Does anybody overdue want to moan? *lighthearted*

I’m not even ‘REALLY’ overdue but I’m fed up.

40+2, been having cramps and tightenings for about a week and a half but they never turn into anything.

Had a sweep yesterday morning, it was quite frankly horrible and I like to think I have quite a high pain threshold. But nothing... nada... not even a thing.

I feel like I’ve been hit in the crotch with a cricket bat. All of the stretch marks I have, have now gone red angry and itchy...

I want to throw my phone out the window every time somebody texts me.

And on top of it all apparently everybody else is ‘fed up’ of waiting too...

Somebody give me strength. GrinGrin

Still pregnant here as well. Now 40+5, same old tightenings and feeling like I need the loo constantly.

Is anybody else really struggling with swelling? I mean my feet and ankles / hands have always been a bit swollen throughout the pregnancy but the size of them at the moment is quite frankly appalling. I can’t get ANY of my shoes on, so it makes it difficult getting out of the house. They used to go down overnight as I sleep with them up on two pillows, but that’s not happening anymore either. I’ve added photos of said feet (sorry about them, and my disgusting old pedicure. I can’t reach my feet surprisingly. Lol)

I just feel so awful now as well. Been bouncing on my ball all morning but now trying my feet up for a bit but it’s not helping so I don’t know why I’m bothering. Honestly with these feet, my back, and the pressure the baby is putting on my pelvis when I stand up it really is a struggle to actually walk anywhere at the moment. SadSad

Still pregnant, still no signs Sad I want to cry! However both mum & hubby have appointments today in hospitals other than where I'm headed if it happens, so sods law says if it's going to happen spontaneously it will be today!

@jmscp2015 my swelling also seems to be worse over the last few days but I can't think that I'm doing anything different. Everything is just conspiring to make us feel worse I think!

I am also trying to stop myself panicking about induction, have been told it will be Friday if nothing starts beforehand Sad

jmscp2015 · 27/11/2017 11:09

@DiscombobulatedWomble it’s awful isn’t it, as if things aren’t bad enough comfort wise, you then get really really swollen when you thought you where swollen before.

I’m stuck between panicking about induction and increased chance of intervention. And just wishing somebody would induce me so it would at least start something off... Sad I really am that fed up at this point. I could cry.

40+5 and going mad.

I got myself so upset yesterday I had no idea if the baby had moved all day or not, so ended up having to go in for reduced movements because it was hours and I hadn’t felt anything. I just want it all to be over and done with now.

I was in a really good head place a few days ago, ready to go and do it and now I feel like it’s all gone wrong.

I’ve also got a stinking cold and feeling beyond sorry for myself.

tootsieglitterballs · 27/11/2017 13:56

Had my second sweep today... 40+3

Currently 2cm dilated, cervix pretty much totally thinned out, she did a ‘good sweep’ apparently , so fingers crossed something happens this time!

DryHeave · 27/11/2017 14:51

Fingers crossed @tootsie.

I’ve had three since Weds where each time I’ve been 2cms dilated, cervix thinned, all signs favourable etc etc. Massive mucuous plug lost. It really got my hopes up and still nothing.

tootsieglitterballs · 27/11/2017 15:13

Oh no @DryHeave - that must be so frustrating!

I’m not getting my hopes up, but I’m desperate for it to happen this week so I can try and avoid a c section next week.

I’m back for another sweep on Friday and then again on Monday if he hasn’t made an appearance.

pomadas87 · 27/11/2017 15:16

I declined a sweep last week (I'm regretting this now) but will have one tomorrow - are they really really uncomfortable?

jmscp2015 · 27/11/2017 15:29

Fingers crossed for you @tootsieglitterballs

Oh god, @DryHeave poor you. Three of the bloody things for none of them to work... then again though I’d practically beg to have another one before Thursday if there was any chance of it working.

@pomadas87 I’m not going to lie to you they’re not a nice experience. But it’s all over fairly quickly.

OP posts:
DryHeave · 27/11/2017 15:30

@pomadas I thought it was going to hurt and for me it didn’t at all. I think it depends on the position of your cervix and if it’s ready. I don’t usually find smears an issue either so think my cervix is usually quite “accessible”.

I’ve had three (well four technically because I had a student do one that had to be re-done) now, varying from taking 10 seconds to over a minute (student midwife). All fine.

tootsieglitterballs · 27/11/2017 16:27

The first one I found very uncomfortable but she had to pull my cervix down slightly....

Today’s was just a bit uncomfortable - slightly worse than a smear, but I find smears ok.

