Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

@fluffy sorry I missed your post before I posted!

Evening ladies. I have a question and not sure from googling. I am only about 6 weeks pregnant, so I early days but feeling very achey, a little like a period cramp. Is it to use a hot water bottle do you know? I know you shouldn’t increase your body temp by too much but is localised temperature ok on my lower back? Thank you

nk1605 · 16/01/2018 18:49

@Bec86 as long as the hot water bottle isn't boiling then I don't see why not :) I read it's only things like a sauna or hot tub you shouldn't use, things that will raise your core body temp. A warm hot water bottle would be fine I'd say

Bec86 · 16/01/2018 18:56

Thank you. That’s just the reassurance I n ended. Hot water bottle here I come Smile

Bec86 · 16/01/2018 18:57

That was meant to say needed. Whoops

Scoobysue10 · 16/01/2018 20:10

Started get period like pains tonight. I'm sure it's just stretching but really don't remember getting them with my other two pregnancies.
These 12hr shifts sure are taking it out of me. So tired.

nk1605 · 16/01/2018 20:23

Does anyone recommend prenatal vitamins? I'm currently taking 10ug Vitamin D and 400ug Folic Acid. But I've been looking at the vitamin list on some pregnancy vitamins and there are a hell of a lot more on there! Is it worth getting them?

nk1605 · 16/01/2018 20:24

@Scoobysue hope you feel better soon, take it easy! How many weeks are you?

Scoobysue10 · 16/01/2018 20:36

Hi nk1605.
I have always taken pregnacare vitamins when pregnant.

I am 7 wks +2. I have felt better today so been doing more at work.

Helen290 · 16/01/2018 20:50

Pregnacare max is very good expensive but has everything you need

TheBlindspot · 16/01/2018 21:05

I take Pregnacare Max too. Got them last week on Boots 3 for 2.

nk1605 · 16/01/2018 21:07

Thanks! Will go pick some up tomorrow. I have a huge stash of folic acid and vit D which seems a waste but would rather make sure I'm getting all the vitamins I need.

snowy1982 · 16/01/2018 21:10

I’ve been taking pregnacare plus, but when current pack runs out plan to get the max ones (they didn’t have them when I first went to get them).

@scoobysue10, hope the pains ease up soon. Was just discussing cramping with DH, saying that although I know it’s too be expected due to stretching etc I still can’t help worrying about it

Vap0 · 16/01/2018 21:22

Hello!!
Please can I join?
Congratulations all!
I’m 5+1 today with baby 2
Super anxious this week as I have had 2 losses in the past before baby 1 at 4+6 and 5+5. So just everything crossed for now. I read recently that if you’ve managed to have a love birth the miscarriage risk goes down from 1 in 4 to 1 in 20, so here’s hoping....
We have a scan booked a week on Saturday which feels like forever away.
Best of luck to everyone Flowers
I’ll read through over the next few days and try to catch up with everyone’s stories.
Has anyone created a secret Facebook page yet?

Smile

Snowy1982.
I am just so worried something will go wrong. Didn't have these feelings with my other two pregnancies.
As I am 38 i'm thinking something might be wrong with baby that it wonto develop properly. My future is uncertain, don't know where I will be living when baby arrives.
Just too many things to worry about.

Pinkslink17 · 16/01/2018 21:58

Hi guys, sorry I've been absent for a number of days due to work stress and feeling so ill! Can't bare the thought of sitting in the doctors for up to an hour feeling like this (over crowded area) just to be given some tablets I could get from the super market, can anyone recommend some after anti sickness tablets to take that I can get over the counter? 6+3, was hoping to avoid sickness getting this bad!

Hi all.

Hope everyone’s well? I can’t stop sleeping atm —much to DPs delight— still very slight cramps but it’s to be expected I suppose.

Katsanddogs · 17/01/2018 01:12

pink I always took ranitidine for my reflux before I was pregnant and found it the best over the counter. It's safe in pregnancy. Brand name Zantac.

Anyone else having to pee every two mins!!

PinkyPromise77 · 17/01/2018 06:09

Im still worrying about the cramps too @snowy1982... I wonder if they get worse or feel worse when I’m tired or walked/done a lot...

This early Scan can’t come soon enough... still week and a half to go 🙈

snowy1982 · 17/01/2018 06:18

@scoobysue10, are you able to get an early scan (even if you have to pay for it)? I don’t think you have anything to be concerned about but if it gives you some reassurance it might be worth it.

ThorsMistress · 17/01/2018 07:28

Can anyone else not stop sleeping?! I’ve been having an hour or 2 nap in the afternoon and then still falling asleep early at night!

Helen290 · 17/01/2018 07:59

I have had to stop my sleeping in the day I was having naps for an hour each day then sleeping all night but my morning sickness seems to get worse for some reason after I have a nap, I am sick all day so I'm trying to avoid making it worse, but now without my nap I'm so exhausted I find it hard to stay awake after 7 lol.

Helen290 · 17/01/2018 08:16

Just need some advice since finding out I'm pregnant me and my husband haven't had sex, after my MC I have been to scared to do it I know that's insane but because I know some women bleed after and seeing that would make me worry like mad, but even tho my husband has been patient he is starting to get frustrated it's been nearly 8 weeks of course I do other things with him but even that is starting to get a little boring.
Have other people been having sex with no problems I.e bleeding? Or anyone had bleeding after? I have my 8 week scan Monday and midwife appointment if everything is ok 🤞🏻🙏🏻, so of course I'll speak to the midwife but I don't like making my husband unhappy he has been very patient.

Sals27 · 17/01/2018 08:42

@Helen290 Weve had sex a couple of times (I am so not feeling it since being pg) and no issues or bleeding or anything
