I have discovered that the key to not feeling horribly nauseous is eating pretty much constantly.

Today i have had:

2 pieces toast with marmite
Yogurt
Handful Ritz crackers
2 cheese crispy pancakes (which i thought would be nicer than they tasted)

Fancy quiche and jacket potato for tea. And some mint poppets. Hmm...poppets...

Toast with marmite sounds good... Haven't managed to have anything since breakfast at 06:10, but will be running out my office door to get something at 12:30...

dejags · 07/03/2007 12:11

2 weetabix + low fat milk
2 blocks of fudge
1 cheese and tomato sandiwch on wholegrain bread
1 packet crisps

zephyrcat · 07/03/2007 12:12

I've just had a tinned mackerel in tomato sauce sandwich [barf]!!

MrsMcJnr · 07/03/2007 12:20

M&S chunky chocolate flapjacks, mangoes, pineapples and raisin and cinnamon toast - at least one of each every day!

abgirl · 07/03/2007 12:33

With this pregnancy have started to develop a real thing for marmite crisps - the vending machines at work have them but can't find them in shops at the weekend!!

With DS I really loved fiery ginger beer, which I wouldn't touch with a barge pole now!!

peanuthead · 07/03/2007 12:44

egg mayonaise by the tub and beef hula hoops- which explains my expanding girth

Have just sent one of the guys on my desk off to find me a cheapy Easter egg. Chocolate buttons or something of that ilk... Am almost drooling at the thought of eating this.

MrsMar · 07/03/2007 13:57

finally through the worst of the morning sickness so I'm trying to eat a little less and be a bit healthier so today I have mostly been eating...

1 slice toast with half fat spread and nutella (oops, but couldn't resist)
cup of tea

another cup of tea

just had a feta and houmous salad sandwich (organic on brown bread, feeling v sanctimonious!)
tub of fresh pineapple.

about a litre and half of water throughout the morning.

Tutter · 07/03/2007 13:58

in case anyone is really interested

today:

muesli with chopped banana
egg mayo sarnie
slice of coffee and walnut cake

eidsvold · 07/03/2007 14:00

at the end of pregnancy - almost 37 weeks but seem to want a lot of choc and choc milk.

MrsMar · 07/03/2007 14:01

I'm interested tutter.... have been really concerned about weight gain, am already on the first rung of obesity ladder (14st and 5'10") and have been given dire warnings from gp, so have been watching my diet like a hawk. It's really interesting to see what everyone else is doing, esp in the light of reports out today about overweight expectant mothers needing much more care and intervention during their pregnancies.

DetentionGrrrl · 07/03/2007 14:09

i have just spent 40 mins incapacitated by nausea...which was solved with a wholemeal pitta and homemade hummus.

I should feel well for an hour now. Perhaps well enough to buy some mint poppets drools

MrsMar - I have been really careful despite my comments earlier - I've carried on going to slimming classes (with GPs blessing) I'm 1 1/2 stone over my target so not a real health issue but I certainly don't want to put on lots of weight unrelated to the baby. I'm 9+3 weeks and have put on 1 1/2 pounds so far. I have been told 3-4 pounds first trimester is fine. HTH

MrsBadger · 07/03/2007 14:12

Like Tutter I'm not sure anyone cares, but:

Bowl of Fruit&Fibre
Glass of juice
Cup of coffee
Banana and chocolate chip muffin
Chicken casserole
Apple
Hobnob

But then I seem to be past the nausea stage (but not inot cravings yet) and am eating more-or-less normally.

MrsMar · 07/03/2007 14:18

MrsMcJnr - my sister has told me off for weighing myself too much (most mornings) but so far, I've put on 2lbs (I'm 11+5) so I'm hoping I can manage how much I put on. I know it's really tedious for those who don't have such a weight issue, and all this paranoid obssessiveness it rather tedious for me too, but I'd rather monitor the situation now and not go crazy than have to face up to a 5st weight loss after the birth, plus my gp warned me I'm at a real risk of gestational diabetes (although I think he was a bit bonkers that morning, suggested I should go on a 1000 cal a day diet, and should cut out all animal products - advice I have of course totally ignored!)

DetentionGrrrl · 07/03/2007 14:20

1000 calories a day?! That's low for an ordinary dieter!

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 07/03/2007 14:23

I can see his point about the animal products though - it's an easy-to-explain way of cutting out almost all saturated fat.

DetentionGrrrl · 07/03/2007 14:26

i've gone veggie recently, so i am rediscovering the wonder of quorn so low in fat.

I'm 14 weeks and i cant manage ANY meat!
I'm loving raw spinach, tomatoes and cucumber! and my tangerines, strawberries, melon and apples are becoming a daily thing! im def getting my 5 a day, but not much else!! and its costing us a fortune in strawberries! lol

oooh and ice lollies and ice cream ( turkish delight flavour) are going down well too. Most other foods make me feel sick!

I hate to be the boring stickler but how can all you choc and crisp fans be feeding your baby that rubbish? Think of all the sugar, hydrogenated fats, saturated fat... don't think how good it tastes (cos it might taste good but it will probably make you feel lousy in the long run) think of the cr*p in it! There are plenty of nice foods to eat that are full of goodness.

Today I have had: porridge oats with 2tbsp seeds and yogurt
One oatcake with low-fat cheese
Pasta with mushroom, tuna and cheese sauce (home-made)
1 apple
4 strawberrries

Later will have:
Another oatcake with cheese
banana
two tangerines
Salmon and broccoli and green beans and new potatoes for tea

Again sorry for lecturing - I don't mean to offend anyone I just think it is really important!