Have had some pinky mucusy stuff so fingers crossed 🤞🏻 it at least reacting with my body!

pomadas87 · 27/11/2017 16:42

Fingers crossed for you tootsie!

Aargh I hate smears and find them very sore so I'm dreading tomorrow - I'm going to have it done though as I'm so desperate and I'll be 10 days overdue!

Aliceinchunderland · 27/11/2017 17:16

I saw the consultant today and she’s booked my induction for term + 12, so 7th Dec. Really, really hoping I’m not still pregnant then, it sounds so far away!
And the doctor wouldn’t do a sweep so I have to wait until Friday to have another one with the midwife.
So I went home and used my foul mood to furiously clean the house. I haven’t even had a twinge today 😩

DotCottonIsMyIdol · 28/11/2017 00:18

Oh @jmscp2015 your poor feet..... I thought I'd escaped that horror so far but just realised my ankles are looking more like canckles this evening. .

I'm still here, getting grumpier by the moment. I'm a bit behind some of you at 39+4 but because I'm an old lady there is some discussion as too how long I'll be able to wait before induction. I'm desperate not to be induced and want this little one out as have been scared half to death about all the risks of going over at my ripe old age of 41.

Not sure there is anything left for me to clean, cook or organise which is probably just as well as I'm feeling exhausted!

DryHeave · 28/11/2017 07:18

No baby progress. My stinking cold has, however, got worse. I’m absolutely at my lowest ebb.

pomadas87 · 28/11/2017 07:28

Flowers DryHeave - I really sympathise with you. Be kind to yourself and try to get that positive headspace back - I know it's hard (I should take my own advice - I'm a bag of anxiety right now!).

I'm going to try and just distract myself today as I'm finding I'm getting panicky if I overthink things ... 41+3 today and still nothing happening Sad

tmc14 · 28/11/2017 08:24

Flowers to those who need them (all of us probably!)

So after a day of nothing happening, contractions started again around half 9 last night. Have been going all night. Slowed again now. Boooo. Was really hoping he’d make an appearance over night. I knew this phase could be slow but was hoping not quite this slow... feeling tired, achy & a bit sorry for myself, but positive that at least things are happening.

Hopefully today will bring some of us some activity/news! x

DiscombobulatedWomble · 28/11/2017 11:29

Just had my first sweep at 41+2.. apparently I am 2cm dilated but not very thinned out.. like everyone else, was told it was a "good" sweep but given all of you seem to have been 2cm between all your sweeps I'm not getting my hopes up!

jmscp2015 · 28/11/2017 11:54

Thinking of everybody, nothing to report here, I’m pretty much just counting down to my midwife appt Thursday now for my second sweep and to start discussing induction Sad

Lazy babies! Wink

MrsJB1987 · 28/11/2017 12:10

So midwife appointment done! Cud cry! Cudnt do sweep as cervix not open but it is soft! Another sweep booked for Friday morning and induction booked for 5th Dec!!! Can't believe could have a December baby! Baby's head is good and low down apparently and healthy heartbeat and weight! Obv very happy about that but just want to meet him/her! Bear

pomadas87 · 28/11/2017 12:12

Just back from my sweep too -uncomfortable but not painful I was so relieved!
Midwife could only get a fingertip in and say it still had some thinning out to do... booked in for induction on Thursday as an outpatient when I'll be 12 days overdue.
Not sure if this is the case in all trusts but midwife said if I was booked in for an induction on a Friday they would need to keep me in as an inpatient?? Not sure why though

MrsJB1987 · 28/11/2017 12:15

@pomadas87 here in Northern Ireland induction date is due date + 10. Midwife didn't give away much apart from softening cervix; my waters cud go at anytime but most first time mums do need the 10days 🙈 my parents are having a canary now tho cos they fly to Scotland for a wedding two days after induction date! First grandchild and all that Hmm

tootsieglitterballs · 28/11/2017 14:05

No news... been for a long walk today, shattered now, had on and off ‘contractions’ but nothing regular so nothing to write home about.

Had some more pink mucus / discharge but not a proper plug (although I lost mine a few weeks ago properly - I know it regrows but not sure how quickly a proper one reforms!)

Backs very sore, I could eat a scabby horse and I just want to take a nap!

tootsieglitterballs · 28/11/2017 18:07

Super exhausted so had a nap - something I haven’t done this whole pregnancy!

Just tried a clary sage oil bath...doubt that’s helped either.

Even though it’s a week away, the thought of a planned section is getting me really down 😔
