Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

I've made an appointment to see my doctor Tuesday. I'll be 6W1D so nervous. Have no clue of what I've actually got to do but I'll find out. Have to go alone though :( I have one question ladies, when do I tell my work, we have targets to be made and due to me constantly going to the bathroom feeling sick or needing to wee I'm not meeting them and they are noticing. I also have to lift relativly heavy objects which makes me uncomfortable. Do I tell them tomorow or wait a little longer? X

PassTheAfterEights · 19/01/2018 17:49

Thanks @snowy1982 & @TheBlindSpot - that doesn't sound so bad!

Fab fab news @NK1605 hope you can relax a little now!!

Unfortunately having some little cramps and light pink spotting - more devastated than I'd have thought - anyone have a good experience here? AF due today, trying to hold it together but down in the dumps and worried I'm out :/

nk1605 · 19/01/2018 18:48

@PassTheAfterEighta I have read that spotting is common for a lot of women, especially during the first trimester. Sometimes it can be breakthrough bleeding, which would make sense if your period would have been due today.

snowy1982 · 19/01/2018 18:59

@passtheaftereights, haven’t had any spotting but have cramps daily. They were stronger and more frequent around the time I got my BFP but I am still getting them now. I have also read that spotting can be common and is more a cause for concern if it’s red rather than pink or brown

ThorsMistress · 19/01/2018 19:17

@passtheaftereights I haven’t had any spotting but I do get period type cramps. Not extreme but enough to notice

Scoobysue10 · 19/01/2018 20:00

I had pink discharge on the day my period was due.

CrabbyPatty · 19/01/2018 20:14

This week I literally convinced myself I'd had a missed miscarriage. Apart from initial cramps and no period I'd had no symptoms. I frantically started taking tests even though deep down I know they would still come up positive. Anyway, had a scan booked with Ultra-Sound Direct next week and brought it forward to yesterday. Turns out I'm just over 5 weeks (I thought I was 7). Got a pic although its just a speck (1.6mm!!!!!!) and heard a little heartbeat. Best moment ever! Here's to anxious pregnancies! Good luck everyone!

ThorsMistress · 19/01/2018 21:22

Driving back from my mums this evening and when lifting and lowering my foot on the accelerator I have a pain in my right side Sad it seems to be that when I bring my knee up it hurts. Anyone else? Or anyone have any idea what it could be?

PassTheAfterEights · 20/01/2018 00:11

Thanks @NK1605 @snowy1982 @scoobysue that makes me feel a bit better, no more this evening so fx was a breakthrough and won't happen much :/

@thorsmistress thank you, re the muscle pain I read that your muscles start to relax across the whole body early into preg and can mean you very easily strain or pull one, could be that?

Fab news @CrabbyPatty so glad your mind's at rest.

samanthajonespr · 20/01/2018 08:12

I did an IC test and it says completely negative. Surely that can't be right? Even if I had miscarried, I did a test 48 hours ago (paranoid about miscarriage) and it was a strong positive, as it would be at nearly 5 weeks. I'm starting to panic a bit.

FluffySavage · 20/01/2018 09:58

@samanthajonespr don't panic just yet. Those IC tests can be unreliable - mine didn't really get any darker whilst other brands did (IIFC a load were recalled a while ago for giving false negatives as well). Did you dip for 10 seconds in FMU and leave it for 10 minutes before reading? I would try a different brand - maybe a digital one? They're not very sensitive so if you get a BFP on that your sorted.

samanthajonespr · 20/01/2018 10:24

@FluffySavage thank you, that's a bit of a relief. I did 20 seconds ish in FMU and left it for 10 mins but only the tiniest ghost of a line. Going to get some clearblue digitals today. If I'm 4+3 it'll be showing 2-3 now rather than 1-2 won't it? I'm so frightened of having another mmc

FluffySavage · 20/01/2018 10:51

Ah, the test might have been flooded if you dipped for 20 seconds. Not sure about the week indicator on those digital tests, I think they're based on average HCG levels so probably not that accurate. I wouldn't stress too much about them though, all you need right now is for it to say positive! Good luck Flowers

