Pregnant straight after miscarriage with no period

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience to me. I miscarried at almost 6 weeks on 17th Sept. After waiting a week I did a test and it was negative. I was pretty upset as this was my first pregnancy.

Today, I’ve done a test and it’s showing “Pregnant 2-3 weeks”. Has anyone else had an experience of becoming pregnant straight away again after miscarrying or going through the same now? And was/is all ok?

Thanks so much xxx

Yes I conceived 10 days after the bleeding stopped from a very early miscarriage (5.5 weeks). I am now 23 weeks.

Hi Ladies,

Thank you so much for posting and sharing your stories. It's so reassuring to hear about successful pregnancies after miscarriage. Sadly, I too am the 1 in 4 and miscarried at 7 weeks in October. I feel I took it quite well and accepted how common it was and almost felt I took one for the team for women. I was shocked and excited that I got pregnant just a few weeks later and it felt like a real healer. I had heard that you're more fertile after pregnancy but didn't realise how true it was.

Devestatingly I suffered a second miscarriage at just over 8 weeks. It has hit me really hard and have been utterly heartbroken.

I'm coming through the other side now, almost, yet I'm just worried about getting pregnant again. My rational mind says it'll be fine and like someone said earlier i would be in the investigation zone but j just don't know how people cope!!

I've been advised to wait for my period this time but I think I'm just looking for reassurance that third time lucky is actually a thing and how was that third pregnancy? And how was your mental health?

Apologies if I have hijacked the post xx

I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks, then conceived 16 days later. LO is now 2y/o.

Hey oak tree, sorry to hear of your losses, it is so upsetting, we are in exactly the same place interns if trying to conceive. I had thought this week I could have been pregnant again on number 3 straight after miscarriage in December but period arrived on Thursday. The main thing is that you can get pregnant- that is critical to remember as so many women go month after month with no progress. I have worried about my age, I’m nearly 39 but so many women get pregnant in their late thirties. Try to keep thinking positive and rationally as you are, and when you are ready go all out for number 3! :) I’m certain it is just a matter of time for both of us. Xx

OakTree101 · 06/01/2018 18:25

Thank you so much for your kind words Yukka. It means so much. It does sound like both of our timings are very similar actually. My second miscarriage was just over three weeks ago and we haven't tried but I haven't come on my period yet either. I think I'm going to wait. I wouldn't worry that you have as my midwife said a period is your body's way of telling you that it's ready and preparing so perhaps you'll be lucky next time around. Aw I wouldn't worry about your age-there are so many women who have successful pregnancies. My mother in law was 42!

elliej83 · 06/01/2018 19:03

This happened to me... I did have some light bleeds at the beginning of the pregnancy and it definitely mucked with my head thinking it would happen again but my little boy arrived totally fine and is 14 months now. Try not to worry :) the funniest thing for me was the doctor wanted my due date to be the date of my last period which was quite a way before the miscarriage so would have been way out!!!

Hi ladies. Wanting your advise of those of you who have experience a miscarriage or even pregnancy.
Had a miscarriage around 7 weeks ago and since then had a few weeks feeling okay and now I'm having more time of work with feel really ill headaches but most of all lower abdominal pain . I thought I may be pregnant again but blood test confirmed negative . Having further tests done and a scan as didn't have a scan during my miscarriage was just a natural miscarriage
Has this happened to anyone else ?

beckylouisestock180316x · 17/01/2018 17:17

Tinker89 · 31/01/2018 16:19

Hi ladies
I miscarried at 5 weeks. I had slight bleeding. I was meant to be 10 weeks pregnant but only measured 5 weeks. This was all over by the 12th jan and I stopped bleeding on the 18th. Since then I took two pregnancy tests both confirmed negative
I love reading all your stories of how you conceived quickly and I’m hoping that happens for me.
I’ve deffo been ovulating so fingers crossed.
I also feel like my boobs are huge at the moment, I don’t want to get my hopes up but this is how I felt before!

Baby dust to everyone :) xxx

rose2018 · 01/02/2018 13:05

I'm so excited but scared to be pregnant again but fingers crossed it happens this month and sticks!! I had a bad feeling from the beginning before, very strange. Goodluck all xxx

Hi ladies

I had a mc a few days ago and it's so encouraging to read these posts. Have my 'scan' on Monday and as soon as I feel myself again you've given me the courage to get right back do to dtd

Please keep us all up to date with how your getting on!

