I just got my BFP on the 9th June, and I'm calculated due 18th Feb 2018. Anyone else with similar dates out there who'd like to share the ride?
Current symptoms are tender, larger boobs and mild, intermittent 'cramps" In my left abdomen (more like a poke than a cramp!).

I went for my glucose tolerance test this morning. 4 hours of my life I won’t get back but I did get a nice NHS breakfast so swings and roundabouts Smile

I’m nervous about having anything in the cot in case Baby gets squished up against it and can’t breathe so I think we’ll go for an empty cot. Also need to train our cats not to get in! We’re getting a bednest so I’m thinking, bednest for baby, Moses basket for cats. Keep everyone happy!

Ds is 2.5 and still in his sleepyhead - we never had the smaller one but he was such a terrible sleeper we bought the bigger one for him when he was about 12 months.

I was worried by all the stuff in the press about sleep positioners and might not use a sleepyhead with dd during the night until she is older unless she is as bad a sleeper as ds and I get desperate. But I might get one for day sleeping anyway as it's so useful to have something to pop them in and ds never took to a moses basket or anything else I could move around the house easily!

Hi,
Just had my whooping cough jab, had flu jab last week.

I’ve bought a co-sleeping cot from Baby R Us, for £99. Not sure what to use downstairs, maybe a Moses basket.

Pram wise I’m waiting on a Mothercare pregnancy evening for 10% off, pretty much decided on the Mothercare Jouney, 3 wheels and suspension. Plus car seat and pushchair setup included for £300 and then another £30 off it.

Got some clothes, bottles and steriliser still to get. And nappies! Any tips?

Feeling kicks below my placenta, as placenta at the front. A little girl 💕

@cakesandphotos are you planning to have baby in cot in own room straight away or in with you for a while?

We have a cat which we cannot shut out as she’s a nightmare an will pluck to get in. We’ve purchased an Inovi cocoon. It’s a bassinet with a zip up canopy to protect from pets. We were very surprised how sturdy an durable this canopy is as it was delivered last week. Deff no need to worry about the cat & can be used upto 6 months old an doubles as travel cot. Just an idea incase you had not seen them 😊 I willjave no worries shutting my eyes now even if the cat is in the same room

cakesandphotos · 23/10/2017 21:57

@Anna2006 no baby will be in bednest with us at least at the beginning. It’s one of those co sleeper things. Apparently you can train a cat with tin foil - they hate the feel on their paws so we plan on lining the cot with that (pre baby!) to discourage them. Failing that, a net is the next option!

Weird baby dreams are starting to drift in! I dream that baby pushed itself so hard against my stomach that I could see the outline of its willy. Don’t even know if we’re having a boy Grin

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 31/10/2017 22:12

Last night I dreamt that I was chauffeuring the Kardashians around in my car and the new baby was in the boot to make room... That doesn't say much about my priorities, does it?!

Pregnancy does weird things to my brain!

Hello everyone! I'm due on 11th of Feb. Baby moving loads now. Feeling excited but also scared about the actual birth process. :-S

cakesandphotos · 05/11/2017 22:00

My friend is being induced tomorrow and it’s made me really aware that there will actually be a baby at the end of this process! Also having what I think are braxton hicks, it’s pretty uncomfortable.

Welcome Silvia! Do you know what you’re having?

SilviaE · 06/11/2017 07:38

Morning cakesandphotos! Good luck to your friend! I am having a little girl. :D What is your friend having?

reallyorange · 06/11/2017 21:29

Hi all. 27 weeks now for me. This is my second and I think I'm a lot more anxious with this pregnancy than my first (I've since had friends have terrible news/diagnoses so I'm more aware of what can go wrong).
My baby movements are kind of erratic, does anyone else have this? Definitely feel more in the evenings after tea but not loads during the day which occasionally worries me. Plus i have a lot fewer midwife appointments so don't get reassured as often.

I remember with my first, the movements were really strong and you could see feet sticking out of my tummy etc! But of course this was a lot later on than I am, but I still mentally try and compare it and can't do it objectively.
Have had a really stressful week as well being pulled in lots of directions (metaphorically) and about to broach potty training....!

