Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

My poor DH is definitely getting neglected at the minute, Jan is my busiest time in work, am doing a lot of overtime at the minute and am like the walking dead by time I get home. He understands though and knows it will be made up for Smile

Helen290 · 17/01/2018 09:05

It's just hard with the worry of everything the sickness which I get most of the day I only tend to get some relief around dinner time and I'm so exhausted, but I know it's not fair to neglect him and it's been 8 weeks, just so worried if I see blood.

Katsanddogs · 17/01/2018 09:06

We've not done it much either but not had any problems when we have.
I had a tiny bit of spotting after sex once in my last pregnancy but it was weeks before the MC.
Sex isn't going to cause any problems, sadly of it's going to happen it's going to happen. Maybe just ask him to be gentle.
Good luck for your scan, not long to go!

Scoobysue10 · 17/01/2018 09:46

Me and my partner have had sex since finding out. We have had no problems.

Snowy1982 I had an early scan last Friday. All was well. Just me worrying i'might good at that

Helen290 · 17/01/2018 09:50

Thanks for the advice guys 🙂

snowy1982 · 17/01/2018 09:57

@scoobysue10, oh I am good at it too. Had some weird pains this morning that are freaking me out now. Say you done some exercise that you don’t normally do or haven’t done in ages example cycling and when you finish you leg muscles feel like their fluttering or almost even throbbing (maybe it’s just me). Well I got a similar pain this morning as I was leaving for work, then sitting on train I had a few short sharp pains. Have had nothing since, no bleeding or spotting, feeling extremely nauseous and boobs are still quite tender, but I am having a mini melt down in my office.

Trying to calm myself and just keeping up with knicker watch

Helen290 · 17/01/2018 10:11

@snowy1982 I have weird pains all the time had sometimes just aching or cramping and sometimes little stabbing pains not for long I think that's normal I guess if it went on for ages and was very painful and you had bleeding that would be worry, but just think lots of things are changing and growing pains and aches are to be expected.

snowy1982 · 17/01/2018 10:20

@helen290, rationally I know your right, my irrational self just panics every time I feel something new. I am used to the very mild almost constant cramps I’ve been having since I found out, so they don’t panic me anymore, but when it is something I haven’t felt before I don’t handle it well initially, i’m generally able to calm myself down though

SC126 · 17/01/2018 10:27

Sorry tmi 5w2d and had diarrhoea this morning. Felt so nauseous as well. Totally put off food. Going to be a long day at work.

Helen290 · 17/01/2018 11:07

@snowy1982 I am just the same I give very good advice but if I feel something new it worries me too I think that's just natural, I am just hoping that my 8 week scan is ok 🙏🏻🤞🏻 I am so worried, only 4 more full days left.

MissSophieB397 · 17/01/2018 11:09

@SC126 I've also had this and I'm 4+6, it's on and off such a nightmare! 😩

snowy1982 · 17/01/2018 11:20

@helen290, only 4 days, that will fly by Smile I will keep everything crossed for you

PassTheAfterEights · 17/01/2018 11:37

Hi all, my I join please? BFP this week with DC1, very early days, due 28/09. Feel a bit funny but no major symptoms other than achey back and frequent, strong headaches right now. Quite nervous but excited. Glad to read all the thoughts on sex - was worrying about that, very much not in the mood but hope that doesn't last for DH's sake! Although think he's more worried than me right now TBH Smile

Think it's OK to continue with Yoga (True with Adriene)? Feel it will help stay relaxed and sane and moving?

FluffySavage · 17/01/2018 12:37

Welcome to the group @PassTheAfterEights and congratulations! My yoga instructor wouldn't let me in the class after I told her I was pregnant, said it was ok to go back after 12 weeks (and she's trained in pregnancy yoga) so you might want to check before carrying on - or find a specific pregnancy yoga video online rather than standard yoga. I'm planning on signing up to the NCT yoga classes at the centre near us as soon as I'm past 12 weeks.

Helen290 · 17/01/2018 12:43

@snowy1982 thank you 😊

Katsanddogs · 17/01/2018 14:16

Welcome passtheaftereights. I've been doing that same yoga series and have been wondering the same. Thanks for that update fluffy. I'd only heard to avoid the upside down and flat on back moves in later pregnancy. Do you think it's ok to do pregnancy yoga now or nothing until 12 weeks?

PassTheAfterEights · 17/01/2018 14:31

Thanks @Kats and @Fluffy, that's really useful. Not advanced enough to understand the banned poses etc properly so think I'll bin True for now and find something preggo specific just in case, better safe than sorry.

Helen290 · 17/01/2018 15:09

I need some advice I work as I nurse in a GP practice so that involves lifting occasionally I was doing a compression dressing and had to soak the patients leg in a full bucket of water and I lifted it to empty it is that too heavy should I not be doing that? Really worrying now.

twobambinos · 17/01/2018 15:12

I don't know if I should join here or October. GrinI suppose it's not the worst dilemma to have

snowy1982 · 17/01/2018 15:30

@helen290, sorry I don’t really know the answer to that. I did read some thinks about lifting and they mentioned a weight of either 20lbs or 20kilos (big difference I know so not really much help) and said if you lift things in the correct way you should be fine but to just try and avoid really heavy lifting as much as you can. Check with dr google but I think your ok.

Also think the concern with lifting is more to do with you damaging yourself than damaging baby but could be wrong there

Helen290 · 17/01/2018 15:39

@snowy1982 heavy lifting can cause miscarriage if done on a regular basis with poor technique but I can't remember if I used good or bad technique I did it without thinking lol 🙈😔 I can't imagine one bucket of water would cause I problem!.

FluffySavage · 17/01/2018 15:40

@Katsanddogs personally I think they don't like you in the class in case the worst does happen as that's more likely in the first 12 weeks. They don't want to get sued... I've not done any mainly because of the nausea and tiredness! I would contact an instructor to check if your not sure, better safe then sorry.

Sals27 · 17/01/2018 15:42

Join both @twobambinos Grin Whats your due date?

twobambinos · 17/01/2018 15:58

Sals if I knew that Grin my two dds were overdue. I think my lmp Was 23rd of December but that was a withdrawal bleed from stopping the pill mid pack. Grin end of September start of October anyway I guess. Oh why why do I not have patience to wait and test and find out a bit later

missamy94 · 17/01/2018 16:15

I know this is tmi but my diarrhoea is driving me insane! I'm 4 +5 please tell me it gets better??
