Spotting, cramping, "is my clearblue digi accurate?",* viability scans, measuring behind, measuring ahead, high hcg, low hcg, morning sickness, lack of morning sickness, anomaly scans....

That's right, folks, it's the place where scanxiety really means something, where the feeling like you're always going to be on the wrong side of statistics nevers go away, and where moments of sheer terror are par for the course ...it's pregnancy after infertility.

Join if you want to hang out with a supportive group of women across all different stages of pregnancy who can't believe they got here and are hoping like hell its all going to be ok.

Just catching up:

Nurse I'm 11 weeks now. How about you? Was this from IVF?

Grumpel Sounds like you have a little bit of buying to do! The frantic Jan sales shopping sounds stressful Shock

Congratulations Kez and Sara and Trixie!

So pleased to have you 12 week scan went well Rebecca- must be such a big relief. Mine is on the 19th and booking in appointment with midwife is rather late....the 20th! UTI buddies!! I think mines gone- pee smells normal again. Have you been back to the doc to check your ABs have worked?

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your little boy Blue Hope you are recovering well and enjoying baby snuggles.

AFM- my Harmony test has come back inconclusive for the first vial so they are now testing the "back up" vial. Another week to wait. I'm now really worried I'm going to need a redraw which is going to make the wait even longer Sad I am desperate to know the results. So frustrating.

Nurse15 · 09/12/2016 17:49

Rosebud no totally fluke natural conception after one session of reflexology and a vodka filled night at a red hot chilli peppers concert. Not sure which one was more effective!! Lol. Was waiting for surgery to remove septum and still taking my metformin. Still can't quite believe it!! What about you?

icy121 · 09/12/2016 18:16

Blue fan news!! Congrats and hope it's amazing :-) xxx

Hi all Smile
Just checking in..
Manage to get my midwife appointment booked in, 12th January which would make me 11+1, does that sound about right?
As I think I've read you get discharged from the fertility clinic around that time so at least I'm booked in anyway!
5 sleeps till my first scan, can't wait to see if it's all going ok!!

lucieloos · 09/12/2016 20:48

Trixie, everyone I've heard of who has had high nk cells has had the intralipids again on bfp which is what I did the first time around. Hope dfils funeral goes as well as it can.

Rose, so sorry to hear your harmony was inconclusive. I know how agonising that weeks wait was so must be hard to wait longer but I think it can be fairly common so hopefully all will be fine.

Kez, good luck with your first scan. Hope it all goes well.

kezmarie · 09/12/2016 20:49

Thank you lucie.
Any hints or tips as to what I can expect? I'm just hoping for a little tadpole in a bubble with a heartbeat to be honest!

lucieloos · 09/12/2016 21:06

How many weeks will you be kez?

kezmarie · 09/12/2016 21:23

7 weeks lucie xx

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 09/12/2016 21:31

Congratulations blue yay for a thread baby!! Hope you're feeling ok xx

rose that's a bugger about your harmony! It's just an endless waiting game isn't it!!

hello to all the newbies. Great to have some infertility successes. trixie I spotted the day before my bfp and only tested as was convinced our ivf cycle hadn't worked and wanted to arrange a follow up appointment pre holiday so try not to worry - seems to be v normal.

Hope everyone else is ok and got a nice weekend planned xx

Wizziwoo · 09/12/2016 21:50

Just catching up on all the news, it's been a while
Blueroses such amazing news, congratulations!
Sammylou good that the twins are doing well, fx for the rest of your pregnancy.
Congratulations blue on your safe arrival, hope all going well
Best of luck to those waiting on scans and results, so bloody stressful.
AFM I'm 29 weeks now, went to birth options meeting at the hospital as contemplating an elective section. Baby is measuring big and I'd prefer not too be split in two during childbirth, I've been through enough. Basically the midwife tried to scare the shit out of me hitting me with stats about 1 in 200 odd women end up with a hysterectomy and 1 in 12,000 die during the procedure. Like WTF?? I'm looking at my options here and your covering your ass in a typical NHS way. Im sure they try and put you off c sections due to extra cost...fuckersAngry

JustTrixie · 10/12/2016 10:57

Lucie, I already had my post BFP Intralipid so its a case of how many going forward. I think we'll go with the post scan one if all is good then think about retest. My NK cells weren't massively high but would rather be on the safe side.

I do remember Sammy! Reassuring to know that all was OK.

Thanks Chocolate, I had something similar to what i had yesterday a few days before my BFP, hopefully it is just left over from implantation.

Got 2-3 weeks on a CB digi this morning at 4+6 so happy with that.

friends123 · 10/12/2016 18:47

Hi.
Lucie, I thought it was amazing because I could see the baby's ribs, brain etc. I don't think the worry ever goes away. I hate the few seconds when they start to scan and don't say anything!

Huge congratulations Blue!

Rose, I hope the next week goes quick for you, everything just seems like a long waiting game doesn't it.

