Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

Hi everyone, can I join? I got my BFP on NY Eve, due date 5th September. It's an ivf pregnancy so have an early scan when I'm 7 weeks, haven't had any convincing symptoms yet but have POAS a few times this week and the line's getting stronger, so that's reassuring!

jennifer86 · 07/01/2018 15:01

@monathemoaner I can empathise! I would start with veg, dried fruit, baked beans, plenty of water and some gentle exercise. If that doesn't work I'm pretty sure you can take movicol in pregnancy (it's sachets you mix with water and is basically just fibre!) but I'd check with a pharmacist first if dietary changes aren't working.

Hardheadedwoman39 · 07/01/2018 15:08

Hi @Natataliejason I e had slight cramping today and twinges and odd stabbing/pulling pain but no more brown blood....I've gone into googling overdrive!

Over the last two weeks my bbs have been really full and sensitive but not today - which is now worrying me.....

MonaTheMoaner · 07/01/2018 15:59

My symptoms are coming and going. After last nights constipation dilemma my entire stomach and back feels like a pulled muscle so I’m in a bit of pain today there.

For those with sore boobs, Asda non wired and soft cup boobs like sports bras are a godsend. I got a white one and a black one £6 each and my boobs finally feel ok in a bra!

Natataliejason · 07/01/2018 16:07

Hi ya thanks for reply
Same ere my brown blood has stopped so I'm just going to go to scan tue and hopersonal everything will be fine Ivery gone into Google overdrive also lol so many same questions with different Answers but confusing tho xx

GlastoFairy1 · 07/01/2018 16:08

Mona, I'm the same, just been drinking loooaads of water and that seems to help

Kelsopink & Overseastepmom - so nice to know I'm not the only 40+ mum-to-be! My fertility consultant made me feel all but dried up so it's reassuring to know it's not that uncommon

My symptoms are generally the same but I did just cry when my DH took our Xmas tree to the tip. Packed the decs away v carefully because getting them out next December might not be quite as straightforward 😂

Namechangedtoscream · 07/01/2018 16:37

Ooh is there 2 threads full of us?! Current EDD 5th will find out more at my 6 week scan on Friday

MonaTheMoaner · 07/01/2018 17:40

I have my scan on Friday too namechangedtoscream. So excited and simultaneously terrified.

Scoobysue10 · 07/01/2018 18:58

I can'take wait to have my scan just to know I only have one in there. Lol.
My first two pregnancies were completely different and I have a boy and girl.
This pregnancy so far symptoms are a mixture of the first two pregnancies lol

Stomach cramping has now stopped.
Boobs still big and sore. Wearing non wired bras as more comfortable. Have had backache today and beginning to think I am slightly mad for doing this all again after 10 yrs. Lol

OverseastepMom · 07/01/2018 20:22

Glastofairy- my doctor was completely the same! I had blood tests the week b4 my fortieth to see if anything was stopping us getting pregnant & the results CE back when I had turned 40 and every sentence he began was 'Now you're 40...' Basically written me off! I'll be glad to go back next week & tell him about my bfp! I keep fit and look after myself & now have time to devote to a baby. All the best with your pregnancy. We should compare notes on milestones, scans etc as I don't have a clue!

Pixiedust25 · 08/01/2018 11:01

Is anyone else feeling really bloated? I think I’m around five weeks and have such a round hard belly at the moment!

snowy1982 · 08/01/2018 12:04

No bloat for me, but the heartburn is back

snowy1982 · 08/01/2018 12:07

No bloat for me, but the heartburn is back

dingdongdigeridoo · 08/01/2018 18:09

I’m bloated too. Am wearing trousers with a stretchy waist as jeans just press on my stomach.

Went to see the doctor about my folate anemia. He’s prescribed me a higher dose of folic acid, but didn’t do blood tests or anything. I’m kind of worried in case I’m not absorbing the extra.

OverseastepMom · 08/01/2018 18:25

dingdongdigeridoo- how far along are you?

I am worried about my anemia too, but mine is iron deficient anemia. Off to see Drs tomorrow. I am only 5 weeks and 5 days.

I have an appointment with a 'nurse practitioner' as there were no Dr appointments going. I am guessing that she will have the same knowledge as a GP
Fingers crossed for you

Pinkslink17 · 08/01/2018 18:44

Hi everyone, and welcome new comers - congratulations on your BFPs! Thanks for the advice on my lumpy boob the other day, I've been to the doctors and he's found 3 😩 going to the breast clinic next week but it's probably nothing to worry about, I'm also very bloated! I look huge! I've told the seniors I work with today, I'm a manager so it's more for support than anything else. Other than that we've told our parents and our closest friends. My nausea is definitely increasing each day along with exhaustion..I was speaking to a senior today who wasn't sympathetic at all and said unless I'm hooked up to a drip I don't need time off! Surprised as she had a difficult time herself, but claims that because her previous employer expected her in even when she was throwing up constantly, so should I! I'll need to tell directors of the company soon but hope to get support rather than grief that they will need to get mat cover!

I'm exhausted today too 😬 Pinkslink your colleague sounds a bit of a nightmare 😂 - you should do whatever's right for you.

Overseastepmom, definitely up for sharing milestones etc. Right now I just want to sleep lol. Still no nausea through, think it's a bit early, I'm 5 weeks today

Fia256 · 08/01/2018 19:17

Pinkslink glad dr thinks the lumps should be nothing to worry about but also glad your getting it checked out further. Just what you want during the excitement of a new pregnancy! Also, your not alone with the arsehole seniors at work. When telling my manager (for the second time now) that I have an early scan next week then midwife week after, she tried to fob me off with having to take it off either as unpaid or annual leave!!! I wasn't 100% sure on what the rules were as it's been 6 years since I had DD, but I soon found the policies on the clinical intranet and quoted it back to her she apparently didn't realise that i was talking about those appointments 🤔 (not sure what else I could of possibly been on about!)

Pinkslink17 · 08/01/2018 19:35

@GlastoFairy1 I'm only 5 weeks and 1 day and it's literally hit today 😩 putting it down to a mixture of hormones and stress of going back to work.

@Fia256 that's awful! It's really disheartening isn't it, you just presume everyone will be supportive and happy for you!

Got my scan date through the post today. I didn't expect it as I haven't had my midwife appt yet or even been told the date for it. Seems that Colchester hospital do things the odd way round. I'll be having my scan at 13 weeks on 9th March.

Scoobysue10 · 08/01/2018 20:15

Very exciting niclw for your scan.
Not sure how it all works now as changed since I had my son 10 yrs ago.
I am 6 wks now and not heard anything.
My anxiety seems to be improving although still worrying at times about what my future holds.
But girls and manager at work are very supportive.

Flamingo84 · 08/01/2018 20:19

@niclw that’s exciting! It does seem like every area has their own way of doing things!

I’ve booked in for an early scan with a private medical centre. I’m too paranoid/excited/impatient to wait for the first one on the NHS. I’m going on 27th Jan as I’ll be almost 9 weeks by then.

Whenisitmytime · 08/01/2018 21:40

Can I very tentatively join you?
5 weeks today & have apt with gp on wed. Had some light pink bleeding on wiping on sat just the once & none since!
I’m on knicker watch constantly & am just taking it 1 trip to the toilet at a time!!

Scoobysue10 · 08/01/2018 21:51

Congratulations whenisitmytime and welcome to the group.
I'm 6 wks and still on nicker watch.
Haven't had any bleeding just paranoid.

JodieB28 · 08/01/2018 21:56

Hi everyone, so today my husband and I found out we are expecting our first child, due 10th September. We are absolutely thrilled but very nervous at the same time :-)
