Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

Definitely better safe than sorry! Probably stick to the easy meditation yoga vids for now.
helen i don't think it would cause a problem if it was light enough for you to lift it relatively easily. I'm a nurse too and constantly moving a heavy incubator (500kg!!) Around but epu said it wouldn't have caused my miscarriage.
My friends mum is going to squeeze me in for a quicky sneaky scan sunday morning! I think I'll only be 5+3 so probably won't see a heartbeat but it means my DP can come with me which will be good. He still doesn't believe I'm pregnant and thinks it might be a false positive like last time, apparently he has no idea what a miscarriage is!

Helen290 · 17/01/2018 16:39

@Katsanddogs yeh I lifted it easily I didn't even think until after I did it it's just habit I can't imagine one time doing it would be a problem.

sophrose · 17/01/2018 17:41

How do you get a scan before 12 weeks? The wait seems soooooo long I'm only 6 weeksConfused

twobambinos · 17/01/2018 17:47

Helen I don't think lifting would hurt the baby I think the say your own ligaments relax and that you could over do it pushing yourself too far but as another poster said that would impact you not the baby.
I know it's hard to relax.

Goodluck with your scan Kats that will be exciting

Scoobysue10 · 17/01/2018 18:49

I preferred it when I was being sick in the mornings last wk. Now i'm just feeling sick that starts early afternoon and lasts the rest of the day. This pregnancy currently following pattern of my first and that was a girl.

claire7930 · 17/01/2018 18:54

I saw my midwife yesterday & asked about exercise, yoga & pilates. She said not to do my normal classes in the first trimester as all your smooth muscles are relaxing so it's very easy to pull something & you should avoid doing anything that involves exercising your core. I was a bit surprised but she said to just keep swimming & dog walking for now & then I'm planning to start pregnancy specific yoga or pilates at 14-16 weeks ish.

TheBlindspot · 17/01/2018 19:40

I did a pregnancy yoga class last time when I was pregnant with DD. I wasn't allowed to join until I was 16 weeks.

A fellow Diet Coke addict! Phew, I’m not the only one, I’ve cut down since my bfp to 2-3 cans per day, usually 2. I used to drink between 10-12 per day. With my last pregnancy I stopped drinking Diet Coke completely incredibly. How many do you have a day now?

I’m also on constant knicker watch all the time, habit I suppose from the 2 mc, i also had spotting with my 1 year old early on so is not always the end if it does happen.

Fia

Sorry to read about your losses, especially the late one, that’s so sad. I was a quivering wreck the whole time I was pregnant with my little one for the same reason. I hope you can relax and enjoy your pregnancy, although much easier said than done.

I’m wondering about telling work as my boss is so lovely, and recently promoted from the same role as me where he was my best buddy. We don’t get to chat as often as we did as he is so busy these days. I’m holding off telling anyone until after my scan at 6+5 (a week on sat). After that we will probably tell family, I’ve ordered a cute tshirt for my little girl saying she is going to be a big sister which I decided could tell the story for us.

Helen

If you have to lift during your job it’s probably time you tell them, I also heard that lifting could cause mc although I’m not sure what weights as women lift other children all the time, and I weighed my 1yo the other day and she was 1st10lb and I must lift her up 50 times a day. Or if you’re worried about telling work just now could you have a mystery back injury and have others lift things for a few weeks?

Kats

Sorry your partner doesn’t seem to understand the mc you just went through. How sad. Lots of us on here can empathise. Fingers crossed with the scan. Looking forward to the update.

For all of you looking for exercise, I did aqua-natal last time and loved it, I only joined in the last couple of months, this time I think I’ll join as soon as I hear the heartbeat Smile

snowy1982 · 17/01/2018 21:28

Vap0, I have 2 a day now. It’s my only caffeine intake so i’m happy enough with that

JHD79 · 17/01/2018 21:46

Hi missamy94, I was 4wk1 day (last Friday) when I started with a woozy tummy, had loose stools that became diarrhoea on Sunday. Was also getting a few pains. My local hospital has an early detection ward (like AnE for pregnant women) so took myself along. It's my first pregnancy so it's all new to me. They weren't impressed, apparently you should give 48 hours before going in but as I had some pains I didn't think! Ended up kept separate from the other patients in a side room as I didn't know the cause! I didn't really get an explanation as to whether it was normal but it has now passed, which makes me think it was a touch of food poisoning. And because of the pains they have booked me in for an early scan on Thursday. Actually feeling fine now, a few twinges but no sickness or sore boobs so having a panic something is wrong!! I would advise speaking to your doctor or midwife and make sure you stay hydrated. Hopefully it will pass quickly x
Just on the exercise, no expert but I'm pretty active and from what I have read and heard if your body is used to it you should be ok to carry on most activities, but if your unsure stop until you've checked with the midwife.
I'm trying hard not to to be panicky and overanalyse every little thing but it's so hard!! Nervous for the scan tomorrow!

