Hi All, I hope this isn't TMI. Did anyone's bleeding almost stop then come back? I'm 16 post partum now and it's come back almost as bad as when she was born but just darker. I'm trying not to stress out. I Feel daft bothering the midwife especially as we have no more planned visits with her

ew1990 · 29/11/2017 14:47

@Squigglefish my lo is 4 week old on Saturday and I had a day of no bleeding a couple of days ago then it started again 😢

Squigglefish · 29/11/2017 16:02

Oh god, that sucks. It's crap sitting on mattresses day and night and when the bleeding is unpredictable it's scary. I had a PPH and I'm so paranoid now 🙈 it's been steady today so I'm going to relax and see what happens tomorrow.

ew1990 · 29/11/2017 16:23

I've been in normal pads for about a week now but I still can't wait for it to stop. I hate pads I never feel clean I'm used to tampons.

I forgot what it was like after 9 months!

Olivelor · 29/11/2017 16:25

Due in March 2018. Just can't wait to have my little bundle of joy! Smile

NC1990 · 29/11/2017 18:50

I am finding breastfeeding exhausting atm, it's no longer painful and I do quite enjoy it (since it's the only time she's really quiet!) but DD is cluster feeding again and never goes more than 2 hours without a feed. She's also a crap napper during the day! Today is the first day I haven't cried though (yet anyway, the nights are always the worst), so hopefully I can keep it up...

I'm still bleeding but could probably make the switch to normal pads now, will be really weird when I no longer need to wear them with my massive Primark pants!

ew1990 · 29/11/2017 19:13

@NC1990 I second the primark pants they come all the way under my boobs 😂

Sorry your finding breastfeeding exhausting, I really feel for you. Can you express some so your oh can do a feed in the evening let you get some sleep?

Jessiecat27 · 29/11/2017 19:22

I'm so confused regarding formula feeding,if I have a tin of formula it says to boil kettle, leave to cool for 30 minutes then make up the bottle, how do you do that with a hungry baby? Or am I missing something? Getting really frustrated because I can't get my head around it!

Goawaybabyblues · 29/11/2017 20:37

@Jessiecat27 we got a perfect prep machine from Tommy Tippie and it's been an absolute god send. We clean it once a week and have had no issues with it so far, might be worth checking out!

Goawaybabyblues · 29/11/2017 20:38

@Squigglefish have you been over doing it at all? Apparently lots of activity can cause it to start again.

Squigglefish · 29/11/2017 21:56

Maybe a little bit of housework but nothing major. Will phone tomorrow if it continues like this. I'm so fed up with it, It's gross.

We also got a perfect prep machine @Jessiecat27, we tried the kettle method and I order he perfect prep the day after. It's a god send!!

Jessiecat27 · 30/11/2017 10:02

Oh great thank you I'll have to order one! Smile

TheLionQueen1 · 30/11/2017 11:27

Also got a perfect prep here, couldn't live without it, I've even got it up in the nursery so I don't have to go far at night Grin

NC1990 · 30/11/2017 15:02

@ew1990 They hide a multitude of sins don't they 🙈

I'm definitely going to try expressing more, I have an electric pump which works great but I struggle to find the time to do it, my LO doesn't sleep much in the day at all 🙄

ew1990 · 30/11/2017 15:38

@NC1990 even with izzy on formula I still don't find the time to do anything, she slept really well in the day but she's more awake In the day now but I'm not complaining coz she's great at night (bar the few nights where she's screamed with trapped wind)

NC1990 · 30/11/2017 18:26

I wish Layla was good during the night, unfortunately she's a bit of a bugger then too. She just wants to be held all the time and seems to suffer with trapped wind so she's really reluctant to sleep on her back in her cot. We're using Infacol and hoping it will help a bit. I've no idea how I'm still standing really considering I haven't slept more than 2 hours in a row since before she was born 😩

ew1990 · 30/11/2017 18:32

I know how you feel in the week I breastfed I had about 7 hours sleep in total! I use dentinox for trapped wind, you can put it into a bottle so they don't spit it out, maybe you could put it in a bottle of expressed milk? I just put it into one of her night time feeds coz that's when she suffers the most.

mrsjkerry · 30/11/2017 21:02

Hello everyone. Happened to glance down and see some people experiencing problems with hospitals and breastfeeding - ME TOO!

As soon as baby was born someone tried to get her on my breast - failed - and was told to try again later. Taken downstairs to a room and then pretty much left to it! She ended up in intensive care because no one actually bothered to check why she wouldn't feed - she had an infection. She was fed cow and gage through a drip and I ditched the breastfeeding attempts. She now gets mostly formula with some expressed breast milk.

ew1990 · 30/11/2017 21:15

@mrsjkerry that's shocking! So sorry to hear your LO was in intensive care. How are you both doing? X

mrsjkerry · 30/11/2017 21:19

So good! I dread night times because she's very awake then, but my husband has been getting up most of the time. He let me sleep the whole night through yday! I am dreading him going back to work on Monday 😬

ew1990 · 30/11/2017 21:30

I was dreading my OH going back to work but we are fine, got our own little routine. I look forward to weekends when he does night feeds although last night he did a feed at half 4 and told me to sleep even though he had to leave for work at 8! X

mrsjkerry · 30/11/2017 21:35

Yeh I'm sure I'll work it out!! She's not that bad a baby all in all...

ew1990 · 30/11/2017 21:41

You'll be fine ☺️ izzys 4 week old tomorrow it's going too fast

mrsjkerry · 01/12/2017 18:47

Does anyone else have a constipated baby? We have just moved to powdered to milk and the ready prep machine but poor baby has been struggling to poo for the last 2 days. We gave her some cooked boiled water and that seemed to help a bit but she's still in discomfort and it's quite distressing.

Any tips?

ew1990 · 01/12/2017 21:30

Put her On her back and cycle her legs. As if she is riding a bike - it works for my LO so worth a shot?
