Spotting, cramping, "is my clearblue digi accurate?",* viability scans, measuring behind, measuring ahead, high hcg, low hcg, morning sickness, lack of morning sickness, anomaly scans....

That's right, folks, it's the place where scanxiety really means something, where the feeling like you're always going to be on the wrong side of statistics nevers go away, and where moments of sheer terror are par for the course ...it's pregnancy after infertility.

Join if you want to hang out with a supportive group of women across all different stages of pregnancy who can't believe they got here and are hoping like hell its all going to be ok.

Thanks ladies, Blondes scan is on Monday, feeling a bit numb currently don't know what to think.

friends good news about baby friends and that your not showing signs of infection. Being on the delivery ward must be so hard Flowers

lucieloos · 17/12/2016 22:45

Custard, I really hope everything works out. I had a fairly big bleed around 9 weeks. It was way more than spotting and filled the tissue when I wiped. It was like that throughout the day and then a little lighter the following day. I really thought it was all over and booked in a scan and the baby was fine. They thought it was a small area of bruising which caused the bleed. I'm not trying to give you false hope but don't give up yet.

Friends, good luck with your scan on Wednesday. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/12/2016 08:43

Custard I hope tomorrow's scan gives you hope. As said some do bleed. My friend did after ivf and assumed lost her baby yet when for an early scan and there was a heart

I hope is the same for you but so horrible to wait

Friends also horrible you are on the delivery ward. My hospital only has private rooms after rebuilt 5yrs ago

Thinking of you both 💐

Blueroses99 · 18/12/2016 14:59

Friends it's great that there is no sign of infection but it must be hard being in that environment while you're worried. Thinking of you Flowers

Custard I had an episode of unexplained bleeding last time too and there was a heartbeat afterwards so hoping all is well at your scan tomorrow.

I've got my sympathetic GP and bereavement midwife contacting the pre-term clinic to get some more information about my care and pushing for the stitch. In the meantime I've got scans booked on 22nd and 28th and my midwife booking in appointment on 29th December so will be trying to get everyone onside for the stitch. Will become a broken record if I need to...

loopylou1984 · 18/12/2016 16:17

Custard I'm keeping everything crossed for you. Xx

stealthbanana · 19/12/2016 06:25

Hi all - just to update you that little baby boy stealth arrived yesterday, a couple of weeks early but in fine fettle. It was a very long labour ending finally in an emergency section so I am tired & sore, but all is well and I am having lots of divine little baby snuggles (interspersed with sending him to the nursery in hospital whilst I get some rest!).

Hope you are all well, I have been following this thread though not posting much. friends FX that everything is ok with your little fighter. custard ditto with your embie - early scans are so nerve racking especially when you've had bleeding. sammy hope the twinnies are thriving. blueroses hoping you are getting a better level of care than you've experienced recently - have been reading your blog & have had you and Jovan in my thoughts.

Everyone else, sorry not to namecheck but I am thinking of you all and cheering you on every day. I'm sitting here with my gorgeous little son latched on (he's taken to feeding like a duck to water - greedy! Grin) and feeling quite emotional that there light at the end of the infertility tunnel for all of us on this thread. Much love to all ❤️

Congratulations Stealth, so pleased for you :). How many weeks were you? Enjoy those snuggles :).

We have our next growth scan this morning so I'm just keeping everything crossed that all is ok Confused 26+3, another couple of weeks and I'll feel happier. At least time should go fast with Christmas. Xx

Nurse15 · 19/12/2016 09:46

Custard everything crossed for you today - I know its such a frightening time so cant say anything to make it better but am keeping my fingers crossed for some good news.

Sammy good luck to you too. Really hope the twins are doing well and you can relax a bit and enjoy Christmas.

Friends how are you getting on? Thinking of you Flowers

Blue2014 · 19/12/2016 11:01

Congrats Stealth!!
(Shall we have a "babies after infertility thread " now? - I don't feel I belong anywhere now! )

Friends, custard and Blue my thoughts are still with you. And everyone else

Grumpelstiltskin · 19/12/2016 11:37

Catching up...