SilviaE · 07/11/2017 06:48

Hi reallyorange! Mine is the same...def more movement in the evening after dinner and when I lie down. I think because during the day we are busy, is quite hard to monitor the baby move and lots of those movements go unnoticed.
I was thinking the same about midwife app...I would've like to have more as well...
Hope everything goes well for you! Do you know what you are having? :)

TheVoiceOfTreason · 07/11/2017 09:13

I love Mothercare discount events too @SomehowSomewhere1 ! Had planned to pick up our car seat and pushchair at one, but we went shopping this weekend and decided we really like the Cosatto Wow, and ATM if you get it in one particular design you get th car seat for free. It wouldn't have been my first choice design but it's a good deal, so we are in...plus I can get a 7.5% discount there with my EasySaver card...

cakesandphotos · 07/11/2017 12:53

My movements are erratic too. I actually went in a couple of weeks ago after getting myself in a total tizzy and baby was obviously totally fine. It’s common not to feel much during the day and when you’re super busy Smile

reallyorange · 07/11/2017 18:03

I'm having another boy! still seems a bit unreal!

SilviaE · 07/11/2017 18:25

Aww! Congrats! What about you cakesandphotos? Have you found out what you are having?

cakesandphotos · 07/11/2017 22:44

No we haven’t found out. I have 3 more growth scans still to go so hoping no one lets anything slip!

cakesandphotos · 08/11/2017 14:49

My friend FINALLY had her baby. So excited for her but can’t help feeling a tiny bit sad that we won’t share pregnancy anymore. Also kinda jealous, I want my baby now (joking, please don’t come now!)

SilviaE · 08/11/2017 18:37

That's great cakesandphotos! Congrats to her! How was her labour? Did she have a C section or natural? I am terrified of that moment :-S
So nice to be able to keep it a secret. I wanted to do that too, but could not wait :)) (patience not my strong point).

TheVoiceOfTreason · 09/11/2017 08:54

@cakesandphotos - not just me then! There's no apparent patterns to when MiniMe moves...I was waiting to go into my maternity yoga session the other day and reading a leaflet about what to do if you notice a change in the pattern of your baby's movements and it bothered me because there doesn't appear to be much of a pattern, so how am I supposed to check any changes?! Argh!

SilviaE · 10/11/2017 18:09

Hi everyone! How are your pregnancies going? Heartburn is killing me at the moment and I keep having weird dreams. :))
I am starting to think about giving birth and searching for different things to help with the pain as I am a crybaby when it comes to pain (so freaking out a bit). Is everyone else feeling the same or am I the only panicky one here? :))

reallyorange · 11/11/2017 09:48

Hi. Everything OK here except not sleeping very well, keep waking at 4am! Are you doing NCT or NHS antenatal classes? They will help you think about pain relief options.
My worry at the moment is trying to decide if I should have an elective section or not due to risk of further tearing (had a serious tear last time). Half of me thinks it'll be fine doing it naturally and the other half thinks at least I can plan and know what to expect a bit more with a section. Main worry naturally is the speed - my first came quite quickly although got stuck when pushing - so if happened again I might have to do it alone while waiting for parents to travel here and watch DC1 etc. Any advice welcome!

SilviaE · 11/11/2017 19:52

Hello reallyorange. I keep waking up as well and I had leg pains for a while, so I bought a pregnancy pillow. Not sure if it helps much, but it's nice to sleep with when not getting too hot.
I start antenatal classes in December, so not too long to wait for some advice.
I have 2 cousins who had C section because they had complicated pregnancies and they said the recovery takes quite a long time. Personally I'll try anything but the knife...too scared of that. But I guess you have to go with what you are feeling and maybe what the midwife advises... Apparently the perineal massage helps with the tearing Confused.

cakesandphotos · 12/11/2017 00:03

Giving birth is starting concern me slightly too! We’ve signed up for NCT classes so I’m sure that we’ll be given lots of information and feel less unsure by the time we’ve done them. My friend having her baby makes me realise how much I don’t know!

We’re just on our way home after a slightly scary “crap, is this early labour” episode. Fortunately not because the thought of baby coming now is terrifying and obviously it needs to cook for a while longer Smile

SilviaE · 12/11/2017 13:08

Ohh cakesandphotos, glad nothing too worrying. What symptoms did you have?
We had a scare yesterday after intercourse...I started bleeding a bit ,but I read it's normal and she is still moving loads, so keeping an eye on it at the moment and might go for an early midwife check-up this week to make sure everything alright. Confused
