Pregnant straight after miscarriage with no period

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience to me. I miscarried at almost 6 weeks on 17th Sept. After waiting a week I did a test and it was negative. I was pretty upset as this was my first pregnancy.

Today, I’ve done a test and it’s showing “Pregnant 2-3 weeks”. Has anyone else had an experience of becoming pregnant straight away again after miscarrying or going through the same now? And was/is all ok?

Thanks so much xxx

I mc on the 5th of July at roughly 5 weeks pregnant . Took a test a week later and negative . Took a test last week and it's positive. Clearblue has now went up to 2-3 weeks from 1-2 when I took the first one last week. I know exactly how you are feeling really messes with your head .

Ladies. Love seeing all of these posts.
I'm 23 I miscarriaged on Wednesday at 5 weeks so wondered if you could give me any advice. We obviously want to try again and I'm currently trying to get my head round me miscarrying! Do I have to have a period from after this to be pregnant? I've stopped bleeding luckily... and if I'm right I should ovulate next week... any advice.

nicomlove5 · 06/08/2018 16:04

If you feel like you are ready to try again then I would do it . I didn't have a period I fell pregnant as soon as I stopped bleeding. I've had 3 previous misscarriage and I have a 7 month old baby girl so keep positive it will happen for you .

Delilah7 · 06/08/2018 16:29

@nicomlove5 well I feel as ready as I'll ever feel after a miscarriage. I've heard you're more fertile after one so would t want to miss my chance but don't want to feel I'm 'replacing' you know. Oh wow, 3 must of been hard. :(

nicomlove5 · 06/08/2018 16:33

If you feel ready then I would try. And yeah you are more fertile . Yeah it's not been easy makes it easier that I now have my wee girl. I'm hoping everything goes ok with this pregnancy. It's only natural to feel that way just relax and look after yourself.

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 06/08/2018 16:35

I got pregnant straight after a miscarriage, without waiting for a period. I knew I was ovulating and just wanted to get pg as quickly as possible tbh. He’s now 7.

Delilah7 · 06/08/2018 17:04

@Cakecrumbsinmybra @Stilltryingat36 I have heard they depending how early they can class a miscarriage as a period too...?

Kinia1805 · 16/10/2018 03:28

Hey
We have been trying to get pregnant, and on 26/09/2018 I finally got a positive test, next morning I did a blood test and it came out positive 13.7 the same day the digital Clear Blue showed 1-2 weeks pregnant. 2 days doctor said I am about 4-5 weeks pregnant. After a day or two I had a 2 day bleeding, it was a heavy bleeding it was a medium flow. But after it finished all the pregnancy tests came out negative... I was feeling really upset as I finally got what I was dreaming about and then it just disappeared. Around 14 days after the 2 day bleeding I did an ovulation test and it was positive. I am hoping all will go well, and I’ll be pregnant straight after without having a period.
Do you ladies have any advice regarding this?wish you all much luck and strength xxxx

Kate2121 · 16/10/2018 12:48

Glad I came across this thread. I miscarried on Friday.
One doctor told me to wait for 1 period before trying again in case there is anything left there then it could happen again and the other told me I didn't have to wait as I'l be more fertile? So confusing! I would have been 6 weeks but she did a pregnancy test which came back negative so baby probably wouldn't have loved longer then 5 weeks I don't think.

Hi Ladies,

I miscarried last week at 6 weeks devastated as been trying for 2 years, wanting to try again straight away but confused now with my ovulation dates. Do you count the first day of bleeding (the miscarriage starting) as the first day. Any help or feedback would be great xxx

TerriB84 · 06/12/2018 23:40

I recommend using an OPK as you may find your day of ovulation is different from usual. I had a miscarriage at 4 weeks last month and counting the first day of bleeding as CD1 I ovulated 2 days later than is normal for me. It can take much longer for hCG levels to return to zero and for your cycles to start up again. It will be different for everyone. I was lucky and conceived again straight away and am now 6 weeks.

