Mine stopped monday. Nothing tuesday or wednesday but some brown on liner when woke up today and a bit when wiping today but nothing on pad.

I have no idea whats going on and cant blame dtd. I did put a urine sample in yesterday for water infection but dont think its that either. Will know for sure a week monday if nothing happens before then.

Glad ur experiment worked and i definitely think it's nothing to worry about either.

grainmum · 19/01/2017 12:05

So 6w today and plucked up the courage to phone surgery and book midwife appointment. I'm not convinced that the lady on the phone was quite sure what to do though. She didn't tell me to bring a sample or to fill in the folder before I go. Luckily I have a blank one sitting on the shelf from last time...

Boobs feeling massive and so tired, especially with an added virus on top!

Hope everything is ticking along nicely for everyone. For those further along any tips on a positive attitude to early pregnancy without becoming too attached to the concept of a baby at the end of it?

oliversmummy26 · 19/01/2017 12:27

Hi grainmum my receptionist was a bit useless when I booked booking in too, she asked me if the mw had told me when to book for, I said I hadn't spoken to the mw, how would I get hold of her without having had a booking in first?! So just booked for 8 weeks. She didn't tell me about wee sample either (fortunately I have a pot in my bounty pack from last time still) but I filled my notes in with the mw at the appointment last time..

I would love some tips on having a positive attitude and not getting too excited...Smile

oliversmummy26 · 19/01/2017 12:28

Oh and ginger I always think brown is good...I'd have thought if there was something seriously wrong your red blood would have increased by now? Fingers crossed for you..it's such a long time to wait Sad

INeedNewShoes · 19/01/2017 12:38

grain - my approach for the first 12 weeks was to keep busy and happy (spent a lot of time with friends who are good company) and to get plenty of fresh air and exercise as that helps my mental state a huge amount.

With every week that passed without incident I gradually felt a little more positive. Rather than thinking of the end goal, I just thought 'today I'm 9 weeks and everything is ok - that's one week further on than when the baby stopped developing last time so things are looking good' and then 'today I'm 12 weeks, one week further on than when the MMC was discovered last time' etc. etc. This being positive for every week that has passed got me through to the point where I could feel the baby moving (started at roughly 17 weeks for me) and then I appreciated the reassurance that everything was ok when I felt the baby moving.

Gingerbreadmam · 19/01/2017 12:48

I would have thought so too however saying that with my mmc i had one small bleed at 9 weeks then nothing until about 3 weeks later which was just yellowy brown discharge so i dont really know.

I ended up with failed medical management then emergency erpc for that one. At least with this one as the scan is at 8wks if there is nothing there it is pretty conclusive and i should be able to get booked straight in for op. dont really want op but lesser if two evils

I will ttc again asap but will start investigations for recurrent mc.

oliversmummy26 · 19/01/2017 13:18

You're right, it's good that you have the scan booked in so you only need to get to 8 weeks on your own, then you'll know either way.
If it helps I had an MVA with my mmc and would thoroughly recommend it, and touch wood I won't have to but if I had another mc I would definitley do that again. It was so quick, I was in and out of the hospital in a couple of hours and bleeding had stopped after a couple of days..just something to bear in mind.
Having said that, I have a good feeling, and really really hope you'll be just fine!

Gingerbreadmam · 19/01/2017 13:37

I have thought about the mva should i need anything again. In fact i was reading about someones experience yesterday.

I would certainly consider it should i have to. I would probably worry about the pain though but saying that i would probs worry about a ga too. Thanks for that. Ha i hope you are right!

cucumbershed · 19/01/2017 14:29

So after some spotting last weekend I had a scan at the EPU on Tuesday. All looked fine - heart beating away and size as it should be by my dates (about 8+5). Obvious relief it wasn't going to be another mmc. But today a couple of hours ago I felt a gush of fluid and some quite strong cramping. Cramping reduced to periody type now and not had any more gushes, clots or anything yet but I'm pretty heartbroken as I guess this is the end Sad

Gingerbreadmam · 19/01/2017 14:33

I dont know cucumber but have you rang epu? They should get you in for another scan. Keeping everything crossed for you.

