I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Lovely scan pic and yes all seem to say if hg baby is healthy :)

No funny fables from me recently tho I had a curry yesterday as df and I anniversary and wanted one. Last one I had was nye and throw it up. Every last fucking grain of rice

But last night bubs was kicking merrily through it. I was moaning in almost orgasm how yummy the nam bread was dipped in curry sauce and best of all wasn't sick 😃😃

Hi all. We've decided to go for baby no. 2 after having HG throughout my pregnancy with da. We've got a plan in place and hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst! Ds has just turned 4. Just want to try and limit TV time as much as possible as potentially 9 months of a lot of TV. He loves reading, puzzles etc and is very bright but if it's as bad as it was before I will really struggle to even get out of bed. Anybody got any ideas of things we/he can do or even more "educational TV things to watch so it's not all Paw Patrol and Blaze! He does watch some Andy's adventures but not that into it so not sure how he'd get on with adult type documentaries. Thanks.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/01/2017 18:13

Are you preg or ttc? Assume at school in sept , and prob at nursery 3/5 days a week so that's really only 7mths of tv and my view is let them watch it if you feel crap as be mainly afternoons

MagnumAddict · 26/01/2017 18:24

Hello....again

It's been a while since I posted on here and I when I had my ds I kept meaning to come back and provide encouragement to those still suffering but life got in the way and I'll be honest it was a period I really wanted to forget!

Now I'm 8+6 and in the grips of HG again it seems. Last few weeks have been a nightmare and I've lost about 6 pounds. Prescribed Cyclizine today by the midwife and had urine sent off because there was blood and ketones detected, not unexpected given how sick I've been but still felt that familiar worry.

So, back again and feeling more grateful than ever for the lovely Lucinda and co who keep this thread going Flowers

Pip1982 · 26/01/2017 18:32

Thanks hollyhop17 I'll give them both a try!! Gosh, hospital with constipation? Sounds awful!

Hollyhop17 · 26/01/2017 18:41

Yeah Pip it was bloody awful, and quite mortifying. At the risk of tmi, I wasnt able to pass wind and it had been over a week since I had been. I think they were overly cautious because I am pregnant. Hope yours is resolved more peacefully!

LucindaE · 26/01/2017 19:39

MagnumAddict Welcome back. Thanks for kind words. Sorry that you are suffering once more. I'm glad you are starting on meds. You at least are a veteran now, and the whole thing is less frightening, and with your history they are taking you seriously. We've got a couple of other returners on this thread. melleebacca and Rubyreins. Brave souls...
HaichM Lovely scan picture! It is so complicated about ketones, re your 'random fact'. Another doctor said that it is true that they measure starvation after the early stages, but they also measure dehydration in the early stages;' as to what that means - goodness knows, save it seems that if you have 3- ketones, it isn't good for you either way...

Congratulations to you and Hollyhop on manicures and pedicures, and massages...Hollyhop Hospitalisation for constipaton/being unable to pass wind must have been dreadful, as others say. Quite agonising.
Poppy I would like to advise you, but I am hopelessly out of touch with kids television and films. How about French DVD's for toddlers? Or is LO too young and might end up only speaking French lol...
Pip There are also those trusty suppositories from Boots. But if pregnant you have to get someone else to buy them from you. If dried apricots don't stay down, I've heard the tinned apricots and juice have, I believe, helped some too.
Blondes I am glad you so enjoyed that curry.

Happy to see it's possible to make the most of the good days. I learnt the hard way today, a couple of good days does not signal recovery! Eventually made it out of bed at about 4 this afternoon. I don't think I've lost any weight which considering I'm only managing to keep down one meal a day has surprised me! Maybe it's because my one meal is normally quite calorie laden.

LucindaE · 26/01/2017 20:24

Everyone - there's only a few posts left on the thread; I daren't leave it until tomorrow, unless there's a fair number of posts, and it overfills.
Here's the new link to the brand new thread. Sorry to have to nudge you over, particularly to those who have just sat down on this one.

Often at this point, I make that link fail to come out.
SickRose Sorry you feel bad today. No weight loss is encouraging at least.

I am 7wk 3days and have been having constant severe nausea 24/7 for the past 10days. I have ended up having time off work as I am to I'll to do move. I really want to enjoy this pregnancy as I miscarried last Xmas.
Gp has prescribed me cyclizine, I have been taking it 3 days and I have managed to eat my first meal tonight...Not a great deal but I managed some! I'm really hoping this nausea stops soon xxx

Boredoftryingusernames · 06/05/2018 09:30

Mel you have put your two messages on two old hyperemesis threads.....there is a new one, sorry not sure how to post a link but the active one is just lower down the page - you'll get support and advice on the new thread, glad the meds have made you feel a bit better though.
