Spotting, cramping, "is my clearblue digi accurate?",* viability scans, measuring behind, measuring ahead, high hcg, low hcg, morning sickness, lack of morning sickness, anomaly scans....

That's right, folks, it's the place where scanxiety really means something, where the feeling like you're always going to be on the wrong side of statistics nevers go away, and where moments of sheer terror are par for the course ...it's pregnancy after infertility.

Join if you want to hang out with a supportive group of women across all different stages of pregnancy who can't believe they got here and are hoping like hell its all going to be ok.

AFM, no news here really. I have my 24 week midwife appointment tomorrow, slightly early as I'll only be 22+4 but apparently the clinic isn't running as normal between Christmas and new year so I have to go in earlier. Also, at the start of January, DH is travelling to France for a week to work and I'm considering going with him but a little nervous about flying while pregnant. I'm 100% sure I'm being silly but would really appreciate being told that everything will be fine, if anyone has any experience. I'll be 25+3 at the time.

Hope all is well with anyone I've missed!!

lucieloos · 20/12/2016 11:46

Ohh where do you do aquanatal MPP? I've struggled to find somewhere although I think they might do a class at holiday inn by J32. I'm also interested in when would be a good time to get away. DH and I would like to go somewhere next year. We will either stay in the UK or go on a short haul abroad but that would be around 27 weeks and I have no idea how I will be feeling at that time?

MPP81 · 20/12/2016 12:03

Its in Caerphilly leisure centre on a Monday, 11-11.45am. Its not a big class but its good fun. It restarts now in January and there's a facebook group for it too. Yes, we talked about getting away and when this trip came up I thought it might be a good opportunity to go somewhere (and only have to pay for one of us!). Just a bit nervous about the flying :-/

lucieloos · 20/12/2016 12:08

Ahh I won't be able to go at that time because of work. I need an evening class but there aren't many about. I'm sure the flying will be fine. It will only be a very short flight.

MPP81 · 20/12/2016 12:14

Yes the midwife who runs the Caerphilly one said they would probably get more people if they could run an evening class but that they just don't have the extra staff to do it. Maybe one to keep in mind once you go on maternity leave? I'm already finding it sooo comfortable in the pool - nice and weightless - and some of the further along ladies swear its the only time they feel comfy.

lucieloos · 20/12/2016 12:18

Yes that's a good idea will definitely keep it in mind as will be better for me during the day once I'm in maternity. When are you looking to finish work?

MPP81 · 20/12/2016 12:25

I'm still in the very lucky position of not currently working as I'm finishing my degree. My final assignment is due two weeks after my due date so I'm hoping to get it done and submitted before baby arrives, otherwise I'll have to defer for the sake of one assignment, and I don't really want to do that. When are you hoping to finish?

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 20/12/2016 12:42

We saw a perfect 120 bpm heartbeat at the scan, hurrah! It finally feels like we may actually have a baby in 2017!

kiwiblue · 20/12/2016 12:48

Such a lot of great updates!! So nice to read them all.

Stealth huge congrats!! Hope you are feeling a bit less sore. What a lovely early Xmas present Smile

Blueroses good luck with the fighting for the stitch, I hope they're all helpful and listen to you.

Custard so glad scan went well

Rose great news and so lovely you can tell family on Christmas day!

Friends hope you're doing OK and they're looking after you.

Sammy great news re the twins, so glad all looks good. Hope you can relax a bit over Christmas.

Lucie I was also anxious leading up to 20 week scan, I think that is normal. Re travel (and to MPP too), I'm going away next week (to Cyprus so 4.5 hour flight) and will be 24 weeks then (and 25 when come back). I feel fine, in fact I think this is a good time to travel as I'm feeling pretty good and have plenty of energy. MPP I travelled to NZ at 12 weeks and back at 15 and was a bit worried about it so did my research and it is absolutely fine. I think it was stealth who travelled all through her pregnancy pretty much!

As for me, I'm doing well, 23 weeks now and feeling lots of movement. Starting to arrange my finish date at work which feels strange! Looking forward to Christmas and a week away.

Also keen for the babies thread, will check that out!

kiwiblue · 20/12/2016 12:59

Yay hedgehog great news!!

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 20/12/2016 14:40

Thanks kiwi Grin

Blueroses99 · 20/12/2016 16:00

MPP good luck with the midwife. I'm not allowed to fly so it's uk holidays for me, but France is a nice short haul flight, should be fine if you're feeling ok. Don't forget your European health insurance card and to tell your travel insurance that your pregnant. I had to pay when I ended up in A&E as not everything is free in France - but the EHIC makes it cheaper. I'd love to do aquanatal but too scared.

Hedgehog that's great news!

