a secret facebook group for september babies?

TheBlindspot · 23/01/2018 20:05

@SquidgyMcPidgy Yes, I think the general consensus was that we'd wait until around 12 weeks to start one.

Scoobysue10 · 23/01/2018 20:27

Helen 290.
Oh OK. Hopefully i'll have my fluids well up by then. As they struggled to find my veins at a&e a few wks ago due to not drinking enough.

SquidgyMcPidgy · 23/01/2018 21:54

Thanks @Blindspot! , good idea

Katsanddogs · 23/01/2018 23:00

So sorry passtheaftereights

So, after my toileting problems yesterday I have a few concerns. Basically I have some new odd pains. When doing my pelvic floor exercises I noticed a tenderness, so now if I try to tense my abdominal muscles I can feel it too. Not a cramping pain seems more like a muscular tenderness. Very concerned now and didn’t sleep well last night as a result. As with any of my other weird pains I have had no spotting (well not yet anyway).

Since the weird pains last week, the constipation and yesterday’s extreme constipation debacle I am extremely concerned something has gone wrong. Add to that my boobs not feeling that tender anymore and my nausea seems to have eased off over the weekend. Only symptom I still seem to be having is extreme fautigue.

I am definitely taking the IUI place up on the extra scan, especially since I still haven’t heard from midwifes re any appointments. Going to try and get scan for Thursday week as i’m off work that day so if anything goes wrong I can just go home and cry

Scoobysue10 · 24/01/2018 06:13

Snowy1982. I'm sure everything is fine.
Your uterus is still sensitive as growing to accommodate your new lititle one. So for the pain when doing pelvic floor i'm sure it is just muscle pain.
As for your boobs. Mine didn't even hurt with my other two pregnancies, but really painful this time round.
Your symptoms will start easing up now. Everyone is different. Obviously have the scan to put your mind at rest but i'm sure all is well. ☺

snowy1982 · 24/01/2018 06:48

Thanks @scoobysue10, I keep trying to tell myself that although I am having odd pains their not really bad pains, am not in agony with them, and as they hasn’t been any spotting it must be ok, but somehow it’s not getting through this time (think yesterday traumatised me Smile). Going to ring the clinic today and speak to the midwife as well as booking scan for next week

Ktn35 · 24/01/2018 07:38

My pregnancy book says that’s totally normal Snowy1982. I keep getting on and off cramps and they freak me out too. You feel so out of control don’t you? It’s awful! Someone told me it will get better after 12 weeks! Let us know how you get on at the scan. I might organise one too.

My partner has suggested something to help me thrhink more positively rather than obsess with the fact I will miscarry. I’m not sure if it’s the best idea or the worst idea ever! Tell me what you think. He suggested buying the baby something small (socks or something) to make it clear to myself that I assume this will be a successful pregnancy. He says it will make me consider the positive rather than dwelling on the negative. I don’t know ... might also make the grief worse if I lose it but there again it might not. What do you guys think?

ThorsMistress · 24/01/2018 07:51

Hi ladies. Had pain in my right side and in my back along with spotting and 111 sent me to the ooh where they determined I had a uti.

DTD with DP Monday night and since then I’ve been spotting. Went to the toilet this morning and there’s slightly more blood when I wipe. Not having any cramps but worried. Anyone know what his could be? Should I call my midwife for reassurance?

Scoobysue10 · 24/01/2018 08:05

Ktn35. I think that is a lovely idea.
What a lovely thought your husband had.
I am half way through 8 wks and I just can't feel happy about it. I know mine is hormones as felt exactly the same when I was carrying my daughter. But can't shake the feeling that the scan will show something wrong with it.
Hate feeling like this.

snowy1982 · 24/01/2018 08:19

@thorsmistress, from what I’ve read some spotting/bleeding after DTD isn’t unusual (something to do with increased blood flow to the uterus and cervix) add to that an UTI I wouldn’t be concerned, but def ring your midwife to get reassurance from the professionals

snowy1982 · 24/01/2018 08:24

Thanks @ktn35. The rational side of me is saying it is just the constipation added to normal early pregnancy pains, the irrational side is screaming that it is something bad. Normally I am pretty good at listening to my rational side but for some reason yesterday and today I don’t seem to be able too.

