I just got my BFP on the 9th June, and I'm calculated due 18th Feb 2018. Anyone else with similar dates out there who'd like to share the ride?
Current symptoms are tender, larger boobs and mild, intermittent 'cramps" In my left abdomen (more like a poke than a cramp!).

Hi cakes.

I had my 20 week scan not last week the week before. Had to do another scan as he or she would not sit still.

Starting to get heart burn and out of breath lately.

Anyone had any movement?I've had the odd flutter and pop Grin

AmyAus · 07/10/2017 08:58

Hi,
My scan is in two weeks and I am 20 weeks today. Baby is popping like bubbles but not all the time yet. But seems to be a fan of hot chocolate in the morning.
Hope you are all going to have a restful weekend.
Anyone got recommendations on pregnancy pillows? Want the most simple one that does not take up the whole bed.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 08/10/2017 19:57

Hello everyone! I had my 20 week scan on Friday - all good and we're still having a girl! Smile

Anyone else wondering how they're going to do another c. 20 weeks of this?! I'm exhausted, bursting into tears over everything and feeling horribly sick. Baby girl was wriggling and kicking for three hours straight last night, leaving me sooo tired and queasy. It's like having a washing machine in my tummy!

I had a dream genii last time which I really liked but this time have gone for a huge pregnancy pillow which dh hates! But I love it and would choose the pillow over him any day! Grin

MsP0b · 08/10/2017 20:15

@Sarahhlj, they did routine blood type test on me at booking appt and I am negative which is rare, so they checked baby’s and she’s positive blood type. Was just in hospital for the injection.

MsP0b · 08/10/2017 20:23

I’ve had clear movements since 17 weeks. 3 times a day, usually after meals, baby gets tickly and kicky. Can also be felt from outside by others. It’s nice but if she’s this strong already how violent will the kicks be later on?!

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 08/10/2017 20:47

MrsP0b that's what I'm worrying about too! Only just 20 weeks and I can already feel dd's kicks from the outside! Ds was a bit like this too and I swear he'd have broken my rib if he hadn't arrived a month early!

I do remember though that as they get bigger they have less room to move so don't pack with such a powerful punch!

cakesandphotos · 08/10/2017 21:26

I’ve been wondering that too! I can see baby kicking (head butting?!) me quite clearly. It’s the weirdest feeling. Looking forward to proper regular kicks but wondering how disruptive they’ll be! Although admittedly, it’s very reassuring to be able to feel it jiggling about in there Smile

gracemc98 · 08/10/2017 22:31

21+6 I think I've felt movement a couple times and often when I'm walking I get a pain in my lower abdomen which I've been putting down to babies positioning, is it normal that I haven't felt anything substantial?

MarmiteAndPB · 09/10/2017 09:28

I've been feeling it more and more, but every time that it's particularly strong I grab DH's hand to feel and it immediately stops. I know that soon enough it'll be happening regularly and he'll have more than enough time to feel it, but I want him to feel it now!

cakes I told work that I'll start maternity at 38 weeks. I need to get the form in before 25 weeks, but they said that I could change the dates closer to the time so it didn't really matter what I put on the form. They just wanted to get the ball rolling on arranging cover etc.

MsP0b · 09/10/2017 11:12

It’s totally normal not to feel anything till twenty two weeks or beyond.
I’ve been in and out of hospital with bleeds and blood type stuff so had lots of medical attention lately and the midwives and docs have all been surprised how much I’m already feeling.
At 17 weeks my baby kicked 2 midwives! She’s kicked 2 more since then and she always moves around and makes loud noises on the Doppler.

MarmiteAndPB · 20/10/2017 19:04

I finally got some maternity jeans. They are so comfy!! I love them. Why don't people wear jeans like this all the time? Stretchy comforting on my stomach and no digging in anywhere when I sit down. Grin

Ct17218 · 20/10/2017 19:12

I’m 23 wk and been getting movement since 16 weeks! It’s my first to! Love feeling it, getting good kicks but noting visible on the outside, but partner can feel! Hope everyone is feeling well ! Heartburn is becoming a right sod now!!

sadie2017 · 20/10/2017 20:54

Ct17218 I've been feeling kicks for a few weeks too. The two weeks he's. Even so wriggly.

Has anyone started buying stuff yet? I've no idea where to begin! X

Anna2006 · 20/10/2017 22:26

I'm the same @MsP0b first kick I felt at 17+5 and even DH could feel it. I'm now nearly 25 weeks and it's moving about a lot & kicks are getting pretty powerful. Can see it moving about through my tops 😂 Although I am very slim so midwife said may be why I felt it earlier along with a particularly active baby. As I do have an anterior placenta aswell so sometimes that can mean you don't feel it until later. Who knows. Each little one is diff I reckon.

