Pregnant straight after miscarriage with no period

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience to me. I miscarried at almost 6 weeks on 17th Sept. After waiting a week I did a test and it was negative. I was pretty upset as this was my first pregnancy.

Today, I’ve done a test and it’s showing “Pregnant 2-3 weeks”. Has anyone else had an experience of becoming pregnant straight away again after miscarrying or going through the same now? And was/is all ok?

@DMT1982 thank you this is reassuring! I just don’t think I could wait 4 ish weeks to start thinking of trying again! I’m hoping I do fall quickly this was my first try this pregnancy. I already have a son which was a first try to and had a healthy pregnancy so didn’t have any worries. Makes sense they say wait but after reading all these looks like there is no medical reason unless as you said your body hasn’t got rid of everything, did you not have a heavy bleed with your first mc? So sorry for your loss x

@Jpascoe1 i am exactly the same as you, fell first time with our little boy and had a healthy pregnancy, miscarriage didn’t even enter my head so when we tried again and had a miscarriage I was in total shock and then shocked as to how common it is. I literally bled enough to fill one pad over a day and that was it, I went to EPU a week later as I had pains and they examined me to check not ectopic (no scan just felt my abdomen) they did a pregnancy test and it was showing negative so they said just wait for my next period before trying just for dating purposes. We had been having sex in the week straight after the loss so I must have fallen then because 4 weeks later I was pregnant again! Had a scan at 8.5 weeks, all was fine and measuring fine but something just wasn’t right in my head and heart then the day after the scan I started to spot brown and the red two days later. Ended up having a d&c on the 30/12 and just waiting for my first period.

I’m hoping the fact we have fallen pregnant first time every time goes for something.

@DMT1982 omg I’m so sorry I bet the scan at 8 weeks must have felt reassuring then mc the day after! Fingers crossed for you! Did you ask for an early scan? Is that the norm after a miscarriage? I will let you know if I get pregnant this month! X

@DMT1982 if you don’t mind me asking, was it an internal scan? I had an internal scan at 8wks +2, all seemed fine, then started bleeding that night

@Jpascoe1 I paid for a private scan at 8.5 weeks (external scan) Partly because of the previous miscarriage but also because one Covid my husband would not be allowed into the 12 week scan so thought it would be nice for him to come and see the baby together. I then paid for another private scan (again external) the following week at 9.5 weeks following the bleeding and spotting (brown type stuff) and they confirmed the baby had no heart beat.

I only ever had an internal scan at EPU the week after the private scan that had confirmed the miscarriage. The internal confirmed again the baby had died and they were just able to check ovaries and other things (no idea what!) xxx

@SLCxxx sorry for your loss? Did you pay for an early scan or was there a reason? I was thinking when I get pregnant again can an internal irritate the cervix? When is your AF due? Hope you have success this month x

@Jpascoe1 I did the same and paid for a private scan so my hubby could be there too and what the sonographer said made no sense, said sac was empty (he did abdominal scan) and to come back in 10 days for rescan (think he wanted more money). Instead I went to my local EPAU who done a internal scan and said everything was there.. measured a week smaller but they wasn’t worried.. then it all started that evening. I think it’s due mid Feb but have always been irregular, you?x

Hi everyone :) it's nice to read about people going through similar to me.
I had a miscarriage at the start of December at 8 weeks and have got pregnant straight away. I'm now 6+1 and have an early scan on Friday due to miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy on June.
I'm really nervous I just hope everything goes OK this time. I have had a bit of spotting this week but not overly worried as there wasn't much and was brown blood.

Yes this happened to me July 2020 I'm now pregnant again 25 weeks

Had my 1st scan this morning and everything all good :) baby measuring 6+3 in line with ovulation dates. We were able to see baby's heartbeat ❤️ I can't believe it's good news. Praying everything goes ok

Thank you everyone. So glad everything is OK at this stage as I never had a successful scan with my 2 previous pregnancies. I can just hope everything goes OK.

Does anyone here have a bicornuate uterus (heart shaped) and have had a successful pregnancy? The midwife noticed that I do even though it wasn't picked up on in previous scans.
She didn't seem too worried about it but when I was reading about it there is an increase in recurrent miscarriages or pre term birth.
Although when I read personal experiences there was a lot of women who had successful pregnancies. Don't want to have to worry about it if I don't need to

@Hopefulmummie not me personally however a friend of a friend did and had a miscarriage first then healthy pregnancy the next time so hope this gives you some reassurance xxx

Did anyone have false ovulation stick results? My preg test is negative now so I’m tracking ovulation and there is a faint line but I shouldn’t be ovulation until 6 days time ( 2 weeks after I starting bleeding from mc)

@Jpascoe1 you ovulate earlier after a miscarriage so a gynaecologist told me after mine xxx

@Jpascoe1 I think you can ovulate anytime after miscarriage. I didn't ovulate until nearly 4 weeks after x

@Jpascoe1 which ovulation sticks are you using? I’m using the easy at home one alongside the Premom app (you upload pics of your results and it interprets them) from the day after my bleeding stopped. Then when I saw the levels were rising I started using the clear blue one which tracks 2 hormones. I’m still using the sticks but there is always 2 lines and the way your meant to tell is by the test line being as dark or darker than the control line so when I noticed it was actually getting darker I wanted clear blue to tell me exactly when, lol.

I’ve uploaded a pic of my strip tests using the app which as you can see was still a bit confusing, sorry if TMI x

I got my smiley face on the clear blue last night so I’m assuming I ovulate today, day 16 from start of miscarriage, fingers crossed 🤞🏻

@SLCxxx thank you for sharing! I’m just using ones from Amazon was tracking for a couple of months before trying and always ovulated of day 14 I’m day 10 into my cycle now if bleeding from miscarriage as day 1 so we will see x
