I’m not even ‘REALLY’ overdue but I’m fed up.

40+2, been having cramps and tightenings for about a week and a half but they never turn into anything.

Had a sweep yesterday morning, it was quite frankly horrible and I like to think I have quite a high pain threshold. But nothing... nada... not even a thing.

I feel like I’ve been hit in the crotch with a cricket bat. All of the stretch marks I have, have now gone red angry and itchy...

I want to throw my phone out the window every time somebody texts me.

And on top of it all apparently everybody else is ‘fed up’ of waiting too...

Somebody give me strength.

Me please!

I’m only 39+6 today but I’ve also been having twinges on and off for the last 3 weeks. I was so convinced that I’d have him by now.
I had a sweep today and it was bloody horrible! My cervix was favourable and 1cm dilated but still posterior so my midwife had to “pull” it towards her which was as horrific as it sounds. Now my pelvis is killing, although I have had a show. I’m so sick of waiting around.
Hopefully we’ll have our babies this weekend! 🤞🏼

Ah yes, 40 weeks today, had sweep on Tuesday, got another on Monday.

Honestly, so many twinges , but nothing happening.

Lost some mucusy stuff in the last couple of days, but not enough (although I lost my plug properly a few weeks ago, so perhaps it won’t have grown back fully, I don’t know)

Baby is 2/5 (or 3/5, I can’t remember) engaged, was only dilated to 1cm and cervix was 2cm I think she said. I think I’m in for the long haul. Fingers crossed I’m wrong though - this is second baby after all, but every day feels like a week at the moment!

I'm also a couple of days overdue and beginning to get very uncomfortable! Had an attempted sweep yesterday but cervix was too far back. Occasional twinges but nothing ever seems to come of them!

41 weeks today with my first. Head not engaged yet so can’t have sweep. Having various tightenings/aches but not sure if just because I’m so heavy! Bit bored of being slow, tired, heavy & having continuous messages asking if he’s here yet!

About ready to murder the PIL as they have now reached the point where they just text emojis such as:
‘👶🏻💣!!! 🤡😂😂’

Then start calling if there isn't an answer within an hour.

They have told DH they expect to be told as soon as I think I'm in labour. I've told DH they can fuck off!

I've had cramps and tightenings for a couple of weeks now, but resulting in nothing except a bad mood on my part!

Same here ladies - 40+6 today and nothing happening. Fed up of people saying they're fed up waiting!
Saw midwife on Thursday and she said the only method that has had any scientific proof of working through trials is nipple stimulation... tried that today and just got a bit bored

40+5 here as well. Had a sweep on Wednesday evening, 3/5th engaged as of then and I finally lost my plug today. Had some cramps but that's it. Nothing meaningful at all.
And it's rained and hailed here so if I go into labour tonight the roads are going to be dangerous (rural area). sigh.

Not overdue but being induced soon can i join in? 👀 My whinge is that i can't sleep and my stomach feels like a bag of cats... fed up too

My little girl is about 3/5 engaged apparently. Cervix soft but still 2cm long on Thursday. Lots of mucous overnight...

But I refuse to get ‘excited’ over anything anymore. I only then end up disappointed. For instance the midwife said it was a ‘really good sweep’ so I left convinced it was going to work... that’ll teach me!

Should of said cervix soft 1cm dilated, 2cm long.

Morning all

Had some low down stretching sort of pains overnight, along with some twinges in the bump but I'm not holding out hope for anything as I'll just end up disappointed.

Think possibly the baby might be engaged now, but was only 4/5 on Tuesday so don't want to hold out hope.

Looks like another day of birthing ball bouncing ahead!

However much I can’t wait to meet DS2 , today would be a really bad day for him to come , I have exciting Christmas plans all day! Let’s hope he’s listening!

jmspc2015, do you think it's doing anything for you? I've definitely got my doubts but it can't hurt.

It's just started snowing/hailing here which means that probably it's going to be D Day after all, and we'll have a nightmare of a time getting to the hospital then!

DeadDoorpost, hows the weather looking for you today? I assume worse than yesterday as we didn't have anything much here then.

@jmscp2015 I’ve been having twinges since 2.15 this morning, but I’m just going to try and ignore them and get on with my day, I’ve been looking forward to it for too long! I’m 99% sure they won’t amount to anything today.... 🙈

I was 4/5ths engaged at 38 weeks and basically constantly need to wee. Unable to sleep. Very crotchety. Terrible cricket bat fanny. Lower back has just given up. I've been really well all pregnancy so this is new!

