Spotting, cramping, "is my clearblue digi accurate?",* viability scans, measuring behind, measuring ahead, high hcg, low hcg, morning sickness, lack of morning sickness, anomaly scans....

That's right, folks, it's the place where scanxiety really means something, where the feeling like you're always going to be on the wrong side of statistics nevers go away, and where moments of sheer terror are par for the course ...it's pregnancy after infertility.

Join if you want to hang out with a supportive group of women across all different stages of pregnancy who can't believe they got here and are hoping like hell its all going to be ok.

Congratulations Vixx, lovely to hear from you! Echo Grumpel on the 2 hour labour though, wow! Great to hear that there is light at the end of the very long infertility tunnel. Flowers

RoseBud2016 · 17/01/2017 13:29

Hi all,

Sorry for the silence- the 12 to 16 week fear got me and I needed to just get to the 16 week appointment before coming back on here.
I had my 16 week midwife appointment today at 16 + 4 and we heard our baby's heartbeat for the first time, which was amazing! I was so scared something was going to be wrong, so we are very relieved.

Vixx You already know how happy I am for you. But HUGE congratulations again lovely! xx

Stealth So pleased to hear that motherhood is treating you well and you are getting into the swing of it all. How are night times going?

Grumpel The next few weeks will fly by, and if Stealth and Vixx are anything to go by maybe your little one will come early too! Have you bought all the main items you need now? Where are you hoping to give birth- hospital, birthing centre? The best of luck for these last few weeks in preggo land.

Blueroses It must be such a hard time for you- I am thinking of you and Mr Blueroses. So pleased that your stitch has been agreed, and I hope that this can go someway to reassure you this time.
I want to thank you for your insight into cervical stitches and measurements. As a result of the information you have given me, I have asked my midwife to refer me to have my cervix measured (I have had abnormal smears in the past which resulted in colposcopies and a number of other procedures that I can't remember the name of) so I am pushing for measurements to be done.

Hello to everyone else. It's got lovely and busy on here, which is fantastic to see!

Blueroses99 · 17/01/2017 16:48

Rose how lovely to hear the heartbeat, I'm glad to hear all is well but don't forget we are here for you if you are worried etc. I hope the cervix measures ok, I'm glad you're getting it checked.

Custard you'll be fine to stop progesterone as the placenta will have taken over by now. BUT progesterone can be used to the strengthen the cervix, so as you are concerned about yours, it might be worth holding on til you are measured, there is no harm in continuing to take it (check with midwife first obv). Have you had your 12w scan yet?

I think 'cervix' is one of the most used words in my vocabulary at the moment, but I must remember that it isn't generally used in polite conversation. Was speaking to a colleague, a male IT project manager, about it and after a few mins I was like WTF am I doing?!

Custardandcream · 17/01/2017 18:02

Blueroses I would probably do that, but I only have 16 pessaries left and I very much doubt I could get another prescription as my midwife does not think I will have a issue with my cervix (my scan is booked privately to hopefully put my mind at rest). It's so good you're making people aware of the issue but the idea of discussing my cervix with my old IT manager has made me laugh though!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/01/2017 14:49

custard, i took ivf drugs till 14w (oct) as wasnt happy stopping at 12, cut down slowly as been on progynova most of 2016

clinic said they usually stop by 10, but say 12 to cover their bets ......... but said fine to carry on if made me feel happier

Blueroses99 · 18/01/2017 20:41

Feel like I'm at risk of monopolising the thread, sorry Blush but my stitch is booked for 3rd Feb (yay!) and I've been signed off work for 6 weeks afterwards. Unlikely to want to return to work at 20 weeks though so that might be it for me workwise. We're completing on our new house on the 3rd and were planning to move that weekend so I'm not sure what'll happen there!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 18/01/2017 22:59

Congratulations Vixx!

I'm so happy to read about your stitch date Blueroses - it must be a relief to have a date and know that it's happening. Good luck with the house move - we've been waiting to move since September and now mid - Feb is being bandied about though I won't believe that until it actually happens :)

Lovely that you got to hear the heatbeat Rose, and that all is going well with the pregnancy.

Custard I also stopped the progesterone at 12 weeks though hadn't been experiencing bleeding so realise it's different. I hope your ILs were thrilled with your news?

Only four weeks left Grumple - goodness! It's getting real!!