Kiwi glad you're doing well.

blue good to see the babies thread up and running. May it always have many members x

AgainstTheOddsNo2 · 20/12/2016 19:10

Hi all,

Let me put it this way we were trying when my friend told us she was pregnant. We celebrated her little ones first birthday last month.

I have Pcos and for about 6 months of the time we have been ttc I was bleeding constantly. I have been put on metformin and lost just under 3 stone and my cycles came back and still nothing.

I THINK I just got a BFP it was on a clearblue +/- so I am dubious but excited! DH is in disbelief.

We have 1 7yr old DC already and thought a sibling was never going to happen.

Pebbles086 · 21/12/2016 19:37

Hello ladies,

Like I said I am a lurker. All thanks to blue who suggested I join you all once I felt brave enough.
I am 12 weeks 4 days and had my scan this week everything is looking perfect (as they say) so I thought I'd brave my MN announcement. I am sure you all know the feeling of still being in disbelief and being wary of talking about it for fear of jinxing things.
Hello rose I should really be thanking you for pointing me in the direction of good old inositol Grin it really did help my mad PCOS. I am pregnant from a natural FET. Something I never thought would be an option for me all those years ago when I didn't see AF for over 8 months! Can you believe it?! Was really pleased to see your great news after all you've been through with your treatment.
icy nice to see you've still got your charming wit keep you sane. I hope you're enjoying getting bigger and it's not so surreal anymore.
Thanks again blue for encouraging me to join you.
Big hellos to everyone else. I am trying to catch up and get to know you all. It will take me a while!
friend hoping everything is still OK and you're home resting.
against congratulations on your BFP.

RoseBud2016 · 21/12/2016 19:51

Boris so sorry to hear you have been back in hospital. So pleased that baby Boris is feeling better now. Hopefully you can have a lovely, complication free Christmas Smile

Congratulations Hedgehog! Great news!

Welcome Against- a fellow PCOSer here!

Pebbles I am 12+5 today and had my 12 week scan on Monday! We are pretty much twins! Smile So pleased that things are going well for you too- crazy how things happen sometimes huh?! Are you still taking the inositol? I'm taking it religiously every day still. I'm just going to keep going with it all the way through I think.

Pebbles086 · 22/12/2016 06:08

You are right rose, how things can change. It takes time but so worth the wait. We are literally due the same time then!
I stopped taking Inositol during the 2ww. I am wondering weather to start again as I have to take the GTT in march. Will it make a difference? Has your midwife booked you one?

Morning to everyone else.
Hope the new mums and babies are doing just fine.

RoseBud2016 · 22/12/2016 07:42

Pebbles I have to do the GTT too. I always thought it was advised to continue taking the inositol during pregnancy but now you've said that I'm questioning if I'm right.
I think I will ask the consultant, just to be sure.
Stealth or any other PCOSers- any knowledge on this?

AgainstTheOddsNo2 · 22/12/2016 08:00

Hi. It's good to see lots of pcosers around. I now don't know if was a bfp or not. It seems I can see a line. Then I can't see a link I have p'd on so many sticks!

Technically I am late but with my cycles that doesn't mean anything and I think I ov'd late (of course if I ov'd)

There is enough to build up my hopes but not enough to think I am actually pregnant (been trying for so long and it was only metformin and a 3 stone weight loss that gave me a cycle to start with)

I assume even if there is a hint of a line s perm met egg. Just don't know if it took. But it has to be a good thing that there was an egg in the first place I suppose

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 22/12/2016 11:05

Against try again with first morning urine, that should give a darker line if you're pg. Ooh, I hope you are!

Custardandcream · 22/12/2016 11:43

Congratulations Hedgehog & Pebbles

Good luck Against

I've had a bad night, started bleeding fairly heavily last night, it's a lot more than over the weekend and is mostly bright red Sad I have a scan at a early pregnancy unit later

lucieloos · 22/12/2016 11:53

Sorry to hear that custard really hope everything goes ok later.

Blueroses99 · 22/12/2016 12:05

Welcome Against. Can you find out if your GP or EPU will do blood tests (betas) to measure HCG? I don't think they are done routinely but you find someone sympathetic. To get anything on a stick, something must be happening in there. Good luck.

Pebbles and Rosebud great news on the scans!

Custard sorry you're having another scare. Sending you lots of positive thoughts, good luck at the EPU.

AFM I am accepting that a decision won't be made about my stitch until 13wks. Hopefully they will decide to do a preventative stitch, but I'm stressing myself out so much about it that I'm no longer enjoying the pregnancy so I'm going to save my battles for the second trimester. I was so worried that my anxiety was harming the baby but my anxiety levels have stabilised since I decided to stop thinking about it now. My cervix was measured for the first time today - 3.5cm. I know it's on the short side of average for this stage in my pregnancy, but not worryingly short yet. On the plus side, I got to see the little one again, measuring exactly on track at 7+3 💕
