Anyone else? I know I'm an early bird. BFP yesterday and today (AF was due today)

Already a mix of impatient and freaking eat.

Need to stop googling and reading statistics that stress me out. Hoping I feel a bit more chilled when I get to 12 weeks

Also don't know when to tell family, friends, work. DH and I live (temporarily, but temporarily like the next 6 months) in an annex at my parents so we will see them all the time. Sure my Mum will guess something is up. Best friends? manager? work friends?

Thinking I will end up telling my parents quite soon. but DHs parents, and best friends, say 8 weeks? no way I can wait until 12 weeks I dont think which I know is 'traditional'

its all a minefield to me!

Do I ring the Drs now? wait? Will the DRs care yet?

the questions!

There are so many posts here that I've only been able to scan them. So much excitement and sadness too, so just want to acknowledge both happy and not so cheery stories. Isn't it amazing and also awful what our own bodies can do. I've been trying for a year and have had the most irregular cycles so I'm amazed that my pregnancy tests came back positive. Took 3 over the course of a week, after my boobs swelled up like nothing I'd seen before! That was like 2 weeks ago when I was 5 weeks. I've seen the mw aince then but she didn't do a test so I'm also wondering if I really am pregnant or if my body is playing tricks on me!! I don't feel unusually tired, my boobs aren't quite as big as they were 2 weeks ago and I haven't had any sickness. I have got funny feels in my tum (not cramping but like "growing pains") and my body temp is definitely running higher. This is my first so it's all new. My worst fear is turning up to my scan at 12 weeks and notging being there. How did some of you get to have an early scan? Clearly I'm freaked out and confused but moat def a hopeful mum to be!

Bisset80 · 26/10/2017 06:35

@user I'm so sorry to hear that, I had all my fingers and toes crossed for you!! FlowersFlowers

@hkay hey yip I have no symptoms I'm 7+5 see my midwife on the 3rd!!
For early scans I think most went private as your first one via NHS is about 12 weeks unless there is problems, congratulations on your bfp!! Xxx

hkay · 26/10/2017 21:46

@bisset thanks for your reply. I've read up about it and it seems we are the lucky ones. Sickness or pains could hit at any time though so I'm expecting something at some time. I'm so much thirstier and also a bit constipated. It doesn't make sense! Our scan is on the 4th Dec... ! I'll be 12+3! X

Bisset80 · 26/10/2017 22:21

@hkay haha yeah same here, Im more thirsty, peeing a lot more and a bit constipated!! Done another test today just to be sure and yip I'm still pregnant!! Yeah I think my first scan should be around about then, I'm not sure tho as my midwife wants me to have a stitch put into my cervix, so guess I'll see what happens, but going to take it easy till then!! Have you told family or friends yet?? Bet you're so excited haha xx

Veggiehappy · 27/10/2017 20:19

Been really worried all week after pain on monday...touch wood still no bleeding and took another clearblue test today that said im 2-3 weeks pregnant so im hoping all is okay...got appointment at docs on monday where ill mention pain. 😕

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 27/10/2017 22:08

Veggie I am having loads of weird lower back and tummy pain too. I'm trying to convince myself it's all normal. Hope the dr can shed some light.

SylvesterTheCat · 28/10/2017 15:07

I've had weird tummy and back pain too- a little after each episode I realised it was trapped wind, which apparently is very common in pregnancy.
I'm feeling so bloated, I think I look about 5 months pregnant already because of it dammit!

hkay · 28/10/2017 23:18

@veggiehappy @ilovechoc def speak to the gp. I think it's normal to get some aches and pains but everyone feels aches and pain so differently don't they! Try not to worry and focus on looking after yourself and taking your mind off it until you can speak to the doc. I guess nhs helpline is always there if you get super anxious and want to talk to an expert before then.

@bisset80 I've just done another test and it was most def a BFP. I'm so relieved that I'm not a crazy lady making it all up in my mind! Told immediate family and two closest mates and had to tell fitness folk whose classes i go to. I want to have the scan before sharing the news more widely. Not showing really and tend to wear loose clothing anyway so I can hide it a bit longer! What about you? And why do you need a stitch in your cervix?

Bisset80 · 29/10/2017 06:55

@hkay I've told immediate family, havnt told my daughter yet, I need the stitch because I have had 2 hoop loop biopsies on my cervix and they took a lot of my cervix wall away, I was pregnant earlier this year I was nearly 15 weeks when my cervix opened and I went into early labour and gave birth to my son who died, so my midwife wants to push for me to have a stitch in to keep it closed. Pretty scary stuff but totally excited and feel pretty calm about it all, will do anything for it all to go smoothly xx

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 30/10/2017 06:56

Wow salt K that is exciting, we won't be having an early scan as it will be difficult enough to get child care for 12 week scan!
I am 7 weeks today, that feels very exciting seen as we have know since 4. I have my booking in appointment at the weekend which makes it feel a bit more real.

