Hi all....long story short. 39+5 with DC2. PainfulBH for 1.5 weeks, back pain, pooping....I could go on. I had a sweep almost a week ago, made me bleed a bit not much else. Was 2cm but still hard cervix. What is going on?? Any tips to get it going? We DTD this morning, heaps of RLT, I even pulled out the breast pump and have been using it intermittently. Will give another go later. I was induced 9 days late with my first. Please don't let that happen again!!!

Congrats Janet!! Hurray! They are so worth the wait aren't they. Sounds like you had a similar fast and furious labour like I did. Hope you're ok. I know I'm scarred for life and won't be going back for a third round 😂
Hang in there mini and sophiejayne.....not long now xx

Congrats Janet. Quick labours all round on this thread it seems!

Not long left mini. It'll be any day now for you

forfucksakejanet · 30/08/2017 05:23

I know! The speed of it was bloody terrifying but the staff at the hospital were amazing.

I am bloody sore right now!

When people ask for vbac stories, and stories of second labours being quicker than the first, I think I win.

46 hours first labour with ALL THE DRUGS, and emergency c section

46 minutes second labour with no pain relief

Winner! He is fast asleep now but I have been awake ages mainly cos my bum and vag are killing me. DH sent me to bed to drink tea and chill so here I am!

Not long now for you mini, can't wait to hear your news. You can do it!!! Keep going

Will miss our wee thread!! Flowers

Thank you ladies for keeping me going over the last 2 weeks, you've been legends

forfucksakejanet · 30/08/2017 05:24

And you Sophie, sorry!! FlowersFlowersFlowers

Sasmac2017 · 30/08/2017 09:23

I agree Janet, I will miss it too! You ladies definitely kept me going when the going got tough. Soon enough we will all be through to the other side.
I'm enjoying my little, guy so much. He's 4 days old today and it feels like he's been here for weeks. Such a bizarre feeling ??!?
I can't wait to hear mini and sophiejaynes news 😍

41 weeks today. Nothing happening. DD1 is at the childminders, feeling really down and sat in bed watching tv. Resigned myself to fact I'll be getting induced. Xx

sophiejayne96 · 30/08/2017 13:16

Still nothing :/ Sweep is booked for Tuesday so I'm crossing my fingers that either something happens before then or that kick starts it all. 🤞 Super fed up of waiting now.

forfucksakejanet · 30/08/2017 15:04

Fingers crossed ladies, hang in there, you're doing amazing

I went at 41+2 mini so I feel your pain Flowers

minime88 · 30/08/2017 16:23

I was having a little pity party earlier! Feel better now, dragged myself up and cleaned the house! Having a sweep tomorrow at 3pm so will see what happens but not holding out any hope xxx

helsybells · 30/08/2017 17:59

Hi all I just found this thread. I'm 39+3 with my 2nd and climbing the walls!!! My first was born at 39+3 no symptoms waters just broke and labour lasted about 6 hours so pretty quick. This time I lost some mucous plug a week ago and more today and have had continuous braxton hicks for ages and period cramps/lightning pains for a good week but still nothing. Baby feels incredibly low too, I just which things would get going!! Have tried every old wive's tale in the book to no avail!

forfucksakejanet · 31/08/2017 02:11

Hi helsy, welcome!

It's so tough at the end isn't it? You just spend your whole time looking for symptoms that aren't there and trying ridiculous things to get it moving

In the end I found nothing worked - I went into labour on my own at 41+2 a day before I was booked for a sweep and 3 days before induction

I was 6 days late with dc1 but was truly hoping for an earlier start with dc2 but it wasn't to be

Keep going, take your time with everything and be kind to yourself!

Thanks FFSJ! Yeah I'm trying to resign myself to another 2.5 weeks and just stop with the silly things that should induce labour. With my other little one dtd and accupressure seemed to have worked but nothing this time! Also I really wanted her to get some time with baby before she starts school next week (on my due date!) but it's now looking unlikely! Ho hum! It will doubtlessly all happen at once/the most inconvenient time!

Really wanted to avoid a sweep too but can have one on Monday.... think I'm desperate enough to accept it now though.

crusading · 31/08/2017 06:07

Have been reading this tread for a few days - congratulations to those whose babies have arrived.
Bells we are in the same boat currently 39+3 and really hoped baby would arrive before the end of the summer hols as worried how dd will cope with the start of a new school term, babies arrival and both myself and dh been off from work. I have spent most of the pregnancy worried about babies health and told I wasn't going to be allowed full term and would be induced at 38 weeks. Things are looking all positive which I am clearly very thankful for but after getting in my mind I was having an August baby struggling with the September consent Blush - mixed between wanting baby or been a week late to settle dd
Goodluck

helsybells · 31/08/2017 07:22

I'm exactly the same crusading now thinking it would be better if late so I can settle her in to school. Have been offered sweep day before she starts but would be heartbroken/v worried if I couldn't be there for her first day of school ☹️ . Also amazing to think if baby isn't here today then it will be a whole extra year before they start school!

sophiejayne96 · 31/08/2017 07:44

Its due date eve for me today! 🙊 Not that anything is going to happen lol. xx

crusading · 31/08/2017 07:48

Couldn't agree more, very mixed about the August v sept baby it seems crazy that it's such a black and white cut off (no idea of any other solutions and never really thought about it till expecting an early sept baby)
Missing your dd's first day at school would be rubbish, my dd started last year so going into year 1 but she is a worrier and thinker.
To top it off in laws have decided to rent a holiday cottage in the village we live for the week, but I would rather get her back into the normal school routine with the help of my dm who lives very close and helps with childcare while I work so makes more sense with stability and normality. Trying not to worry about something I have no control of.
We still have about 16hours for an August baby Confused

helsybells · 31/08/2017 10:58

13 hours and counting!! 😭😭

Bummer about your in laws crusader. I suppose it depends how well you get on with them but I would hate mine around when I was just about to have a baby...

I'm so confused about what's going on. I can pretty much feel baby bearing down but still nothing. Just BH and odd cramp.

SJ - hope you get some response soon.

I don't ever remember being this impatient when I was expecting my first but I think cos she was a few days early (effectively yesterday) everyone said this one would probably be too. I had so much damage last time too even though she was only 6.5lb and this one and 7lb at scan over a week ago 😱

minime88 · 31/08/2017 19:15

Quick update- currently on antenatal unit being induced! Baby has been really quiet and very sleepy when I was put on a trace so being induced as a precaution. First pessary will be in within 30 mins xx

minime88 · 31/08/2017 19:47

Already 2 cm so don't have to have pessary- waiting to be taken down to labour ward to have my waters broken xx

helsybells · 31/08/2017 20:54

Good luck Mini hope it all goes well!

sophiejayne96 · 31/08/2017 20:59

Good luck MM!!
So I've been having contractions roughly 3/4 mins apart for the past 45 mins pretty painful and loads of aching in my lower back. still convinced they're going to stop though lol.

helsybells · 31/08/2017 21:20

That's brill SJ! Hope it carries on for you. 🤞🤞

I'm Getting lots of pains really low down tonight frequently. I don't know if it's mild contractions or what... they are quite frequent. Baby is also very busy. With #1 my waters broke first and then contractions were like merry hell. Not sure if I'm in labour or if I'd be able to tell if I was If my waters don't break first!!

forfucksakejanet · 31/08/2017 21:28

Oooh ladies I'm so excited to hear your news!

Best of luck both, am sure you'll be fab and can't wait to hear about your babies FlowersFlowersFlowers