Hello to everyone else

loopylou1984 · 19/01/2017 08:19

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been about lately, we've just moved house and it's all been a bit chaotic!

Our twins are now coming by c section at 34 weeks.... which is 3 weeks tomorrow! Confused
The consultant just feels it's best to get them out ASAP. We discuss all the plans at our next appointment in just over a weeks time, but obviously we are looking at a bit of a stay in hospital. They're estimated at 2Lb13 and 2Lb14 at the moment (well on Monday) so I'm just trying to eat as much as possible to get them growing!

Blue roses - I'm so glad they're doing your stitch, and sounds great about being signed off. See how you feel about going back. 20 weeks is early and 20 weeks at home waiting for the baby might be too boring!

Custard - my clinic said I could stop the progesterone after my 7 week scan but I kept going to 12 weeks as had loads left. Just cut down the dose gradually.

Rosebud - congratulations on hearing the heart beat! It's such a lovely sound :).

Vixx - congratulations on the birth of your boy!! I'm so glad you're so happy :).

Stealth - glad to hear bubs is doing well. I have to start hand colostrum harvesting at 32 weeks in preparation for 2 premature babies!

Waves to everyone else, xx

JustTrixie · 19/01/2017 11:00

Congratulations on the birth of your little boy Vixfacee.

We had a private scan at the weekend at 10 weeks and the difference between now and the viability scan is amazing, baby actually looks like a baby and was wriggling and waving away, was so lovely to see. I still can't quite believe it is actually happening. Have just under 2 weeks to wait for my 12 week scan and booked in to see a Consultant too on account of being slightly high risk due to IVF.

Had my booking in appointment this week which was really good but apparently they have moved to paperless and I have to access an app for my notes. Only problem is the app doesn't seem to exist when I search for it Confused

Blue, if you don't have to go back to work then make the most of it. I'm planning to go on maternity leave sooner rather than later.

Hope you managed to organise your 4D scan MPP, our scan at the weekend was with Babybond and they were really good.

Hope you're all settled into your new home Sammy, what a busy start to 2017 for you!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

friends123 · 19/01/2017 12:13

Blueroses, I'm so glad that you've got the stitch booked in! I would certainly rest up if you can. Good luck with the house move, we're currently having a new bathroom fitted. (Trying to be proactive without anything baby related just yet)

MPP, Babybond have been amazing with me. I know it's different area but they go into so much detail compared to the NHS. It will be amazing.

Rose, I'm glad you're doing well.

Afm , I'm currently 23.2, no further leaking or infections! My cervix is closed! The NHS won't do another scan until I'm at least "viable" but then I don't have another consultant appointment for 4 weeks. I had a private scan two weeks ago and everything is looking good.

Blondes, I hope that you're doing well.

Grump. Only 4 weeks to go Wow. Hope it goes quick for you.

Hi to everyone else and congratulations vix.

friends123 · 19/01/2017 12:27

I was also wondering, does anybody get shooting pains don't below? I've been to triage over it but they say they can't find anything wrong.

anametouse · 19/01/2017 17:37

Friends - I had that, stabby fanjo I called it. I believe mumsnet sometimes calls it something like knitting needle fanjo/fanny - seems petty common to be honest

Blueroses99 · 19/01/2017 18:16

Genghis good luck with the move! All happens at once doesn't it?!

Sammy wow not long at all now. Time in hospital is to be expected but I'm sure they will be well looked after and into your lovely new home in no time!

Trixie yes they change so much so quickly! Glad things are going well. My notes are fully paper based so the app sounds quite progressive (if you can find it of course).

Friends so pleased to hear you're doing well, and no infection or leaking.

I will see how it goes with work as I may get bored but to be honest I am feeling very risk averse. I'm signed off for the first 6 weeks after the stitch, not because that is the recovery time from the procedure but because the baby's head is roughly the same size as the cervix and undue pressure may cause it to open. Once the baby's head is bigger that is no longer a concern, but having had a 21w loss, it doesn't feel right to go back at a 'risky' time. I want to at least reach viability at 24w. I can start mat leave at 29w. The success of the stitch is defined as reaching 34w so I may not go to term. My sick pay allowance on a rolling 12 month basis is 8w at full pay, 8w at half pay, then unpaid, but I've used up 7w already when I was off last year. My mat cover is still around, he started in July to cover my boss's extended paternity leave, and was due to take over from me in Oct, obv that didn't happen but my boss has only just returned so I'm handing over assuming that I'm not coming back anytime soon though the door is open. I'll just have to take it a few weeks at a time!

