I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Hi Lucinda, I'm having a worse week at week 15 which is a let down as I felt like I was getting better last week. Thanks for asking!

I'm not sleeping well either at night. Does anyone else have trouble sleeping that's on ondan, meta or prochlo?

I'm due June 12th next year Grin, seems like forever away!

SleepymrsE · 16/12/2016 13:54

Huge congratulations lucy, I'm so thrilled for you.

IAmSeriousAndDontCallMeShirley · 16/12/2016 14:18

Huge congratulations Lucy, wonderful news. I'm really delighted for you. Enjoy those squishy newborn cuddles. Xx

Southlondon321 · 16/12/2016 14:36

Thanks Lucinda. I can't keep taking it. Struggling today with the head and just cyclizine. In two minds as to whether to bother with metochlo... not had any success with it but only gave it a weeks chance. Annoyingly cat is enjoying me being home and taken to a 2.30 poo so today is just going to get worse!!! Lol

fourcorneredcircle · 16/12/2016 19:35

Sorry to hear about the headaches south ... I'm impressed you've tried soluble tablets. They make me boak even when not pregnant did not once resort to calpol when throat got too sore for grown up pills

Lovely day here, DH drove me to work for the carol concert. Thoroughly good egg. Have sent him to whetherspoons with £25 and instructions to eat/drink it all. Also, means house does not smell of cooking. Win/win.

Realise that it now begins to sounds like we live off beige food courtesy of Greggs/whetherspoons/McDonald's. Also beginning to accept that when I'm pregnant yes, yes we do.

One day, some day, I will revert to my cooking from scratch wholesome ways other parents tell me it'll be about 18 years

LucindaE · 16/12/2016 19:55

Four you and I are very very similar stages. I also can't have cooking in the house. We live off takeaways, toast, chips and pasta (all gluten free!)

I'm bored out of my mind at home. Husband due back shortly, with food, but it's annoying he still has a fun life with after work drinks and I couldn't even manage to shower today!

MamaErmintrude · 16/12/2016 22:08

Hi everyone, I've just found this thread and read the whole thing. I feel like I know you already. I'm so so gutted i didn't find this thread earlier in my pregnancy! I'm 28+6 and in many ways the worst is over, but I had to have this week off work (been back since mid Sep) and I've been feeling so fed up. I'm due 3rd March but that still feels so far! Anyhow I just wanted to say thank you everyone for being so honest and for understanding! I don't know anyone else who's had this and I've felt so lovely until now xxx

MamaErmintrude · 16/12/2016 22:08

Lonely! Definitely NOT been feeling lovely...

fourcorneredcircle · 16/12/2016 22:12

Welcome MamaErmintrude You're here now... and that's what matters :)

Sorry to hear that this week has been a downwards turn Sad blondes has had a lot of good weeks/bad weeks too, it does happen to other people too Wink

CaptainWarbeck · 17/12/2016 02:53

Pastie I'm on those and have trouble getting back to sleep when I get up in the night to take my pills. Usually up for an hour or so. I've been going to bed early (even earlier) to try and counteract it.

South the dissolvable ones I got were the type that sit on your tongue and dissolve there, no need for water, in fact on the information sheet it said water with these causes headaches. I haven't had headaches taking the regular tablet type though with water so maybe experiment if you can.

Thanks to all those who cheered me up after my rant. I've been feeling a lot better today and yesterday, drinking lots of really cold coke and diet coke and dr pepper, it really seems to perk me up a bit. Sugar and caffeine... 13 weeks today so I'm hoping it's maybe possibly starting to ease a little bit.

Everyone anywhere near the top of the due dates list I'm very jealous of you though... I'm last argh! Saying that I don't want anyone else to have to suffer and join though.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/12/2016 08:01

Mama welcome tho means I'm back to 4th Humph 😡😉😂 I have good and bad days/weeks. Last few days been bad (for me) as in sick 2/3 times a day but I'm also not as bad as some on the thread as now 25w

The early days /weeks were bad

Four - I used to do beige as in bagel and chicken soup and plain pasta but do eat a variety of things now sausage and mash /spag Bol /fry up (god that was good) lasagne roast etc

Regardless of what I eat I'm either good and ok or am sick / I am enjoying food again tho varies if returns tho have always said better to be sick on an full stomach rather then empty and bile and stomach acid 😢😷😢😷

Waves to all from comfy warm bed 😴😴😴😴

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/12/2016 08:02

Oh and sleeping. I sleep well and no poo baby but only on cyczline

Southlondon321 · 17/12/2016 10:40

Morning. Back on just cyclizine and having a very nauseous morning! Can't get first cyclizine in yet and then I'm going into metochlopromide. Hilarious is as soon as ondansetron headache went, I had a poo too!!!! Slept 10 hours last night. Sis in laws travelling home after show tonight so one guest tonight (friend) / and two tomorrow (father and grandmother). All the family-in-law travelling back tonight. Feeling nervous about it all as it's extra pressure and meds not evened out at all due to this change. WISH ME LUCK! Good is husband is doing house work so people don't know we live like slobs.

CaptainWarbeck · 17/12/2016 10:52

Haha south we just hosted a big family do that had been planned ages in advance so couldn't really cancel... we got a cleaner in. I couldn't face juggling DS and cleaning top to bottom or even cooking so online food shop delivered and cleaner saved the day. DH doing it is just as good though!

