Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

@excitingtimesahead, there doesn’t sound like there’s anything to be worried about at this stage Smile

Llondbol · 15/01/2018 17:39

Had the ultrasound at the Early Pregnancy Unit today. They could see a yolk sack but couldn't see an embryo 😭 I've got to go back in a week to see if there's been any development - our only hope is that the ovulation day is out and we're a bit too early still to pick anything up, but it's not looking good 😭 Please cross everything for me for Monday.

Has anyone else experienced this? I thought I was 7weeks+4 but maybe we are still only in week 6....

missamy94 · 15/01/2018 17:45

Just been to see my doctor to see if the midwife would see me earlier than the normal 8 week but it turns out the next available appointment is on 22nd Feb when I will be 9 week 6 days! She has left a message for the midwife to say if she gets an earlier appointment can she phone and let me know, might be tempted with the EPU when I'm around 7 week just to make sure!

snowy1982 · 15/01/2018 17:50

@Llondbol, I will keep everything crossed for you Flowers

Llondbol · 15/01/2018 19:48

Thank you @snowy1982 😘 Reading down the thread I can see everything went well with yours; fab news xx

Hardheadedwoman39 · 15/01/2018 20:16

@snowy1982 so pleased it all went well today, you can breathe out now!

Or just start worrying about the next thing 🙄

snowy1982 · 15/01/2018 20:31

@hardheadedwoman39, I think it will be breath for a day or two and then start worrying again Smile

Hi all
Congratulations on your bfp.
I am currently surfing the wave between positive and doomed. Had a MC in August and am over analysing every twinge. Had some mild AF like pain last week and a tiny bit of spotting. Thought AF was on her way. Did a test on Friday and got 1-2 weeks pregnant. Still getting AF like pains on and off... weeing and drinking a lot + nausea every now and then... Apps saying due 23/9 but can’t help panicking as mc at 8 weeks. Had a scan at 6 weeks and it never developed... any idea how early a scan can pick up a heartbeat???

@user, I am 6+3 today and saw heartbeat on scan this morning. Before scan midwife did warn not to be too concerned if we didn’t see it at this stage as sometimes it just doesnt show, she said if it didn’t show but all else looked well they would scan me again in a week. But we did see it so it is possible at 6 weeks plus a few days

Katsanddogs · 15/01/2018 21:08

Sorry you're scan didn't go so well Llondbol. I'm keeping everything crossed for you for monday x

Don't worry user you're not alone. Lots of us here pregnant after a miscarriage and panicking over everything. I think you're most likely to see the heart beat from 6 weeks, I'm going to try and get a scan from 7 weeks.

user1489606775 · 15/01/2018 21:20

Ah thank you... it’s so hard not to panic!
I was thinking of trying to get an appointment at 7 weeks.
It’s hard to be positive yet cautious without being negative... does that make sense??

Llondbol · 16/01/2018 11:53

Thank you @Katsanddogs and @snowy1982 xx

snowy1982 · 16/01/2018 12:06

@user yes that does make sense. Since getting BFP I have been trying to be happy but realistic without being pessimistic. It’s very difficultSmile

Hey! Has anyone had blood test results for 10/11 dpo? I got mine done and my hcg level is 28. I'm worried this isn't high enough. Due to get another test done on Thursday to compare. My frers seem to be getting darker though (top one is 10 dpo and bottom is 12 dpo) and I was reassured by that until I got my blood results 😥

@nk1605 hey have you missed a period yet ? I think as far as I have read, the lines become all the more stronger post the day of your missed period.

nk1605 · 16/01/2018 13:45

@excitingtimesahead Im not sure when I was due, going by Fertility Friend app it's Thurs but it could be sooner. My cycle lengths are irregular and I had a mc last month so I'm really unsure now! I'm only guessing I'm 12 dpo from the day of my last positive OPK. I wasnt temping so can't confirm, I could have ovulated later.

snowy1982 · 16/01/2018 13:55

Where did you get bloods done? surely they would have advised you of any problems when giving results?

nk1605 · 16/01/2018 14:27

@snowy it was just the receptionist at my GP. She gave me the result but said the number 28 doesn't mean anything to her and GP has requested me to get bloods done again on Thursday. I think it might be because I had a mc last month so he is making sure levels are rising. Just wondering if anyone else had hcg level results around the same dpo

Fia256 · 16/01/2018 14:37

@nk1605 while I'm no professional, I'd say try and not worry too much until you've had your repeat test done at least. especially as your only very early. Everyone's hcg levels have to start off from somewhere, and levels double every 48 hours. So the fact your only around 12dpo should hopefully be nothing to worry about. Although I can completely understand how your feeling Thanks

snowy1982 · 16/01/2018 14:52

@nk1605, obvs every GPs surgery is different but in my GPs if results for anything are a real concern the GP rings themselves, so maybe you can take a bit of reassurance from that.

I didn’t have a blood test though so can’t give any advice on levels, my GP doesn’t see me at all. When I rang to tell about BFP they just told me to contact midwife

FluffySavage · 16/01/2018 16:12

@nk1605 I've had a quick google and found this table for expected HCG levels - for 10/11dpo it looks as though you are in the expected range, so theres probably no need to panic.

Good news on the scan Snowy1982! I'm slightly jealous that some of you have seen your babies already, DH wants to wait for the 12 week scan Sad

Helen290 · 16/01/2018 16:43

@nk1605 the hcg number in itself doesn't really mean anything at the beginning they want to see it double in a 48hour period and continue too so I would worry so much about the number if it's viable it should double in the next two days, I wish you luck 🙂

Helen290 · 16/01/2018 16:44

Wouldn't worry

nk1605 · 16/01/2018 16:58

Thank you for the reassurance! I just googled the hcg ranges and seems to be very broad range at this stage, anywhere from 5 to 50. So puts my mind at ease
