Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

Anyone else getting back ache at all!??I am 7 weeks 1 day I don't get it all the time I seem to get it when I walk any distance and occasionally when sitting not severe just feels like pressure on my lumbar area, I only get occasional cramps sorry Tmi mostly after going toilet and I have nausea on and off all day it's bad in the morning and evenings. Just get worried about back ache but from research apparently u do in the first trimester?.

snowy1982 · 14/01/2018 16:22

I have had lower back pretty much constantly since i got my BFP. It’s not very sore but is there every day. I do have a history of back pain though so I think it’s a mixture of pregnacy and my recurring problems. Since it’s not too bad I’m not getting too concerned about it

missamy94 · 14/01/2018 16:51

Never thought I would join a pregnancy thread again! After my MC at 5 +6 I've just found out I am 4 + 2 I know it's very early and I'm trying not to get too excited as I know it could easily end up the same as last time but I have everything crossed and I feel so different in my self this time around! My back is playing up something rotten and my boobs are really sore! The app I'm using says I'm due 14th September!

OverseastepMom · 14/01/2018 18:04

@glastofairy1. Glad you found out what you rash is. The only running I did this week was running a bath!! I left work early on Wednesday, with the best made plans and then had a bath in the end! Made it to the gym once, but am just sooooo sleeeeepy!

@coastalchick Wedding plans sound exciting- a good distraction and sometimes really good friends 'kind of knowing' is good, so you feel supported.

Have a good week!

zooz · 14/01/2018 18:28

Congrats @nk1605 Smile looks like mine did yesterday at 10DPO. Going to keep testing because I still can't believe it!

Every now and then I get a very short wave of nausea. Anyone shared their news yet? Only DH and my best friend know and I'm keeping it that way until my 12 week scan. Saw my parents today and was so tempted to say something!

Brownbear84 · 14/01/2018 18:45

We've told my best friend my other halfs best friend and both sets of parents. We won't tell anyone else now till the 12 week scan xx

OverseastepMom · 14/01/2018 19:03

I've told my employer- only because she is extremely sweet and understanding and faraway BFF. Waiting till 12 weeks to tell family and maybe 20 weeks to tell the rest. So excited/nervous

GlastoFairy1 · 14/01/2018 19:09

@OverseastepMom I can relate! The run I had planned today turned into a gentle walk up the Lane followed by a 2 hour nap on the sofa. Tbh I don't think my boobs could handle a run, they feel pretty beaten up as it is

No nausea yet for me which is a relief - I hate being sick 🤢 Hope it passes soon for all you ladies who have it already

missamy94 · 14/01/2018 19:13

I only found out today and I've told my OH my parents and my two best friends, just as a support but no one else will be told till I have a scan

zooz · 14/01/2018 19:17

I've thought about telling work. I'm due to go on a course soon which has cost them a couple hundred pounds, and it will help me in an additional role they would like me to do. There's a few others going. I feel like I should say something so the course can be offered to someone else who will be able to fulfil the additional role instead. I'll be 7 weeks when the course starts and it's one day a week for the next 5 weeks after that. Any advice appreciated!

Sals27 · 14/01/2018 19:57

I've just seen my mum and siblings for the first time since I found out and I would have loved to have said something. We're in 2 minds atm when to share the news as we know everyone will be so excited we won't get any peace. Plus we're going skiing when I'm 14 weeks. Undecided how much i'll be participating but if I feel able to plan to do a few leisurely easy runs. I'd quite like to make that decision by myself and everyone is bound to have an opinion on it so we thought maybe when we return would be best to announce. But that is forever away Confused

zooz Will the course benefit you in the future? If it would, I would definitely do the course.Perhaps the additional role might be available again after mat leave and you would be able to move right into it?

zooz · 14/01/2018 20:27

@Sals27 yes it would definitely benefit me in the future and look good on my CV. And opens up job options for the future. The other thing is I'm on a fixed term contract which ends as my mat leave ends Blush so they won't be getting more than a few months benefit from me doing this course. I think I'm going to have to say something otherwise I'll look like a pisstaker.