IAmSeriousAndDontCallMeShirley · 17/12/2016 12:03

Oo yes Lucinda that newborn smell- scrummy!

Hi to everyone else, sorry to hear of people feeling so poorly.

I'm just about eating normally now, only sick a couple of times a day, but lots of nausea. But definitely getting there. 18 weeks now... feels like it's been an age! Xx

parsnips82 · 17/12/2016 16:27

Hello all.
I just want to say how much I appreciate your support and advice!
I went to see my midwife and GP who were so kind and supportive. They popped me on metaclopramide and GP has signed me off sick for 2 weeks. Still feel rubbish, but at least I can rest and not have to try and work at the same time.
You guys are amazing and super kind!

Xxx

Pastiemaid · 17/12/2016 18:37

Hi everyone,

I'm just waiting to hear back from an on-call Dr as I haven't been able to keep down any water or food for ages, and I'm feeling so dehydrated. I may or may not be going into hospital for the fourth time Sad. I've been feeling at my wit's end this week and pretty down. Just looking to talk to people who really understand how I feel! I'm nearly 15 weeks and I felt like I was turning a corner, so I've feel more upset than before.

Thanks for reading x

Freshbreadandfaith · 17/12/2016 19:17

Hi everyone! Any 'old timers' or Admin on here will remember me!
2011 I had horrendous hyperemesis and had a healthy baby girl in 2012
2015 I had horrendous hyperemesis pregnancy 2 and sadly lost my baby girl at 17 weeks
This year I had horrendous hyperemesis pregnancy 3. With last years pregnancy and this years pregnancy I was basically pregnant for 18 months, 18 months of hyperemesis worry and grief
I am delighted to tell you that I FINALLY have my rainbow baby. Boy born 22 Nov! After this journey and getting over c section my OH and I have looked at each other and both said "we CANNOT go through this again!"
We are delighted to be this side of it now but it's a tough journey for hyperemesis sufferers especially with spd and loss thrown in
I am SO very grateful for the support on this group that had got me through my last two pregnancies.
Those who run this group should feel very proud that you ARE doing something very worthwhile and so helpful
Thank you from the bottom of my heart
To all you lovely ladies suffering, know that you are NOT alone, if I can get through it so can you! There have been a lot of tears along the way. I know that once your baby is born you will feel on top of the world and one day you may well find yourself wanting to do it all again!! That is the craziness of being a mum!
Lots of love to you all. Happy Christmas xx feel quite sad to be leaving you but glad not to have hyperemesis anymore!! I did throw up after my c section from all the drugs and was put briefly on ondansetron and thought 'this feels familiar!!'
Xxx

Welcome to MamaErmintrude Sorry you 've had such a bad week and that it's taken you a while to find us. Everyone is very supportive on here, but it's quiet on Saturdays. I hope it's a hormonal surge and will settle; that seems common. What meds are you on, sorry, I may be being obtuse?
PastieMaid Oh dear, that sounds bad. You may well have been told you must go in already. Again, what meds are you on, sorry, I'm not sure; but whatever they are, I hope they will improve them; gentle cyber pats on offer. It's dismal for those who are admitted multiple times. Let us know how things are going.

Freshbreadandfaith Welcome to the Pink Castle. Grin StarFlowers
What a lovey photo. Thank you so much for coming on to encourage other sufferers, and for your lovely words. I am so glad that all is fine and you feel good after all you have been through.
SouthLondon I wish you all good luck. You deserve a medal for all this hospitality. I am glad you anyway, aren't 'loo hugging' - but 'sink hugging' is miserable.
Waves to Blondes fourcorneredcircle IAmSeriousAndDon'tCallMeShirley and CaptainWarbeck and everyone. I am so glad that some are feeling a bit better.

Fresh bread. What a cutie. Congrats

All good there. No sickness today. So weird

MotherofPearl · 17/12/2016 22:39

Fresh, I'm so pleased to hear about your lovely DS! I've been wondering how you were. Big congratulations; what a beauty he is! After all you have been through I hope you are enjoying every minute of not being sick, and really relishing the special newborn days. Flowers
Sorry I've been a bit quiet this week. Busy time and everyone seems to have a cold in my house. Will pop back when I can. Waves to all!

fourcorneredcircle · 17/12/2016 23:20

fresh thanks for stopping by with words of encouragement and hope! A lovely photo... makes me feel all squishy Xmas Smile

Hello everyone else... I've had a quiet few days aside from usual 1st thing bile and one/off nausea... keeping my fingers crossed that maybe a corner is coming...

Also, I put on a lb this week! I'm pretty sure I have a bump too... I wish I'd taken a photo of my belly the day I found out I was pregnant to compare (is that sad??) ... but, since I've now lost 1st 9lb it's hard to be sure what's baby and what's flabby skin and fat!

fourcorneredcircle · 18/12/2016 10:20

I just threw up in the bath.

Obviously ended up sat in vomit... so had to have a shower.

Then I threw up in the shower.

For fuck's sake.

MotherofPearl · 18/12/2016 10:23

Oh Four, that's a very low point. Sorry. Nobody knows just how hideous it really is. Hope the rest of your day isn't quite so bad.