Youzanne · 05/02/2018 11:27

Hi all,

I originally started this thread after getting pregnant in November only weeks after a miscarriage. Just to let you know I'm now 21 weeks and all is going well!

Don't lose hope, your body is in prime condition for you to try again when you're ready and there is evidence to say that trying in that 6 month period after miscarrying is a good time to conceive.

Just be sure that you have recovered mentally from your miscarriage. I did struggle in the first 10 or so weeks with feeling pretty anxious and down even though I was pregnant again. Also, since there was only weeks between the two pregnancies I feel like I've been pregnant for 6 months already. Goodness knows how I'll feel come June by due date!

Keeping everything crossed for you all. Stay positive, rest, eat well and do everything you can to look after your body and mind x

Hi youzanne,
Lovely update. I'm glad it's all going well for you. I imagine that it must feel like you've been pregnant for ages!

I have waited until my period which I have now had. Just in the inbetween stage of ovulation and period so playing the waiting game now. I feel that I'm mentally ready now so fingers crossed xxx

Hello all,
Lovely to hear some positive experiences. I miscarried on 12th Jan this year at 8 weeks but pregnancy didnt progress further than 4. Went back to hospital on 24th and they confirmed everything had passed. Felt different last week and had a dream about having a positive test woke up on 7th feb and got a positive test, i was so happy and nervous but every day since then my tests have been getting fainter and then today i have started spotting so looks like i am going to miscarry again :( hopefully there is such a thing as 3rd time lucky. Just hope we can conceive and sustain a pregnancy!x

rose2018 · 12/02/2018 20:52

Star88 · 12/02/2018 22:09

I have had my BFN after mc so ready to start again. Wondering how long it will take me to ovulate again?! @Youzanne do you know how long it took? Stay positive @Oscar91 it might just be implantation? X

Youzanne · 09/03/2018 20:26

Hi @Star88 SmileIt took me just two weeks after miscarrying to ovulate and that's when I fell pregnant again. So sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Stay positive and hopefully it takes no time for you either, providing you feel mentally ready to start trying again.
For everyone that's suffered miscarriage do read Izzy Jude's book "Dare to Dream". It really helped me stay positive and keep in mind that wonderful things can happen after dark times x

@Youzanne im nearly 6 weeks. Feeling completely different from last time. Hope it all goes ok this time. Lovely to hear you're doing well still :)

Youzanne201 · 11/03/2018 08:49

@Star88 that's great news. 6 weeks is a bit of a milestone in terms of reduction of miscarriage chances, and with every week your chances reduce significantly. Won't be long until that first scan.
I'm now 26 weeks with a little boy! I have quite a sizeable bump and lots of kicking now. Although I'll never forget the pain of the miscarriage I hope my story can bring hope to others who feel ready to start trying straight away. Best of luck to you!

Hoping18 · 28/03/2018 15:02

Hi 😊 so glad I came across this thread, I miscarried at around 6 weeks last month was an unexpected pregnancy but couldn't of been happier so we decided to start trying straight away and couldn't believe it actually happened straight away, I'm now just over 5 weeks pregnant and feeling very anxious I'm scared to feel excited, I already have 2 boys from a previous relationship so this one will be our first together, praying for a sticky bean

Hi,
Just wanted to share my experience and get some feed back.
I found out i was pregnant on the 8th June, on the day i found out i had brown discharge so i went for an early scan. the nurse couldnt see anything on the scan so they wanted to do a blood test and another one in two days, the second blood test came out that i had a miscarriage because my hormone levels were dropping. Its been a few days now that i found out i had a mc but i feel pregnant again. Now, my last period was on the 22nd of May and my next ovulation after that was two days before i found out i was pregnant and since i had been trying for a baby i only went through 2 ovulation days one being before my last period in May and one being 2 days before my positive pregnancy test (06/06/18) Is there any chance me having my mc during my period and falling pregnant again on the second ovulation. Im very confused.

Stilltryingat36 · 28/07/2018 08:50

Char1230 was u pg?
I mc on 5 July medically managed, I bled for a day and then ovulated 10 days later. Periods due anytime from tomorrow to Thursday so I don’t know. I know we covered ovulation time though.
I had early scans last time bc I’m diabetic even seeing hb at 8 weeks I’m too scared to have early scans if I get pg again, I almost don’t want to know but I really do. Anyone else feel like this?