nk1605 · 14/01/2018 20:29

Has anyone had to take amoxicillin (penicillin) early on in pregnancy? I have been putting it off and off, I have a tooth abscess and was prescribed them but I'm scared to take them in case they affect things so early on or cause me to have another mc

Scoobysue10 · 14/01/2018 20:42

Evening ladies.
I am 7 wks today.
Have found eating ginger biscuits iseem really helping with my morning sickness.
Had no sickness since yesterday morning.
Managing to eat more sensible foods and drink water which is good.
Tiredness quite bad at the minute.
As well as working full time. We are preparing house to go on the market at the end of the mth.
Have lived here 10 yrs and hadn't realised I am a big hoalder so plenty of car journeys to the tip.
Have a date for my scan on 23rd Feb. Can't wait to have it to make sure all is well.

Katsanddogs · 14/01/2018 20:51

nk penicillin is totally safe in pregnancy, much better for you and bean than an infection!

nk1605 · 14/01/2018 21:14

@katz thanks for the reassurance. I'm so scared of doing anything wrong or taking anything that would harm my chances of this little bean sticking! But you are right, I definitely can't risk a worse infection.

Katsanddogs · 14/01/2018 21:26

I know the feeling, praying every day for this one!

nk1605 · 14/01/2018 22:10

How far along are you now? I was hoping once I got past the stage I got to last month that the nerves would subside but I have a feeling they will stick around a lot longer!

missamy94 · 14/01/2018 22:13

I know this may sound daft but is it safe to sleep on my front in the early stages? I'm sure I read an article not long ago saying it wasn't safe for baby but then I might have dreamt it. I have previously had a MC and want to make sure I don't put myself and baby at risk? Sorry again if it sounds stupid

JHD79 · 14/01/2018 22:21

Hi hope it's ok if I join too.
I'm 38 and got a positive test on 11 Jan with a due date of 20 Sept. been trying for four months and it's the first positive test I've ever had so feeling rather nervous.
Had some spotting the last few days was light red but darker this morning which I'm hoping was just old blood but not sure. Keep feeling a bit dizzy and have slightly tender nipples, and also a bit of cramping but not feeling too tired.
Is anyone else experiencing loose bowel movements? I've felt a little nauseous but mostly my tummy has felt upset, I've had some loose bowel movements over the past few days but earlier today this turned into diarrohea. Not heard many mention this so wondering if it's normal?
Going to ring the docs tomorrow and see what they say. Not told anyone other than my boyfriend yet as I'm scared of chemical pregnancy and don't want to get hopes up!

Katsanddogs · 15/01/2018 00:32

nk I'm only 4+4 so still got a couple more weeks until I'm past where I was last time. I'm bouncing between being really optimistic and panicking. I overly researched whether it was safe to have a lemsip the other day. I'm hoping I'll calm down after a scan but think there'll be a little worry until baby is in my arms. How far are you?
missamy I can't see why it would hurt to sleep on your front. I usually do but my boobs are too painful at the min anyway!
Congratulations JHD. I've had a dodgy tummy too, my app says it's normal and caused by the hormones.

I think my insomnia is kicking in now!

Scoobysue10 · 15/01/2018 06:16

I am 7+1. I have had loose stools for almost 2 wks now. Didn't have it with my other two pregnancies. I do have IBS and normally constipated to at least i'might clear. Lol

cakeanytype · 15/01/2018 06:26

I've jus started with it this morning.. first constipated.. now loose ...

missamy94 · 15/01/2018 06:52

Kats thank you, yes my boobs are sore too, I got about an hours sleep last night, tossing and turning, I think my back is the main problem. I might have to invest in a pregnancy pillow to help support my back so I can't have many more nights like I had last night

Helen290 · 15/01/2018 07:00

@snowy1982 that's made me feel better knowing someone else has back ache was just a little worried.