Katsanddogs · 17/01/2018 22:10

Thanks for the updates about yoga, I'll stay off it for a while.
I'm a diet coke addict too! I've switched to the caffeine free one now though.

Brownbear84 · 17/01/2018 22:16

I'm a lucozade addict 😱😱love it so much and proper coke. I'm only 4+3 so no sickness yet but boobs are so painful xx

snowy1982 · 18/01/2018 06:24

Morning everyone, now this is another TMI post and I apologise in advance, but who else can I ask these questions too.

Ok, so have been feeling a little constipated lately, nothing too bad, I eventually manage to go without having to strain or force (sorry) but nowhere near as regular as I was before BFP. Also when I go they are normally very big. So this morning I had to go and it came easily enough but as I hadn’t been in a couple days it was rather larger and hurt a bit. When I wiped there was a little bit of blood. I am almost positive the blood is from pooing but I can’t be 100% so am a little anxious. Anyone else had anything like this?

I have been on knicker watch and swapping since and no signs of anything else

Helen290 · 18/01/2018 06:29

Ok I don't know if I should be worrying or not but I have had constant sickness for about two weeks most of the day but the last two days it's not been as bad, is it normal for sickness to get better at 7 weeks 4 days? I woke up so anxious this morning it was horrible every feeling or ache etc I worry other then you guys and my husband I can't talk to anyone else as we don't wanna tell people yet, I just feel so lonely with this and the thought of things not being ok really scares me the last MC was so hard I just don't want that again.

snowy1982 · 18/01/2018 06:42

@helen290, my queasiness does vary from day to day so try not to be too concerned and just be happy you don’t feel like crap today (I know it’s easier said than done)

Helen290 · 18/01/2018 07:04

@snowy1982 I know it's insane me being worried about not being sick but I worry when anything changes, and the thought of going on Monday and it not being ok is unbearable, when I saw that heart beat at 6 weeks it gave me so much hope but it lasted for like a few days then worry again. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Scoobysue10 · 18/01/2018 07:43

Morning all.
Snowy1982. I suffered IBS so often a bit constimpacted and pushing out large poo's. These over stretch the opening so cause I little tear. Nothing to worry about hun.
The way I feel is different daily. Had no sickness since last Saturday but was sick twice this morning. I do have a cold and full of phlem so think it was more just clearing the phlem.
I don't normally drink much fizzy drinks but have been drinking quite a bit of coke most days. Find it helps settle my stomach .
Drinking chocolate milkshake currently and just hoping it stays down .

Bearlove · 18/01/2018 08:16

Hi all, congratulations!!! I found out I was pregnant on Monday, think I'm 4 weeks so end of sept. This is my first. Feels very strange, had constant period style pains constantly since I found out, my boobs are getting my sore by the day!!! I feel sick around afternoon time or after food. I sometimes forget and think "oh periods coming". I wasn't ment to be due on til this Monday coming (22nd). It's silly but I'm sure it's normal but every lil twinge I'm like "omg is it ok?!"

snowy1982 · 18/01/2018 08:21

@scoobysue10, thanks for that. I was 99% certain it was poo related and nothing to worry about, but after yesterday’s weird pains I am in hyper paranoid mode right now

Helen290 · 18/01/2018 08:36

@snowy1982 I am having weird pains too I'm starting to think that's normal tho but can't help but worry I have had like an ache / twinge on the left side of my back, also my cramping feels like I really need to open my bowels lol sorry tmi but I don't then it goes usually only a couple of times a day, weird anyone else had that?.

Helen290 · 18/01/2018 08:38

@Scoobysue10 sorry you probably know this already so I'm sorry if I'm over stepping or stating the obvious but I would be careful the amount of coke you drink as it contains caffeine, I have been having fizzy drinks for my nausea but I tend to go for sprite.

snowy1982 · 18/01/2018 08:40

@helen290 does sprite have less caffeine? I never thought about other fizzy drinks
