@NC1990 can you try lying her over your legs with her head facing down over the end of your knees and rub her back? Might be trapped wind

ew1990 · 03/01/2018 20:33

Or like this?

@Bobbiepin how was heartbeeps?

@NC1990 sorry to hear that :( it's so sad isn't it? I'm rubbish at winding Liliana but bouncing her on my knee seems to be most effective way of doing it for her. Good luck I do feel for u as have had several days like that. Thank goodness last night was better as I was close to breaking. Hugs for you xx

Will give that a go, poor thing gets herself so wound up. DH has just taken her out in the car and she's now sleeping in her car seat, I know they're not meant to be in it long but it's the only peace I've had all day so I'm going to make the most of it 😁

I've recorded 20 Kids and Counting, did anyone watch it? I can't even fathom how anyone could do this 20 times!!!

Bobbiepin · 03/01/2018 22:41

Oh no @NC1990 sorry to hear you've had a shit day, its so tough when they're like that. Hopefully she'll have worn herself out & you get some sleep tonight. I love that series, will definitely get it on catch up with a whole new respect for that woman!

@lydiangel83 it was really good. Definitely one of those things that you can either get super into or just think its all a bit crap but it was a laugh. Not sure DD was all that fussed but I got out the house so I'm not too fussed.

lydiangel83 · 04/01/2018 03:04

@NC1990 there's loads of things you're not meant to do but sometimes you just have to do what works for everyone's sanity! Good luck! we co-sleep most of the time and need to get her in to her cot, just so hard late at night to have that battle!

OP posts:
NC1990 · 04/01/2018 11:38

@lydiangel83 exactly, sometimes you have to weigh up what is 'right' with what is going to give you back some sanity! She slept in her car seat until 1am 🙈 I had fallen asleep at 11 expecting to be woken 15 mins later but she gave me a couple of hours! She slept well the rest of the night thank god. I get you with the co-sleeping, when it's 3am it's often not a battle worth having.

I'm supposed to be meeting a friend for lunch in an hour, currently sat with soaking wet hair wearing just a towel and not a shred of makeup trying to feed the baby! It is impossible to get anywhere on time these days 😬

Bobbiepin · 04/01/2018 15:18

@nc1990 I'm glad you got some sleep. Getting out is so tough, I generally start getting ready hours before I actually need to leave. Every once in a while I get there vaguely on time 😂

ew1990 · 04/01/2018 16:07

@NC1990 I had to rearrange my hairdressers appointment today because there was no way I was gunna make it on time, luckily she's a friend too, hopefully make it tomorrow

lydiangel83 · 04/01/2018 21:38

@NC1990 @ew1990 I'm shocked by the state I go out in these days, wet unbrushed hair or greasy tied up hair with whatever vaguely clean, baggy clothes that I can breastfeed in! I used to dress smartly and have loads of nice clothes. It's actually annoying me as I have so many nice dresses etc that I know I won't wear again for a long time and think I may start selling them on eBay

OP posts:
ew1990 · 04/01/2018 21:55

I used to live in nice dresses and skirts now it's leggings and whatever top doesn't need ironing or hasn't got sick on it 😂 I haven't washed my hair since Monday, I'm getting it done tomorrow so there's no point right?

Bobbiepin · 04/01/2018 22:23

I've never used so much dry shampoo in my life. I'm not actually sure when I last washed my hair, it doesnt look too bad tied up but definitely could do with a wash! I'm pleased I bought some jeans in a size up when I got pregnant, otherwise I would have nothing to wear. Nursing clothes are not pretty!

ew1990 · 04/01/2018 22:48

Bobbie it will start to clean itself soon I've been there 😂😂 I manage to wash it but drying and straightening go straight out of the window

NC1990 · 04/01/2018 23:34

I think I went a full week without washing my hair a few weeks back 🙈 I do have a lot of hair so it doesn't get greasy that quickly but still, I felt revolting. I got a new dressing gown for Christmas and it's already been in the wash 3 times, she keeps missing the muslin and puking all over me! I miss not smelling like curdled milk.

Bobbiepin · 04/01/2018 23:52

Haha DH came home so I took the opportunity to wash my hair. Feeling fresh and clean now. Thankfully its quite dry usually so I can go a decent period of time without washing it.
I know what you mean @nc1990, I miss wearing perfume too. I got a towelling dressing gown after she was born so I don't have to hold a towel up if she needs me when I get out the shower, its been a god send.

lydiangel83 · 05/01/2018 03:03

@Bobbiepin @NC1990 it feels like a spa break when I get to properly wash my hair lol

I bought a new dark dressing gown for Labour/ pregnancy and so swap between that and my old pale one as pretty much live in them at home! They are one of only things that don't hurt my sore nipples :(

Baby asleep and I'm awake as boobs leaking, don't want to wake baby but equally it's annoying that I'm awake!

OP posts:
ew1990 · 05/01/2018 20:26

Well I was only 10 minutes late to my hair appointment today 😂

And I've just managed to have a bath and shave my legs - I feel like a new women

lydiangel83 · 06/01/2018 03:36

Does anyone else bf wake up before their baby for feeds at night? Most of the time I'm up an hour before DD wakes up/ I wake her up because my boobs are so full. It's so hard to get her to settle and she rarely sleeps during the day but it feels like my supply is Mis matched at night. I'm wondering if it js because I use Haakaa a lot and may be generating over supply!

OP posts:
Bobbiepin · 06/01/2018 23:22

What's haakaa? I don't wake her up but when I wake up my boobs are solid. She's only just getting used to it and can feed without choking on the milk. I should express a bit in the morning but she sleeps best then so if I want to sleep I need to jump on the opportunity! I hate expressing too so any excuse to avoid it!

ew1990 · 06/01/2018 23:26

I think it's a brand of pump?

Bobbiepin · 07/01/2018 00:07

That makes sense. If you can just boob then maybe try that for a couple of days and see if that gets your supply matching demand a little more. Are you expressing so someone else can give a bottle or because there's problems latching?

lydiangel83 · 07/01/2018 18:38

I'm in so much pain with latch and boobs in general I am worried I have infection in nipples or something (one cracked and one with hole in the middle). The y been damaged for a while but now so sore it's unbearable. I may have to express for a few days as I need a break physically. Www.haakaa.com it's hard to describe but basically hands free suction cup that draws milk down whilst feeding on other side ie so you can collect milk without having to express separately. Better for use in babies too small to knock it off so not sure I can use it for much longer :-/ xx

OP posts:
Bobbiepin · 07/01/2018 19:03

Oh you poor thing, definitely get yourself to a breastfeeding clinic and have someone look at the latch. My drop in one was a saviour when DD was having problems.

lydiangel83 · 08/01/2018 08:48

@Bobbiepin I've done that a few times and they are vaguely helpful but I think I'm not patient enough and just want to feed her quickly when she is screaming rather than keep taking her off until she opens her mouth wide enough :-/

OP posts:
Bobbiepin · 08/01/2018 09:55

That's understandable. Could you try waiting for her to pause then pulling her chin down a bit whilst she's still on? I couldn't stand the pain of relatching to start with so I found it easier to adjust her mouth when she was already on. I'm not sure it's something they would recommend but it meant she mostly got a better (although not perfect) latch without disturbing the feed.