I've had a couple of evenings of twinges, tightenings, last night I thought it was all go , lower tummy pains, back, legs, couldn't sit down but all relaxed after a hot shower.

Meh. Everytime I text someone they express displeasure that its not a baby photo. Husband is driving me mad undoing all my lovely nesting by messing up the house.

Oh my, I remember this so vividly.

The incessant texts "any news?" As if I would somehow forget to tell people, my mum calling twice a day and informing me "now I've never been as pregnant as you, so I can no longer advise" I swear she thought that unless she reminded me on a 12 hour cycle, that I'd entirely forget to have the baby.

I needed a wee so often I stopped leaving the house. I took a cab the 5 minute walk to the shops - I was waking 5 or 6 times a night to wee. And bloody hell, the mucous plug is a gift that just keeps giving.

I almost lost sight of the fact I was going to have a baby at the end of it, like I was just stuck in eternal overdueness.

DD arrived at 41+4 she was perfect.

I know me telling you that it's nearly over means nothing right now. But truly, your babies are so nearly ready and they'll make their appearance in their own time, but their 'own time' will definitely be within a week or so!

Anonevent yes! What's with all the texts asking "any news?" ... one friend now just texts every.single.day simply saying "?????".
As if I would forget to tell people the baby was here!!

I think the making of nice plans sounds like a good way to get things moving - what does your Christmassy weekend involve tootsie?

@LaBelleSausage I have no idea! Sometimes when I have a twinge it seems to ramp it up that little bit more? So exactly, can’t hurt can can it?

I think I missed the snow here I was up half the night weeing and losing plug so I had a ‘lie in’ of til around half 7... soon to be a thing of the past hey

@tootsieglitterballs that’s exactly what I’ve started to do, ignoring them because I’m angry at them for not turning into anything more than a twinge! Lol

My phone is going to go out the window at some point though, I love how people just text and say ‘no baby?’ Or just simply ‘baby’. Like your going to say oh of course yes, sorry! I’ve had three babies since you last text and I’ve just forgotten to tell anybody about them all! and breatheeeeee

Just had a lovely chunk of plug fall out to add to my twinges, so looks like we're on the same page jmscp2015. I know that it doesn't actually mean anything, but I'm clinging to straws now.

Told DH I think it could actually be this weekend and his response was 'ok, but you do know it's Liverpool v Chelsea at 5pm'.

Poor lamb, I think he's fed up with waiting. Shockingly I don't feel too much sympathy for him!!

I'm a bit tempted to just randomly start replying to texts that say 'Baby?' with a photo of some newborn from google images

Only 40+1 but had frustrating night. Went for midwife appointment and sweep yesterday. High blood pressure and protein in urine so sent to hospital. Admitted yesterday evening and doctor said I had beginnings of pre-eclampsia and they wanted to induce me. Got partner to bring things in and then didn't nobody came to tell me anything else (just had blood pressure monitored throughout night). Now apparently everything is fine and I can go home once they've done a couple more checks. Happy that I'm not being induced (at least for now) but feel like we got geared up for things to happen soon (and were both quite stressed at different points) and now I've got no idea when baby will be here. Keep worrying it's my fault for misunderstanding last night, not checking about likely timescales etc.

@LaBelleSausage it’s all another step in the right direction. That’s all I’m allowing myself to think! Otherwise I get my hopes up and then dashed again.

My OH is exactly the same, as much as he wouldn’t like dare to admit it ‘soccer saturday’ is very precious to him and he wouldn’t like to miss it.

I am hoping she starts thinking about making an appearance just to annoy him. I’d love something dramatic to happen like my waters go in a big gush just as it’s all about to kick off wishful thinking I know! But I can dream...

Good idea for the baby picture. Or perhaps a nice graphic birth picture would do? Or shall we start replying ‘no, no baby but I’m passing a lot of mucus plug, here take a look...’ with a picture... that might shut them up

Oh @prettygirlincrimsonrose how frustrating for you. I know exactly what you mean, getting all geared up then to be told ‘nope, go Home’ must be so frustrating for you! But good to hear everything has settled down now.

I sent this photo with a birth announcement to a particularly persistent family member constantly asking for news..... it seems to have stopped the texts for now
