My bump measurements are always bang on, I'm 5"8 and people always say it looks like I've shoved a basketball up my top 😂😂

Bobbiepin · 13/10/2017 23:38

@lydiangel @mrsjkerry I had to stop running very early on due to sciatica. Ì went back to parkrun once the awful morning sickness wore off and then couldnt walk for the rest of the weekend. I did yoga up until 33 weeks but couldnt keep it going with work. Tbh I think some of it is about accepting that my body isnt mine anymore and its got another purpose. I'm doing better with that now but I think running is part of my identity and I'm very keen to regain that once baby is born. Lots of mums talk about losing their identity so hopefully that's something I can hold on to.

lydiangel83 · 14/10/2017 08:40

@Bobbiepin I totally agree it is part of your identity and I also don’t want to lose it. I already feel like my body isn’t my own and that’s ok but I do want it back at some point! My lower half has definitely widened with bigger thighs and bum, I suppose I haven’t done much exercise at all since end of August when I was about 30 weeks. I do still swim at least once or twice a wk and walk a fair bit but no spinning since about 28 wks. Maybe I should have done more?! I can imagine if it were a second child then you’d have very little time to exercise so I guess we are lucky in that respect.

Off to hospital now as reduced movements! Bit scared!

TheLionQueen1 · 14/10/2017 09:01

@lydiangel83 hope all is ok, best place to be so they can monitor and put your mind at ease£

ScotsLamb · 14/10/2017 09:23

@lydiangel83 I hope baby starts wriggling about soon!

Bobbiepin · 14/10/2017 10:01

@lydiangel hope alls ok, thinking of you and baby

lydiangel83 · 14/10/2017 14:02

Thanks all :) little blighter started moving within 15 mins of me being hooked up to monitor so was in and out within about 40 mins. I wasn’t too worried as had had a scan yesterday (Midwife’s tapemeasre said I was measuring small) but all was fine then, but it was unusual for baby to be so quiet at night and in the morning.

Bobbiepin · 14/10/2017 14:06

Glad its all ok, little ones tend to start wiggling with the pressure of the belts but you did the right thing.

lydiangel83 · 14/10/2017 15:24

Thanks @Bobbiepin I think you’re right

Can I ask a favour please ladies? If anyone has a Ewan the Sheep could you please send me a pic of the instructions? Our friends have given us theirs but no instructions with it

Missonhartbaby · 15/10/2017 11:05

Hi girls, I'm 40 weeks on Tuesday... I really thought he'd be here this weekend but I'm not convinced now! Been having a lot of pressure, tightening and cramps. But nothing resulting in proper contractions... anyone know if these are signs of it all moving in the right direction?!? I just want to meet him now! Any advice on how to hurry it up? I've been bouncing in the ball like crazy and taking the dog for long walks!

lydiangel83 · 15/10/2017 15:38

@Missonhartbaby no suggestions sorry but good luck to you! I had some stitch like sensations earlier and wondered if they were early contractions!? Otherwise to hurry it along maybepineapple, curry, sex etc!

ew1990 · 15/10/2017 19:44

@Missonhartbaby how've you've been?

ew1990 · 15/10/2017 19:44

You

Bobbiepin · 15/10/2017 19:52

@missionhartbaby my NCT woman said twisting your nipples helps!!

Is anyone making food to freeze before baby arrrives? I've made some chilli con carne but that's about all I can think of! Want to get some meals ready to go.

Missonhartbaby · 15/10/2017 20:17

@Bobbiepin Twisting nipples?!? That's a new one I've heard, I'll give it a try... while bouncing on the ball! Haha
@ew1990 I'm ok thanks, just the waiting is killing me and I really don't want to be induced! Have a sweep booked for thursday so hopefully that will hurry things up if he's not here before.
I think he must be In position now as I was 3/5 engaged last time I saw the midwife and now I'm getting a lot of sharp pains in my cervix when he's moving... that along with tightenings must mean something!
@lydiangel83 my OH is too scared to have sex with me at the moment otherwise I'd definitely be giving that a try! Grin

ew1990 · 15/10/2017 20:17

@Bobbiepin I was thinking this? Lasagne? Spag Bol? Some different types of stews, stuff that can be easily heated up.

But then again I haven't got any energy lately to cook normal meals never mind extras 😂😂

Squigglefish · 15/10/2017 21:53

Last Sunday dread for me for 1 year...Wahoo.

Has anyone had the nesting urge yet?

ew1990 · 15/10/2017 22:17

I had it yesterday for about a hour! Scrubbed the bathroom 😂 I keep willing it to come properly so I can get off my lazy arse

ScotsLamb · 15/10/2017 22:18

I'm stock piling thinks like frozen chips, crispy chicken, battered fish then making lasagne, spag Bol, chilli, beef olives, meat balls as well as some cakes made in loaf tins that I can quickly ice when needed and soup that is smooth enough to drink from a cup. I have 10 weeks left though so a few weekends to prepare.

ScotsLamb · 15/10/2017 22:18

Oh and aiming to chop chicken breasts into strips and have frozen peppers and onions so OH can make fajitas easily (he really can't cook)

Jessiecat27 · 15/10/2017 22:27

35+2 and I've got twinges sort of all across the front but low down where my hips are, I've had backache today but put that down to doing loads of washing and a bit of tidying, I know he's head down, wonder if anyone else has had them? Haven't noticed any tightenings in bump though!

lydiangel83 · 16/10/2017 08:08

Hmm @ScotsLamb all sounds good. We bought a cheap freezer for the garage for this purpose so will do some cooking this week. DH can cook but it is slow painful and messy!

@Missonhartbaby also mine is afraid lol just thought I’d suggest it in case yours isn’t!

ew1990 · 17/10/2017 12:05

I've just had the health visitor round, she was only here about half an hour, just talked through what they do - gave me leaflets and answered any questions I had

mrsjkerry · 17/10/2017 16:41

I am 37 weeks this week and so bloody impatient for this baby to come out. Is it really wishful thinking to hope that I might only have a week or two left 🤔

OP posts:
ew1990 · 17/10/2017 16:51

@mrsjkerry tell me about it, I'm 36+3 and don't know how much longer I can take of being uncomfy, it takes me all my time to get dressed putting leggings on is getting hard work
