Can stress bring on labour? Due date on friday, oh has just been told by his boss (small company) he can't afford to keep him on as the business isn't making enough money. Hoping he can find somewhere else to start ASAP but I'm furious with his boss, who even does that?! We can't afford to just live off my wages as I get three months of full pay then it drops down, I'm so stressed! Sad

@mrsjkerry have been having contractions since 5:30am yesterday morning but don’t seem to be progressing. I’m sort of jealous that you’re not going through this yet, if I’m totally honest!

mrsjkerry · 15/11/2017 19:23

Yeh still nothing happening over here. It’s all so stressful I just want to bury my head and forget about it all.

@mrsjkerry when I went in to start induction at 40+10 I was actually starting to have contractions normally. Interestingly I'd felt them all the night before and put it down to back ache. They still did the induction process to get it going properly bit it was interesting to see she was making her own way.
Good luck!

mrsjkerry · 15/11/2017 20:24

Thank you @Squigglefish I am 40+6. Induction booked for 40+13... we’ll see what happens

I have a lot of backache anyway and have done for ages. I have no idea what a contraction feels like. I’ve had no Braxton Hicks or anything.

@Julesbegone any news ??

Officially 40 weeks, got a bit of backache, loads of pressure down below and keep nipping the loo (although that could be down to the amount I'm drinking as I have a cold) wondering if this could be the start of something! Not had any braxton hicks so I don't really know what to expect! No loss of mucus plug or waters breaking yet either, feeling hopeful though!

DarcyParty · 17/11/2017 01:18

I'm in labour 😣 Started about half 7, contractions every 15-30 mins, back pain is intense. Hospital says to go in when they're 3 mins apart. Hope to see you all on the other side :)

Jessiecat27 · 17/11/2017 01:22

Good luck! Darcyparty let us know how it goes! Hoping I won't be far behind!

NC1990 · 17/11/2017 04:40

Exciting DarcyParty, hope it's good news for you soon 🙂

Doing a nightfeed right now, this baby point blank refuses to sleep anywhere but on me 😩

THirdEeye · 17/11/2017 06:23

Good luck darcy!

NC have you tried using a hot water bottle/wheatbag to slightly warm the matress? Also try wrapping baby in a muslin whilst you have a cuddle, so that it smells of you when you put baby down. This is what the midwife suggested to us, when baby third would do this.

It doesn’t work all the time, but works enough so I can do things.

DarcyParty · 17/11/2017 08:46

Quick update- still at home, contractions fizzled out at 3am despite DP rushing home from work 🙈

Woke up with painful period like cramps, gave the birthing centre a ring and they said I'm in latent labour and just need to wait for the contractions again. Nightmare!

(Bless dp though, he deep cleaned the kitchen and epilated my legs for me while I was contracting!! 🙈)

DarcyParty · 17/11/2017 09:43

Just got out of the bath - bloody show? (tmi warning)

Very possibly @DarcyParty was there discharge like mucus too? That's pretty much what mine looked like! Excited for you!

mrsjkerry · 17/11/2017 15:56

@DarcyParty this looks what. I showed the midwife this morning who said bloody show.

I have been in labour for 22 hours now. Started last night 6pm. It’s terrible. Contractions never get close to 3 mins apart they’re currently 10 mins apart except they seem to have faded away in the last 30 mins.

I had to go to hospital this morning because of the hyperemesis l; couldn’t stop vomiting so they injected me anti sickness drugs.

I’ve been in the bath now 4 hours writhing around. Don’t know what to do

Hello, I’m Tamara and currently 6+2 with our first - which was unexpected but welcome (we’ve been off contraception for 3+ years but weren’t trying).

To be honest, apart from those 2 lines on the stick, I don’t feel much different. I get cramping in the late afternoon and weird ‘pulling muscle’ sensation every so often but that’s really about it! No sickness or food aversions, yet.

Called the GP today, who said they didn’t need to see me and I just got straight to midwife who has no appointments until mid December so I’ve got to call back on Monday!

Anyway, just thought I’d say hi Smile

DarcyParty · 17/11/2017 17:02

@mrsjkerry Thats exactly what I'm getting, minis the sickness! The pains are so awful, nothing I can do and the paracetamol isn't touching them :( I'm praying for my waters to start just so I know I'm progressing

mrsjkerry · 17/11/2017 17:18

Y friend is being bringing me a tens machine maybe that’ll help

Hi @Farrar exciting time! The first Midwife appointment is very much paperwork filing in and sending stuff off to arrange your scan so not a huge hurry yet. Mine was at 8 and a bit week then I had as lived practice and had another appointment at 10 weeks.

Julesbegone · 17/11/2017 20:24

@mrsjkerry good luck! So glad to hear it’s got going. I finally had him at 9am yesterday, after three days of contractions, which never got closer together than every 6 minutes until the pushing stage. Keep us posted!

Julesbegone · 17/11/2017 20:41

Just something interesting to note, ladies: I was adamant the whole way through the pregnancy that I wanted a water birth and thankfully, ended up in a birthing room which had one. I arrived at hospital 8cm dilated so labour was well under way but slowed to the point of practically stopping both times I gave the pool a go so had to get out! It was literally as if someone had flicked a switch and turned my contractions off.

Turns out it made me too relaxed, which on one hand is undoubtably one of the reasons I managed to push out a 9lb baby with only two paracetamol but on the other hand, the Midwife said afterwards that it added approximately two hours to the whole experience, which I’d rather never do again.

mrsjkerry · 17/11/2017 20:53

I think I am having possibly a back labour. I haven’t felt any pain round the front. It’s an agony in my back and deep deep in my pelvis. Did anyone else have this

Julesbegone · 17/11/2017 21:00

A woman who was on the ward with my yesterday did. She described it as being totally unbearable and the hosp gladly gave her an epidural at 3cm.

When are you going in? My contractions never got closer than 6 minutes apart until I was pushing maybe you should head back in now?