SquidgyMcPidgy · 20/01/2018 10:52

Hi everyone, can I join in very cautiously please? I’m 6w 6d, pregnant after 4 miscarriages and my miracle baby who is now nearly 2 and a half. Had an early scan yesterday at the recurrent miscarriage clinic and saw a tiny 8mm baby and a heartbeat. Now anxiously waiting for my next scan in 2 weeks’ time...

cakeanytype · 20/01/2018 11:54

U think once u gt a positive test ur in the clear ... I'm currently stressing like so many ... boob pain seems to b calming today at five weeks n google just makes it worse ... after two chems in 12 months all I am doing is stressing .. hugs everybody

snowy1982 · 20/01/2018 12:41

I was saying to DH last night, the anxiety is the worst thing about being pregnant, so far things appear to be going well for me but I am still gripped by anxiety.

New thing today, I seem to be experiencing a feeling of pressure in my uterus area, not cramping and it isn’t painful (more just a bit uncomfortable) but def a feeling of pressure, so one more thing to add to the list of worries

cakeanytype · 20/01/2018 12:54

Same here snowy .... I've jus taken my last boots digi... positive.. but made the mistake of cracking it open .. ur nt supposed to .. the second line was fainter than the other so now I'm thinking shudnt tht b darker ... I jus keep finding things to stress over

cakeanytype · 20/01/2018 12:56

At least my ic tests r dark now .. summit at least ..

Hi @PassTheAfterEights I had a bleed about 3 weeks ago, brownish then dark red (just a short time - and only when I wiped). I went to the early pregnancy unit and the scan showed all was fine. They said at this stage the embryo/fetus embeds further into the womb and can cause bleeding.

I then had slight brown discharge this week when I wiped and horrible twinges all day but fine the next day.

I'm 7 weeks and 2 days....

They said unless it's bright red and there are clots it's nothing to worry about. But we all know we still will 🙄

I hope you're feeling ok Smile

TheBlindspot · 20/01/2018 13:25

Right, you repeat testers - stop testing! And stop breaking open tests and examining them in minute detail!

What will be will be, and no amount of poas will change that. All this stress and worry will be doing you no good.

You've got your positives - they are here and they are clear. Now put down the sticks and walk away! I know it's so hard to wait until scan time, but winding yourselves up isn't going to help or change any outcome. Think positively. When you worry, repeat to yourselves, 'I am fine, my baby is fine'. Then distract yourself with something else.

Consider this a nice, honestly from a good place, telling off Wink from someone who has suffered with anxiety (unrelated to pregnancy) and understands how tough it is but who also knows worrying and stressing yourself out does not help.

Plus, you must be spending a fortune on tests. Buy yourself something nice instead!

snowy1982 · 20/01/2018 13:35

Well said @theblindspot. I was a repeat tester but have been cold turkey for 2 and a half weeks. We will all worry enough without POAS every day and examining the results.

I know it might be easier said than done but you will feel better for it in the end

Scoobysue10 · 20/01/2018 13:58

Snowy1982. .
I amean also feeling a bit uncomfortable down there today and apear to have grown a little bump over night. I was nearly 6 mths with my first before I even looked pregnant. Was about 14 wks with the 2nd when I began to show.

Hoping alot of it is just bloatedness but definitely a bit more tender down there today.

cakeanytype · 20/01/2018 14:34

@TheBlindspot ur so right !! I know !!

SC126 · 20/01/2018 14:40

@cakeanytype took ages for those IC to show dark doesn't it! I finally got one darker at 5w3ds. I've stopped checking now it's gone dark!

Spock25 · 20/01/2018 15:27

Just found out this week that I’m pregnant. It hasn’t quite hit me yet! Due date is mid september. My first is 3 and will be 4 by the time baby arrives. I had her in the U.K. and now live in the US. Feeling a little bit nervous about that and I’m not sure why. Maternity care just doesn’t seem to be the same here Hmm