Mrscrabtree · 19/01/2017 19:04

anametouse - stabby fanjo!! Lol! Great name for it - I've had it too glad to hear it's common.

Glad everyone seems to be ok. Sounds like you've got a good solid plan blueroses x

Smurfy1981 · 20/01/2017 11:39

Not been on for a wee while- trying to enjoy mat leave and get everything ready!! vixx great to hear of the arrival of ur wee boy blue pleased to hear u are getting the stitch xx grumple not long to go now- waves to everybody else
Afm- i will be 38 wks tmoro- saw midwife yesterday and baby is head down- but not engaged- a definate wriggle monster tho- think he is gonna keep us on our toes!!!

friends123 · 20/01/2017 12:28

Haha, thanks anametouse! That made me and my DH chuckle!

Sara237 · 20/01/2017 17:10

Justtrixie- I'm having 10 week scan and harmony test on Mon so was nice to read about your waving and wriggling bubs! How fantastic!
Blueroses- your plan sounds eminently sensible. In fact I would give up work today if possible! Hope the move isn't too stressful.
Friends - I gave had couple if stabby fanjo moments think its uterus stretching and general accommodation. So odd to think we are growing a whole new organ!oh and then there's the actual baby ...
Sammylou- how exciting! Three weeks left wow. You've done amazing.
AFM - am 10.1 feel fine, scan on Monday. Starting to realise I might actually get a baby out of this ☺

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2017 22:07

Blue you are not monopolising the thread. You are making some in here aware of something they didn't know and can ask to be checked

Sammy. Wow at moving heavily preg !!! Weights sound good for age. Try expressing colostrum in shower or warm flannel on boobs. I've done it before with a client of mine. There are videos on YouTube to help if have difficult or speak to mw

Trixie I'm consultant led due to age (43) ivf and dvt

I get seen and scanned every 3w and TBH it's resssuing to keep seeing and hearing bubs

Friends. Glad cervix is closed and thank god for private scans eh.

Pains could be stretching/growing pains or baby kicking

Smurfy. Not long now

Sara. Agree getting to 12w is a huge milestone for most of us

Custard how did parents take news?

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2017 22:10

All good here. 30w yesterday

Have 4d scan tomorrow. Gonna be fab to see bubs again but ahhhhhh at 4d as at 16w looked very alien ....

Custardandcream · 20/01/2017 22:48

Blueroses so glad you've got the date for the stitch

Sammy wow not long for you, how exciting, hopefully they won't need to stay in hospital for too long.

Trixie hope you managed to access the app soon

Friends glad to hear you're doing ok

Smurfy Doesn't sound like you have long left

Sara the difference between 7 and 10 week scans is amazing, hope your scan goes well on Monday

Blondes hope you enjoy your 4d scan tomorrow

Blondes & Genghis DH's parents were really pleased which was nice (I'm finding telling people a bit hard, fells like I have extra pressure which I know is silly)

AFM I've dropped down to 1 progesterone a day. I had to go and buy maternity jeans yesterday, I could do up my jeans but it wasn't comfortable. Can't decide if I'm showing or bloated or just totally over did it at Christmas! I'm 12 + 2 so it seems a bit early for a bump

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/01/2017 13:55

All good with 4d scan. Bubs looks adorable. Can't wait to meet her.

30.2w and weighs 3lbs 8oz 💓👶🏼💓

Mrscrabtree · 21/01/2017 16:06

Wow, what an amazing picture blondes! She looks beautiful, yay! X

Sara237 · 21/01/2017 21:37

What an amazing image! Wowsers.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 22/01/2017 06:22

Oh Blondes, what a lovely photo! She sure is adorable.

Custard I'm glad the announcement went well! I also felt a bit stressed telling people - I would have been more than happy not to have told anyone for the entire pregnancy.

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Sara.

Friends, I'm so delighted that all is going well with your baby - great news!

Good luck Smurfy - 38 weeks! I hope the baby engages soon for you.

I agree with you taking it easy Blueroses, and just seeing how things go/how you feel.

Hello to everyone else - I hope everyone's having a lovely weekend!

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/01/2017 09:29

Seems more real now we've 'seen' her and can't believe almost there