Friends so sorry to hear that you've had such a worrying time. Are you still in hospital? Will you be for a while, or on bed rest at home? I hope either way you're getting the best possible care and are as ok as you can be. Thinking of you and the battling baby friends.

Custard echoing everyone else in hoping that the bleed is just one of those things sent to try us. It can be ok, and have everything crossed it's the same for you.

Blueroses good for you in being vocal and fighting for the care you need. Shouldn't be that way of course but at least your GP is on your side. Hope that you get the stitch ASAP.

Sammy hope the scan shows good news and growth. Go, twinnies!

Pebbles! good to hear from you - remember your name from mindnumbers. How are you doing?

Definitely agree that a babies after infertility thread is in order now so we can stalk keep track of you and Blue and your little ones, and hopefully join you in time.

Chocolate any news on your harmony results yet my love? X

Pebbles hello stranger! How are you doing? X

AFM- we had our 12 week scan this morning (at 12+3) and all is very well. We are so, so relieved. I was a blubbering wreck before and during. Measuring 3 days ahead with NT measurement of 1.5mm. And all body parts present. Absolutely over the moon and now cannot wait to share our news on Christmas Day with close family. Smile

loopylou1984 · 19/12/2016 12:58

My scan went well thank you everyone. Babies have grown, they are now weighing 1lb11 and 1lb13 and blood flow and fluid are normal :). Xx

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 19/12/2016 13:08

rose fab news about your scan - perfect timing pre Christmas too! What is next step for you? 16 week midwife appointment? I guess it will come round quickly given Christmas! Have to told anyone at all yet?

Thanks for asking re harmony - I had my re-draw on Friday and also saw the consultant for my 12 week nuchal. She wasn't convinced the re-draw would work - she spotted the bruising on my stomach and said immediately, ah you're on clexane - I see a lot of IVF patients on clexane and the harmony test doesn't seem to work. Might be because its a blood thinner??? Anyway! We shall see.

My scan went well too so feel relieved - baby is tall and moving around A LOT. So amazing now they look like a real baby. Some of the measurements seemed to take forever as there was so much wriggling!!! I haven't had the NHS combined test yet - that's on Friday so there is still a chance that something is picked up but consultant seemed to think everything looked good and she seemed incredibly thorough (in my v limited scan experience) so am feeling (relatively) positive for once!!

Sammy that's fantastic news about the twins!!! That seems v even in weight too which must be a good sign???

JustTrixie · 19/12/2016 14:00

Congratulations on the birth of your little boy Stealth!

Genghis, spotting had stopped but then had some more on Wednesday and nothing since. Trying not to worry.

Lucie, I am doing ok, time is going ridiculously slowly though. I just want to know if everything is ok in there. Have my scan on Friday morning (at 6+5) and it is hard to think about anything else in the meantime. My symptoms are really mild, I've read that prednisolone can mask them so hopefully that is the case. Great news about your scan! Are you going to find out whether you are having a boy or a girl?

Sammy, Rosebud and Chocolate glad your scans all went well. Busy week for scans!

Good luck today Custard.

Thinking of you too Friends, must have been so terrifying. I hope your scan and appointment go well on Wednesday.

I hope you are feeling better after your GP appointment Blueroses, glad you have people fighting your corner. It must be very stressful, I hope you get some good news re the stitch very soon.

Custardandcream · 19/12/2016 14:40

Ladies thank you so much for your support and good wishes, it really did calm me down a bit (was still a nervous wreck this morning though!) and the bleed did stop yesterday.
The scan went well, we heard the heart beat and she said everything looks fine even measuring a day ahead I'm 7+5 and measuring +6.

Congratulations Stealth

Rose and Sammy great news on your scans

Blueroses sorry you're having to fight for the stitch, hopefully it will get sorted soon.

lucieloos · 19/12/2016 14:56

Ohhh lots of really good news on here!

Rose, so glad your 12 week scan went ok it's always a relief to get that one out of the way! I'm on countdown to 20 week scan now and am nervous about that one as they look at everything in depth.

Sammy, amazing news about the twins. So glad that everything is looking good and hopefully you can relax a bit over Christmas now.