TerriB84 · 06/12/2018 23:42

I also meant to add that you should take a pregnancy test to make sure you get a negative result before using an OPK

Caroline1988 · 08/12/2018 21:47

Thank you for your reply TerriB84 and congratulations! Xxx

Shelli32 · 11/12/2018 21:39

Hi there guys
Ive recently had a miscarriage and even though me and my partner were gutted we have decided to try again straight away before my period comes, im just wondering if i do get pregnant straight away how will they confirm my due date????? Any advice would be appreciated thanks xx

Caroline1988 · 12/12/2018 14:35

Hey shelli, my partner and I are doing the same thing, not to be too personal but how are you working out your ovalation dates? Are you using the sticks or just trying as and when?! I wasn’t sure whether to wait for a period or not xxx

Xpudzx · 30/12/2018 16:48

Hey girls just after a little bit of advise on the 12th of Dec I had a positive test then on the 23rd I started bleeding only to have a confirmed miscarriage 3 days ago on the 27th two days after xmas :( bleeding stopped 27th also and we dtd that night early hours of the 28th also last night early hours of the 30th today's date do u think this might result in another pregnancy or will it take till nxt weeks to ovulate? X

TRex28 · 21/06/2019 21:57

I’m so confused. I miscarried last month 21/5 at 6weeks. I already have two boys 15 and 8, so felt confident to try straight away. We DTD 13days later... I’ve still not had a period. My boobs are really tender and I feel pregnant. I’ve taken a clear blue and it showed a negative. My boobs are huge and I’m peeing loads. Could this be in my head or is it too early for the clear blue. Xx

Hi ladies.... I recently lost my son at 23 weeks and 6 days, this was my first pregnancy, I gave birth on the 30th of April 2019, bled until the 14th of may, started bleeding again on the 28th of may and stopped on the 4th of June, it's been 4 weeks and 1 day since and I feel as if I'm pregant again(would be amazing if this is the case as me and my partner are trying to conceive) was wondering if anybody has gone through anything similar, thank you ladies

Amyw93 · 16/10/2019 20:39

Hi just thought I'd share my story for abit of hope for anyone after mc ( I know I used this a lot the past few weeks) I recently had a mc 6 weeks and 2 days ago at 9 weeks I suffered from terrible morning sickness and for around a week and a half I felt 'normal' again the bleeding stopped pretty much straight away. Then I started to 'feel' pregnant again i told myself it can be hormones as I saw you can carry on like this for 2 month. Even so the amount that I spent on pg tests was ridiculous I had already got a negative after mc. I kept testing and testing getting evap lines and what people call dye runs, after a few week of how I felt I contacted my local EPU thinking something must be wrong as I had a natural mc and scan showed a small amount left but required no treatment. So I went in expecting blood test to check hormone levels and they told me negative. My heart was broken and I also felt like I'd lost the plot telling my mum and boyfriend that I was sure I was pregnant, sure enough I do a test the last one I bought just because I was cleaning out the cupboard and positive followed by 4 more positives. If going off my symptoms I conceived around a week after MC as my sickness always has started basically straight away. Just want you all to know there is hope and you know your body more than anyone 💕

Winkle2020 · 30/10/2019 16:21

Hello ladies, just read this thread...i had a MMC on 9th Oct, spotted lightly and on 11th Oct in my 12 week scan they said I had a MMC. D and C done on 17th of Oct. Devastated is an understatement, for myself and my DH, our life seemed like frozen...we could not function normally still...but we pulled ourselves together and started TTC again from 20th Oct...we have been regularly having BD....problem is my preg test is still positive and I am not sure if its the left over hormone? I am still feeling very tired, sleepy and my breasts feel a little swollen as welll...

jk140618 · 08/11/2019 02:34

How do people feel about the advice from doctors to wait 1 cycle before ttc after MC? Love to hear people's thoughts! Jess X

Winkle2020 · 08/11/2019 11:29

@jk140618 hello Jess, I think it’s better to wait one cycle. I went to epu to have a follow up check up and they say it looks like retained products. They have put me in antibiotics and asked me to come in another 2 weeks for a scan.

Ish15 · 28/01/2020 06:26

Hi guys,

I recently miss carried at 9 weeks on December 26th 2019- my first pregnancy I was completely devastated and to be honest I still am .

My period is now almost 5 days late, I know everything is mixed up after a misscarriage, so I took pregnancy test the other day and it said negative .

I’m impatient I know but how long should I wait before doing another test ? Or what should I do

Kezmum14 · 28/01/2020 11:20

Leebeemarie · 30/01/2020 14:54

Same happened to me after my 5th MC in Oct, must have caught soon after and am now 13+2 (furthest I've ever gotten)

Congtratulations on your sticky bean and I'm sorry for your loss. xx