I had a gush at 9 weeks with my son and everything was fine.

cucumbershed · 19/01/2017 15:28

I've tried calling epu & midwife but no answer. I'll keep trying but picking up DD from school at the moment. EPU is only open in the mornings so I plan to go tomorrow.

Gingerbreadmam · 19/01/2017 15:34

Good idea cucumber hope the bleeding settles and you get good news tomorrow. The statistics, im sure, are in your favour. Be thinking of.you and hoping for a good outcome.

cucumbershed · 19/01/2017 16:10

Thanks ginger. Irritatingly I missed a call from my midwife as I was driving. She left a message saying I had an infection somewhere according to my urine. Tried to call back but can't get hold of her! Maybe this is related to the bleeding. Prob not but I'm willing to hope!

Gingerbreadmam · 19/01/2017 16:40

Not great that you have an infection but if that's where the bleed is from then that is a good thing. Hope you can speak to her. She might even be able to arrange a scan today?

MrsK8541 · 19/01/2017 17:06

Hello, can I join? I'm 6 weeks pg after a mc at 7 weeks in 2014 and an mmc at 12 weeks in 2015, where baby stopped growing at around 8 week.

I'm feeling very anxious about this pregnancy, but I had very few symptoms with both mcs, and this time I have the sore boobs, tiredness and started to feel very nauseous!

I'm getting dull cramps in my hips and lower tummy which the doctor has said is normal, but I'm still worrying! I have an early scan booked for this Saturday, so praying we see something positive.

Gingerbreadmam · 19/01/2017 17:31

Hey mrsk im on your antenatal group!

I had an mmc in 2014 followed by a stillbirth in 2015 and now im 6+5 altho think thats a few days out not many symptoms here tho and have already had some bleeding so waiting till monday 30th when ill be 8+2 for a scan to aee whats going on.

MrsK8541 · 19/01/2017 17:39

Ah hello ginger! So sorry to hear about your losses, sadly it seems we're in good company. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for your scan.

LuckyinOctober · 19/01/2017 18:00

Any update whatser? I'm 38 + 3 now so could be any day now for me too. Think you're likely to go before me though, good luck!

XxBecxX · 19/01/2017 18:34

Oooh lucky do you think you'll b early?
Have you joined us an facey yet x

Gingerbreadmam · 19/01/2017 18:37

Thanks mrsk and you too.

We certainly are!

Whatsername17 · 19/01/2017 18:59

Well I have some news ladies! After having a bit of a funny turn earlier I rang MAU and had to be checked over. My bp is creeping higher so I'm booked in for an induction either tomorrow or Saturday. The consultant did a sweep and I'm 2cms dilated so, hopefully, I should just be able to have my waters broken. Fingers crossed!

Gingerbreadmam · 19/01/2017 19:07

Ooh whatser exciting news. Hope everything goes nice and smoothly and cant wait for a photo update.

LynseyH · 19/01/2017 19:29

Welcome to the thread mrsk. Sorry this is the thread for you but your in good company here. We've also started a Facebook page which is currently just the ladies from this thread.
Best wishes for the coming months.
whatser that's so exciting, although a shame it has to be blood pressure related. Can't wait for the news you've had your little girl :-)
Not much happening with me, just home from a tiring kids party. Feeling tired and heavy so a night on the sofa it is.

Sorry I can't remember who it was that asked up thread about advice on staying positive, but the only thing most of us echo is to take a day at a time. Each milestone does make it easier. Think of things you have coming up not baby related either, Christmas was a great distraction so any birthdays to focus on? Any holidays booked?

doleritedinosaur · 19/01/2017 19:42

Ahhhh whatser 2cm is good. Sorry you have to be induced & hope it goes well when it does Happen.

Welcome mrsk

Not long for you either lucky!

I'm so jealous of all of you at the very end. I'm so huge, can't sleep properly & nausea is awful unless I keep eating or completely distract myself.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Whatsername17 · 19/01/2017 19:44

I won't get my water birth, but I really do not care. I just want her safely here now! They've promised I can stay mobile too which is nice!
