Anyone who is similar please come and join, I want to complain and not be told he'll come when he's ready Sad I know that that is the case but I can't have it repeated to me any more than what I've already heard it, mainly by the annoying fuckers who text me and ask if the baby is here yet!

I went to the midwife for a sweep at bang on 40 weeks but she couldn't do it because he wasn't engaged enough so I can't try again until Thursday which is pushing it too close to Christmas Day Angry And I had £50 worth of acupuncture yesterday and he's still as high as he was 6 weeks ago.

I'm sorry for the moan but I'm so fucked off, I just don't want him to have a birthday any closer to Christmas than what he has to Sad

If anyone was barely engaged with not even a hint of a show but suddenly dropped and went in to labour, now is the time to share your stories!

Come on Tilly and Kione! Let's hope this is it!

Kione, it could be I didn't lose any of mine until the morning of my labour

PeachBellini123 · 27/12/2016 09:40

Fingers crossed for you Tilly!

Due date and sweep tomorrow. No signs of anything happening Sad

Bumbleclat · 27/12/2016 09:43

peach Sweep for me tomorrow too! Not looking forward to it at all, I hope she comes tonight then I can avoid it

PeachBellini123 · 27/12/2016 09:46

Me neither Bumblecat. Will be a good excuse to practice our breathing though!

SerialReJoiner · 27/12/2016 09:48

EDD and sweep today, wahoo! Baby is definitely lower than before, I have perfected my waddle.

Kione · 27/12/2016 09:52

Thanks fingers crossed...How lovely to be at home Elland
That sounds promising Tilly!
I have an appointment to discuss induction dates tomorrow too...

Kione · 27/12/2016 09:59

Do they always try a sweep before induction? I haven't had one

StubbleTurnips · 27/12/2016 10:38

It's your choice Kione my obstetric consultant thinks they're useless nil value in terms of induction, also they're very uncomfortable. Had 3 or 4 last time and they did nothing.

If baby isn't engaged some midwives will refuse anyway.

Bumbleclat · 27/12/2016 10:48

That's interesting stubble so I wonder if the sweep is a placebo or because they do them generally at the end of or past gestation, the woman would have gone into labour anyway?

I can't bear the thought of someone shoving a rubber gloved finger in me and loosing the membranes :( I am fine with prospect of a baby passing through my pelvis but it just seems natural and a bit pushy.

Kione · 27/12/2016 11:06

I had obe with DD at a midwife appointment but haven't been offered one and she never even checked if the cervix was "ripe" or anything, she just meassured my belly.
With DD 7 years ago the treatment was totally different but I can't remember what happened when. That is why am asking, I am so confused and I shouldn't be with my second!
I did start having contractions the day after the sweep with DD but it took 3 painful days to give birth so I wouldn't want to repeat that.

Kione · 27/12/2016 11:08

I mean I haven't been offered a sweep this time. My appointment tomorrow is with the gynecologist, not the midwife.

PeachBellini123 · 27/12/2016 11:10

Bumble - that's my thoughts as well...midwife said they are 50/50 in terms of working but who knows if women would go in to labour naturally anyway but they say it'a due to the sweep.

Hmm. I'm so uncomfortable - can't sift my chesty cough as baby is taking up all the room. I'm willing to try the sweep if it gets him moving!

StubbleTurnips · 27/12/2016 11:27

Bumble the midwives seem to think they do more but the consultant and reg last time were very disparaging of them as an intervention. They must work for some though as its within the NICE guidelines for Inductionof labour - so must show some clinical evidence of being beneficial.

SerialReJoiner · 27/12/2016 12:37

It is difficult to prove, isn't it? You can't really do a randomised study on something like that. But I really have no problem with utilising the placebo affect in my day to day life. ;)

I am in such a grump today. My family is cowering away from my every glance. Grrrr!Confused

Dueindecember2016 · 27/12/2016 15:19

elland glad you are home with baby.

I'm booked in for Thursday morning, hopefully I can share some information with you all into the wonderful world of breech babies and c sections

Princesspinkgirl · 27/12/2016 21:31

I'm 40+2 officially fed up... Hmm braxton hicks is all I'm getting lost plug days ago just agh see midwife Thursday but she won't do anything but usual checks

Tinyhumanjan17 · 27/12/2016 21:48

I feel really off tonight me and dh dtd this morning and had odd period pains and it feels like bubba is trying to bust out the front of my bump. But had no regular patterns or anything so I'm not holding my breath

Princesspinkgirl · 28/12/2016 01:42

Nothing brings on labour I've tried lots of sex walking up like 50 steps no joke! Spicy curry even lost my plug just nothing becoming increasingly worried as DP is due back at work next week and if no baby I'll be at risk of giving birth alone ffs

Bumbleclat · 28/12/2016 10:50

I started losing my plug on Boxing Day and last night woke up at 2:30am with quite a bit of red blood on the tissue (not mucus)
I subsequently had regular waves of mild cramps low down which are now quite strong but only happening every 15-25 minutes.

Could this be the start?

Wonderflonium · 28/12/2016 10:52

They say we have to call in to midwives if there's red blood at my hospital. But sounds like something's moving, Bumble!

Bumbleclat · 28/12/2016 10:56

Thanks my midwife came this morning and said it could be early labour but that it might stop so prepared me just in case I got my hopes up but she felt the tightening of my uterus.
I declined the planned stretch and sweep because I don't want to aggravate matters!

Kione · 28/12/2016 13:15

Good luck Bumblecat sounds like it could be...
Well I went to my appointment and spoke to midwife instead on gynecologist Hmm I haven't spoken to one on the whole pregnancy, I haven't had any checks either and haven't been offered a sweep, but I am now booked for an induction tonight! I even asked the midwife to talk to me about the induction "yes, I'll give you a leaflet". And that was it. Not too impressed but hey.
So anyone has gad experience with an induction with a pessary? I have no clue what is that about.
Thanks!