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 30/10/2017 06:59

Sorry I just realised I commented on a post from page 1!
How is everyone else getting on? Any more early scans gone ahead? How far is everyone now?

Finefineanddandy · 30/10/2017 09:05

Ilovechocolate - that's great that you have your booking appointment so soon and at the weekend! I'm 7+5 and mine isn't for weeks.Im looking forward to it as I still don't have any symptoms at all (so keep testing and am pregnant!) so it will be nice to get my maternity notes that they give you there and be one step closer towards my scan.

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 30/10/2017 13:54

Finefine I have my bounty pack with my notes too, they must be keen at my surgery! I haven't touched it till this weekend as it all just feels too early. I'm hoping the earlier I have my booking appointment the earlier I can have my scan!

Finefineanddandy · 30/10/2017 14:21

Wow they do sound keen.Yeah you might be right as I remember having to wait with my last baby due to them being busy,I think it wasn't until 14 weeks! So the sooner you can book the better.

meow1989 · 30/10/2017 14:25

I’ve got my booking appt on thurs at 6+3! Was shocked at how early it is!

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 30/10/2017 17:37

Wow meow 6 +3 is early how nice though :). I hope they let me have my scan before 12 weeks I am so excited!

Veggiehappy · 30/10/2017 22:18

#ilovechoc that's great that you have appointment! Makes it feel more real!
Hope everyone's weird aches and paibs are getting better!

I had my appointment with gp today and mentioned pain i had. He said that it's probably nothing to worry about especialpy as no bleeding but to come back if it gets worse! I have first appointment with midwife next week...!!

Seems a bit more real but it'll be 6 weeks on thursday so still really early days!!

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 31/10/2017 06:33

My aches an pains are subsiding replaced with extreme exhaustion, all be worth it though :)

PJsAndProsecco · 31/10/2017 06:42

Hello ladies can I join you?! I’m 6+3 with baby number 2, by lmp dates due 23rd June. Still waiting on my letter from the midwife unit with my booking appointment date. So far this pregnancy feels very different to my first. I’m sure I was sick as a dog by this point before, now I just want to eat everything and any mild nausea I do have seems to go away when I eat!

Duvetlover · 31/10/2017 06:51

Due June 1st. Just joined. Not sure how this works! Currently 9 weeks.
You all seem way more sane than another board platform I joined! And have now deleted!
I feel sick, everything hurts, I’m tired, I’m being woken to wee, my boobs are huge and sore , I’m constipated and I’m sick of people saying being pregnant is amazing.
I feel better for saying hat out loud!

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 31/10/2017 16:01

Hi Duvet and PJ's :)

JuneMammaToBe · 31/10/2017 19:03

Hi, I am new here! 6 weeks pregnant now and baby should be due in June. I wonder when will my bump start growing? Smile

Mummabearof3 · 31/10/2017 19:32

Hey can I join? 6 weeks tomorrow and due baby no 4. So excited but dreading pregnancy a bit as I know awful sickness is just around the corner for me and I suffered terrible spd with all my babies.
Anyway I'm in a village and know the midwife only works a few days so phoned docs to check what days so I could plan ahead around my days off for booking in app and she booked me for this Thursday!! I said oh I'll only be 6 weeks so thought it would be later she said no that's fine. Anyone else seen midwife so early?

meow1989 · 31/10/2017 20:47

Hi to everyone who’s just joined 😊

I’m slightly apprehensive that morning sickness might have started today, wasn’t actually sick but felt awful and took me half an hour to stomach a piece of fruit (after which I did feel better). Also the bloating is ridiculous 😳

I’ve just moved on from the seven seas conception vitamins to the pregnancy ones (thought I could keep taking the conception ones, they have slightly less vitamin d in) do you think it’ll be ok to have swapped a little later on?

Scotslass01 · 31/10/2017 21:03

Hello all,
Can I join?
Firstly massive congrats.
I am 6+5 est due date of 22nd June. I have an early pregnancy scan on Monday, I can't wait.
I have had few symptoms really. Peeing constantly, bit of a sore head and quite tired. I have also noticed if I don't eat regularly I feel yuck even though I don't have any real desire to eat.
Good to talk to ladies at the same stage.