We have deff now started the purchasing and got a lot done in the past few weeks. We've ordered pram, nursery furniture which is due to arrive end November. And the bassinet crib for room has arrived an we got it out to set up to check it.

Still to order (big things wise) mattress and car seat/isofix base next on list of things to get on order.

Have any of you guys decided on prams etc yet? What have you gone for?

Xx

reallyorange · 20/10/2017 23:21

ahhh one of the best things about 2nd pregnancies is not having to buy all that stuff again!! Although I do get pram envy when I see the huge baskets on things like the Uppababy...

I'm nearly 25 weeks. Feel movement mainly after tea and at night! So get a bit anxious during the day when not feeling much. But it's been that pattern so far.
Has anyone else had the whooping cough jab? I think we're meant to arrange it ourselves? With my first pregnancy I had a lot more midwife appts so was more on the ball but was randomly googling today and read that we need to sort it out ourselves. Next midwife appt isn't for ages so will look into it next week. It needs doing between 16 and 32 weeks or so.

And yeah loving maternity trousers. Mainly because I don't have to worry my flies are undone which I now notice I always checked before leaving the loo!

reallyorange · 20/10/2017 23:22

BTW with car seats even if you don't have isofix you can get belted bases (I had one because my last car didn't have isofix) and they're well worth it!

Just really need to order a new crib mattress and sleeping bags and some cute new clothes (not many but a nice newborn outfit or two). DS1 kissed my tummy today, he's so cute.

cakesandphotos · 21/10/2017 07:23

We have our pram and I love it! It’s just a basic mothercare one (£250 in the sale!) but it’s light, easy to fold and best of all, it has giraffes on Grin it cane with a car seat as well so I’m still trying to decide whether to splash out on an isofix seat or not. Hoping grandparents might offer…

Still need to sort nursery out. I have my eye on a bright yellow chair from Ikea and this is my chance!

Grimmfebruary · 21/10/2017 07:39

Nosing for any more pram choices!
Due February 11th.

Picking up my nursery furniture next week, chosen the car seat, pram has me stumped!

sadie2017 · 21/10/2017 19:40

Is anyone buying a sleepyhead? Not sure if this is classed as the recently banned sleep positioners?

newtoallthis1234 · 21/10/2017 20:39

I've opted for the iCandy after having a shot of a few now. Just love how easy it is to push and fold down.

Now looking at furniture. Preferring a cotbed at the moment as might last me a bit longer. Mamas and papas seem to have some good deals at the mo.

reallyorange · 22/10/2017 20:00

I'm in two minds about a sleepyhead. They're not the same as a sleep positioner but I would want to buy new and they're so expensive!
A risk factor for SIDS is overheating so that would be the only thing to look out for in any sleep surface that wasn't a firm flat mattress.

Anyone update re the whooping cough jab?

AmyAus · 22/10/2017 20:22

Reallyorange I had my whooping cough after 20 weeks. The mid wife should remind you but you need to go to your doctor to get the injection.

I found out I am having a little boy on Friday at my 21 week scan.

Anna2006 · 22/10/2017 21:16

@Reallyorange same here. I had my whooping cough an flu vaccine the same day (different arm) at 22 weeks. My midwife reminded me at 16 week appointment to get them booked in after 20 week Scan. Just ring our doctors and ask to book in and they will sort it for you.

We’ve gone for a cot bed @newtoallthis1234 we figured would last longer as can convert to toddler bed so made sense.

We’ve gone for the egg stroller with carrycot. Such a sturdy pram an we loved it when we saw it. Albeit not cheap but we plan to keep it for subsequent children.

Anna2006 · 22/10/2017 21:18

@sadie2017 I’m gonna have a sleepyhead. There not the same as sleep positoners that have gotten the bad press recently. They hold baby in a certain position. Whereas sleepyhead base is flat same as a mattress. Although I bavnt purchased it new. My friends 6 month old has just outgrown it so they said we could have it an use so bonus. I didn’t mind having it as I know where it’s been if makes sense lol.

newtoallthis1234 · 22/10/2017 22:16

@Anna2006 I loved the Egg too, it moved really well and so easy to collapse. I think it's worth the extra money.

On the sleepyhead, I think I might hold off to see how sleeping goes. I've been advised only to use if you have to as they can get so used to them that it's hard to take it away. Who knows? But planning to wait.

I am going to get a next to me crib though for the side of the bed.
