Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

@snowy1982 sprite has no caffeine but coke does I always check the labels and sprite was recommended for m/s.

Helen290 · 18/01/2018 08:48

42mg of caffeine in Diet Coke and 32mg in normal coke

snowy1982 · 18/01/2018 09:02

Every days a school day isn’t it!! I just assumed they were all much of a muchness, really surprised ordinary coke has less than Diet Coke

Helen290 · 18/01/2018 09:28

@snowy1982 more crap in Diet Coke people think it's healthier as nearly no calories but it's just packed full of sweeteners and chemicals.

MissSophieB397 · 18/01/2018 09:43

What stuff can and can't you eat? Main things?

snowy1982 · 18/01/2018 09:45

@helen290 I know there is a lot of chemical crap in Diet Coke but I hadn’t realised it had an affect on the caffeine

Helen290 · 18/01/2018 10:00

@snowy1982 I don't know why it has more but that's what it says weird

Helen290 · 18/01/2018 10:01

@MissSophieB397 look at this NHS website will tell everything you need to avoid www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/foods-to-avoid-pregnant/?

When did everyone's morning sickness start?

4w today and same symptoms for the last ten days (emotional, constant back ache, on and off headache, slightly enhanced smell but no taste and appetite is either on or its off), no development.

Know I should be dreading it but right now resisting the urge to keep testing to be sure!! FRER has quickly become my most moronic expensive habit. Probably why they advise not to start until missed AF Confused

snowy1982 · 18/01/2018 11:38

My morning sickness has gradually been coming on since about 5weeks I think. I haven’t vomited at all (some people never do) but nauseas everyday. When it started I was mildly nauseas late afternoon/early evening, then developed to all evening, last couple days I’ve been getting it in morning too, but evenings are always the worst.

Brownbear84 · 18/01/2018 11:46

I don't think mornin sickness starts till 6 weeks plus I don't think? I'm 4+4 today and just had terrible backache and my boobs are so sore xx

Helen290 · 18/01/2018 12:08

My nausea started at 6 weeks I have it most of the day been sick a few times it's usually worse morning time and in the evening but the last two days it's been mostly in the morning much better in the evening. I am now 7 weeks 4 days.

Scoobysue10 · 18/01/2018 14:01

Helen 290. Hi hun. Thanks for the advice, I know too much caffeine not good. Probably having about 2 small glasses at the most. Currently drinking cold ginger beer. Drinking eating cold things seems to help with feeling sick.
My sickness and queeziness started about 6wks. I'm 7wks + 4 today. Some days are better than others. Just hate the feeling sick all day that i've had since yesterday.
Really drinking to drink more water as still dehydrated.

Scoobysue10 · 18/01/2018 14:03

Oooh Helen290 we are due the same time.

Helen290 · 18/01/2018 14:32

@Scoobysue10 we are 😊 hehe, looks like I might have a urine infection which explains the back ache so that's a slight relief I guess, the reduction in nausea is still a bit concerning lol you said your nausea is better some days I have been having most of the day but today and yesterday mostly just in the morning have you had that too?

Scoobysue10 · 18/01/2018 15:45

Helen290
When it started it was worse in the mornings. Then started eating ginger biscuits last wkend and drinking ginger beer and the sickness improved.
But yesterday afternoon and evening I felt so sick but wasn't. Was sick this morning and felt ill all morning so have started back on the ginger biscuits and ginger beer this afternoon and feeling alot better again.
Have you tried ginger to see if that helps ??

I am so excited to be posting about my September baby! Just found out the other day, I'm 3w + 5d. Symptoms: achey back, tired, need to wee a lot. No sickness yet (but that comes at like 6w right?) I've just bought 'How to Grow a Baby and Push It Out' - too soon, or sensible forward planning?! Xx

splendidsqueak7 · 18/01/2018 16:26

I am so sorry my post uploaded three times!!! Apologies apologies

samanthajonespr · 18/01/2018 16:31

I've had mild cramps all afternoon, no spotting or anything though. I've had a miscarriage so I'm just really paranoid but is cramping normal? I'm 4+1

PassTheAfterEights · 18/01/2018 16:44

Thanks re morning sickness @snowy1982 @brownbear84 @helen290, will enjoy my last two weeks of eating with gusto peace and quiet then! And keep trying not to test......

Congrats @splendidsqueak7 you're a day behind me & same symptoms, plus raging / absent appetite on and off. Also succumbed to "what to expect" arriving today Grin Definitely sensible forward planning Wink

Seems fairly normal from what I've read @samanthajonespr but fx for you