I like your husbands idea, it doesn’t have to be anything big but just a wee symbolic item.

Helen290 · 24/01/2018 08:25

Developed a weird pain in my back lumber area only when I walk and put pressure on my right leg it's not really painful just an ache and it's only when I walk maybe a trapped nerve? I get it in my bum and sometimes in my leg, when I spoke to the midwife she said back pain is normal at 8 weeks cause the ligaments are relaxing but I can't help but worry, has anyone else had this I have had it since Monday evening?, I only had a scan Monday and I'm already worrying again this is going to feel like a long 4 weeks till my 12 week scan 😩.

snowy1982 · 24/01/2018 08:42

Oh @helen290, welcome to my world, my happier reassured buzz from scan last week lasted 2 days, no it’s back to manic anxiety.

To (non-medical professional me) that does sound like a trapped nerve to me, especially as it’s so specific to putting weight on your right leg. Maybe try and get a GP appointment instead of talking to midwife.

I have been having back pain almost consistently since getting BFP, well from the first day back at work after BFP I had it, initially assumed it was sitting back at desk after being off at Christmas that caused it but it has remained so think it is just pregnacy related.

Scoobysue10 · 24/01/2018 09:06

I suffered terrible lower back and hip pain in my 2nd pregnancy from about 8wks to 40 wks. Had to give up at work at 16 wks as was too painful to walk. Turns out it was my mattress. Got admitted to hospital on my due date and has the best nights sleep in mths and my pain went. Lol.
Wish I had known that in the beginning.
So far doing ok this time round considering i'might sleeping on a put you up bed.

PassTheAfterEights · 24/01/2018 09:10

Just popping head back in to say huge thanks to @Katsanddogs @Ktn35 @snowy1982 @Helen290 @Kiztok @missamy94 @samanthajonespr @Marriageoftrueminds for all kind words yesterday, MN got me through a grotty day. Feeling a lot more accepting and positive this morning and thinking about a glass of wine tonight. Wish you all a smooth run to September, will miss you! Thank you again high fives bus xx

samanthajonespr · 24/01/2018 09:45

I've got a scan booked for 7 weeks, so 2 weeks today as a precaution because I had a scar ectopic last time. What can I expect to see this early on? I didn't have an early scan with my son so I'm not sure.

samanthajonespr · 24/01/2018 09:46

@PassTheAfterEights I hope you're ok today (or at least a bit better) Thanks

Ktn35 · 24/01/2018 09:52

Helen - I have trapped nerves in my back which give me painful legs ... try bending right over for a few seconds and it often shifts it! It’s not very glamorous in Sainsbury’s but it works!

niclw · 24/01/2018 09:56

@snowy1982 . I've also had odd cramping in the last 24 hours. My class even noticed me clutching my side yesterday. I phoned my iui clinic and spoke to a midwife there. She told me that she thinks it might be a cyst on my ovary. She said they are common in pregnancy particularly if you used fertility drugs and it should disappear on its own. As I've got a scan tomorrow morning with them they are going to take a look to reassure me. The side I ovulated from was the other ovary so was unlikely to be anything else. Might be worthwhile to ask you clinic to check for cysts too x

snowy1982 · 24/01/2018 10:20

@niclw they checked my ovaries on my scan last week, no sign of cysts. Think is these pains don’t feel like cramps, it’s hard to explain, but feels more like muscular damage than cramps.

@samanthajonespr if you look back through the thread I posted my scan pic. It was 6+2, I am having a second scan next Thursday it should be 8+5 (or 6 as my days where 1 out last time but may have caught up by then). I will (hopefully) be posting another scan pic then. Yours should look somewhere in the middle of the 2. I think you should see the yolk sac, feotal pole, embryo and very possibly a heartbeat (I saw heartbeat at 6+2 but not everyone does)