Choc, I was on clexane for a long time and had no problems with harmony at all. I haven't heard of that before. I had mine done at 10 weeks and there was 11% fetal DNA in my blood which is way over what they look for. Hopefully your redraw will be more successful. Glad the scan went well.

Trixie, time does go very, very slowly in the beginning I also found that. Then all of a sudden probably after the relief of the 12 week scan it start speeding up. I've not found that the prednisone masked any of my symptoms unfortunately and I'm still throwing up pretty much every day at 18 weeks although I may have been on a lower dose of pred than you. We aren't going to find out the sex. DH isn't keen and I don't mind either way so we are going for a surprise.

Custard, so so pleased for you! I think bleeds can be quite common especially with IVF but it doesn't make them any less scary. I was terrified when I had mine at 9 weeks. It was such a relief to have the scan and hear the heartbeat.

Nothing much happening here just looking forward to Christmas now and then the dreaded 20 week scan on 3rd Jan! Booked in for NCT classes which start end of Feb and hoping to start pregnancy yoga and possibly aquanatal in the new year!

JustTrixie · 19/12/2016 15:04

Great news Custard!

Will be nice to have a surprise Lucie. Sorry to hear you are still being sick. I'm on 25mg of pred a day, maybe my symptoms will get worse....

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/12/2016 15:25

Custard. Yah. So happy all is well and you see heart. Always amazes me when they saw baby is day/s older /younger due to size as they are so small then

Stealth. Fabulous news. Many congrats. How early was your son? 💙👶🏼💙

lucieloos · 19/12/2016 16:15

Ohh stealth, meant to say huge congratulations on your baby boy! Lovely to have him in time for Christmas!

Trixie, my sickness started from week 6 but not everybody gets it so maybe you will be lucky!

Grumpelstiltskin · 19/12/2016 17:09

Oh hooray, really pleased to hear the rest of the good news today!

Rose thrilled for you that the 12w scan all went well- and how lovely to be able to tell family at Christmas. You so deserve some happy times. Xmas Smile

Sammy great news about the twins' weight and growth. Hope you get to enjoy Xmas now too.

Also fab that you saw the heartbeat custard and that the bleeding has stopped. The early days are so horrendously stressful!

Good luck for everyone else with impending scans and tests.

No news here really. 31w now and have finished work for Christmas, so starting to think about packing a hospital bag and generally getting organised. Have a growth scan on Wed, so hoping to see little Grump swimming happily around in there. Has been a whole 11 weeks since we last saw him/her so looking forward to that! and checking all is well in slightly paranoid way

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 19/12/2016 18:47

Ooh, such a happy thread today Smile

Congratulations Stealth! Squeee! Flowers

And YAY for Baby Custard being ok, you must be so relieved Custard!

Also hurray for Sammy and Rose, I'm so glad all is well.

I have my 7 week scan tomorrow, the point at which it all went wrong last time Sad I'm so nervous, although my symptoms are much stronger this time round, lots of puking, headaches and dizzy spells. Fingers crossed!

Blueroses99 · 19/12/2016 21:20

Blue a babies after infertility thread would be fab! Would love to know how you and the thread babies are getting on and hope to you join you one day.

Pebbles good to see you over here, hope you're ok.

Rosebud that's fantastic news! It'll be a lovely Christmas surprise all round.

Sammy that's wonderful that the twins are growing and everything is looking good.

Chocolate don't know about the Harmony tests, but glad the scan went well.

Custard yay, so pleased for you.

Hedgehog, Grump, Trixie, good luck with your scans this week.

Hi to everyone else!

stealthbanana · 19/12/2016 21:39

Thanks all. I was 38 weeks exactly when I went into labour. No health problems at all with baby, other than the fact that, having started labour naturally, he then didn't want to come out! And he was 8lbs at birth so probably for the best I didn't take him to term...!

What a flurry of good news on this thread today. Long may it continue. Would love to join a babies after infertility thread - and to see the rest of you on there very soon. blue will you do the honours and set it up? (where do you set up those sorts of threads?!)