AFM, I've now got to have a gestational diabetes test at 22 weeks because they found sugar in my urine. Babies head and legs are both measuring 4 days + 2 days ahead too.
I still haven't really told anybody I'm pregnant. However I've had a few congratulations text because my BOSS decided too! Soo mad!!

Blue2014 · 11/12/2016 11:33

Thanks everyone Smile

Stealth and Wizzi - baby blue was huge (i got gestational diabetes at 33 weeks). They booked me for early induction due to size but I ended up having a c section (5 days after induction started and on his due date!)

I wasn't dilating so there is no way he would have come out naturally but I am glad I didn't have to push him out!

C section isn't bad (and mine was really hard work, they couldn't get needles in and it took twice the usual time etc) the only thing I would consider is recovery time. I now can't drive for 6 weeks which completely takes away independence. I'll answer any questions you have.

Hi to everyone else, included newbies. Will catch up properly later Flowers

Blue2014 · 11/12/2016 11:45

By the way Wizzi - I'm really sure the midwives stats are wrong. I'm quite research minded so checked everything before I agreed to it and actually serious problems with epidural and c sections as much more rare than that ( one stat was something like 1 in 820,000)

Grumpelstiltskin · 11/12/2016 11:56

Massive congratulations on your son, blue! Glad everything went as well as possible and you found the CS ok, though a five-day induction doesn't sound.... ideal. Hope you're both settling in and getting used to each other.

Jenbot78 · 11/12/2016 18:38

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. Find it hard to keep up with the thread so apologies for the general waves to everyone! Sounds like people are doing well. Blue congrats on your baby boy, how lovely and just before Christmas! Nice to hear of other recent BFPs!

ATM am feeling massive even though I am 18+3. Had a few nights of waking up starving and some ligament pain and then suddenly I'm enormous. Think I might be feeling something movement-wise but so difficult to tell if it's just wind or not! Still feeling paranoid about all the aches and pains, hoping it's just normal.

Hope everyone is hanging in there...

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 11/12/2016 20:03

Hi folks, can I join? 5+5 after 1 IVF, 1 ICSI and 1 FET (which worked!).

I'm now panicking about my 7 week scan on 20th, as last time that was when we found out we had a blighted ovum Sad

Anyone know if some cramping is normal at this stage? Only mild, but it's really freaking me out Confused

Wizziwoo · 11/12/2016 20:28

Welcome hedgehog congrats on BFP. Yes cramping totally normal in first trimester, as long as no major bleeding.. I had cramping and spotting on and off for several weeks up until early scan so try not to panic, hard I know!
Thanks Blue yes been googling like mad and her stats were definitely off. Are you BFing? Also heard it takes time for milk to come in after section and really hoping to give BFing a try.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/12/2016 20:30

Hedgehog. So lovely to have you back on this thread

I rem your sad loss as we were all implanted around the same time

Congrats and cramping can be normal. If worried try and get a scan done to resssure you x

Blue2014 · 11/12/2016 22:10

Wizzi - yes, am breastfeeding and I've had no problems (no more than any other new mum). I was quite out of it after he was born but that was due to the induction, long labour and being wacked off my face on gas and air (epidural didn't work fully). So on day one the midwives actively helped me (holding my boobs into his mouth)

Currently on day 4, have fed the boy about 12x times today and leaking milk throughout the night - I think we're doing ok on the BF frontWink

Blueroses99 · 11/12/2016 23:14

Welcome Hedgehog. I'm only one day ahead of you at 5+6 today, and I've been having mild cramps too. Hoping you have a better first scan this time.

Welcome Trixie. I had some spotting at around the same point but am reassured that it's not unusual.

Wizzi those stats sound totally out. It's good to know the risks but the equivalent of 0.5% of women needing a hysterectomy seems unlikely.

Blue Smile

Time is going SO SLOWLY for me. I'm impatiently waiting for my first scan on Wednesday.

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 12/12/2016 08:37

Glad you guys are still here! You must have proper bumps by now!

It's good to be back so soon! Still bricking it about the scan, but only 8 days to go.

Thanks Wizzi for the reassurance on the cramping - it's really mild, but every time it happens I panic!

Custardandcream · 12/12/2016 12:59

Hi Kez, Sara,Trixie & Hedgehog

Congratulations Blue

I should hopefully be 6+5 today and I'm not having a scan until next Mon (Blueroses I feel like time has actually stopped) I'm having another wobble today, my sickness disappeared again on Sat and is still not back and yesterday while I was out shopping my back started hurting so much I had to sit down. I'm still getting the occasional twinge now, the combination of disappearing symptoms and back pain is worrying me a bit, not sure I can cope with this for another week!

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/12/2016 13:08

Hedgehog. Bump varies on how madam is positioned 😂

Almost 25w and Had scan today and my daughter 💓 Has turned and is lying on her back with feet in air
