Oh and Happy birthday Islington!!!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 20/08/2017 18:51

Happy birthday Islington!
Thanks for the welcome all, I'm dipping in and out as on holiday just now but have been reading & keeping up with the thread.
5 weeks today and still nowhere near letting myself imagine an actual baby at the end of this. Just trying not to think about it - holiday is providing a nice distraction. No real symptoms still except occasional waves of nausea, very very tired and largely gone off sweet stuff - not like me at ALL! Boobs are already wrecked from 5x pg/2x bf so nothing to notice there Grin
Re testing - just the NHS test here. Didn't have it with my first, had it with the second, will have it this time if we get that far. I'm youngish (late 20s) and no extra risk factors. Would def go for harmony if I was higher risk though I think - plus the extra scan is a bonus of course.

ally62442 · 20/08/2017 18:59

I'm going to try my hardest to reduce my caffeine intake @lisara79

Happy birthday @IslingtonHels

IslingtonHels · 21/08/2017 06:43

Thank you for the birthday wishes and info on Harmony/ Panorama. Wishing everyone a good week ahead. Grin

Ps quick update on my partner. He seems to be finally coming to terms with my pregnancy. I am cautious, given his asking me to get a termination and saying he will leave. However; we were in a department store yesterday and I caught him trying on a nappy changing bag! We then went and looked at baby clothes together, which he really enjoyed, I had to drag him out of there! He even made a joke about being a Dad whilst I was talking on the phone to my parents yesterday. It's looking increasingly like he was in shock and has had time to reassess his viewpoint. Fingers crossed.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 21/08/2017 08:39

Islington that's such good news! Not letting him off the hook, he's behaved horribly, but it must have been a big shock if he wasn't expecting it. Fingers crossed this is the start of his new improved state and he'll be a proper support to you from now on Flowers

ally62442 · 21/08/2017 09:33

That's really good news @IslingtonHels

Loosemoose28 · 21/08/2017 16:08

Had a probing scan today. Saw a fetal pole but no heart beat as yet. Back in a few weeks to check heart beat is there. And no more bleeding it would seem.

I feel soo ill today!

Loosemoose28 · 21/08/2017 16:10

Islington glad to hear everything settling your end x x

ally62442 · 21/08/2017 17:44

That's good @Loosemoose28 how many weeks are you? I'm so intrigued at what they are going to see with me on Wednesday.

IslingtonHels · 21/08/2017 18:04

Thanks everyone! @Loosemoose28 this sounds positive news. Really pleased to hear this xx

Loosemoose28 · 21/08/2017 22:53

5+ 4 today.

HarryHarry · 22/08/2017 00:39

That sounds good! I had my blood tested over a 48-hour period and my HCG level seems to be rising normally (60,078 on Friday, 76,400 on Sunday, ie doubling a bit less than every 4 days). However I am still seeing a bit of spotting. It seems to happen whenever I am more active - exercise, long walks, cleaning the house, etc. I am hoping it is just irritation of the cervix or whatever.

IslingtonHels · 22/08/2017 07:09

@HarryHarry, also great news! Very glad to hear this! Smile
Last night I burst into tears because I forgot to get anything in for dinner. This is not like me! And my mouth constantly tastes of metal, so I ate half a jar of Picallili with a fork and it seemed to help! Shock

ally62442 · 22/08/2017 09:03

Is any one else just got zero motivation? I mean I literally can't even be arsed to sort my hair out and put my face on! 👎🏻 which trust me is a must on a daily basis. I'm not going to be one of these woman that glow. I can tell you now. Haha

lisara79 · 22/08/2017 09:48

lol @ally62442 same here! I managed to dress and make it to work but not sure I can be bothered with much else. No make up.. nothing. Really tired, been awake since 5.30 and was sick again this morning (yay!) but just not feeling motivated.

ally62442 · 22/08/2017 10:11

@lisara79 God help me if I get morning sickness if I'm already feeling like I can't be bothered now. I'd end up rolling into to work in my pjs. (If only)

Shanners123 · 22/08/2017 11:05

Morning all, 7 weeks today hurray! Waves of nausea continue although I seem to be able to eat through them and feel fine after. Means I won't be a stick thin mama though.. They'll be rolling me out of the hospital haha!
Motivation is also at an all time low. Literally can't find the energy to do anything. Think if I wasn't in work I'd just sleep all day at home! And having to think about what to eat requires too much thought. I'm starving but can't for the life of me think what to eat! Anyone else got this going on?

OP posts:
IslingtonHels · 22/08/2017 12:50

Yes to the zero motivation! And yes to being hungry but not knowing what I want to eat.

HarryHarry · 22/08/2017 13:38

Yes, I have this too! I don't know if it's proper MS but I am really hungry but don't like the idea of eating. I also feel super lazy. Has anyone else noticed their body hair growing faster than normal? I almost didn't have any before and now I can hardly keep up with it. I'm not even going to try. Not even 7 weeks and already letting myself go!

ally62442 · 22/08/2017 15:31

At least we can all be unkept, tired, motovationless, and constantly hungry together! Haha

I no it's early days but I wonder what we will all end up having. A boy or a girl.

I know my fella would absolutely love a boy and tbh so would I. But I'll just be happy with a healthy happy baby no matter what the sex.

Loosemoose28 · 22/08/2017 15:39

Any weird eating yet?

Just had baked beans, sweetcorn and corned beef on a jacket potato?

Kinda my lunch 😂 Just realised time although bavent eaten lunch have picked today. Trying so hard to stay healthy. As technically still on slimming world.

lisara79 · 22/08/2017 15:45

@loosemoose no weird eating here really... briefly off sweet things... I'm trying to eat well too... I weigh way too much!

Ally... I also wonder what we'll have. I'm sure we'd be happy with either but both kind of would like a girl.... We'll find out when we can... so we can get used to the idea of having a boy lol....

HarryHarry · 22/08/2017 16:33

I had pasta for breakfast :(

charlie0692 · 22/08/2017 19:25

I always said I wouldn't find out what it was before I had it but now I really want to know 🙈 my husbands dying to know but told him we have to wait. It's his birthday in November, and I'll be about 20 weeks at that point so tempted to have a private scan to find out what it is before his birthday then get him one of the gender reveal balloons for his birthday as a surprise ☺ x
