Spotting, cramping, "is my clearblue digi accurate?",* viability scans, measuring behind, measuring ahead, high hcg, low hcg, morning sickness, lack of morning sickness, anomaly scans....

That's right, folks, it's the place where scanxiety really means something, where the feeling like you're always going to be on the wrong side of statistics nevers go away, and where moments of sheer terror are par for the course ...it's pregnancy after infertility.

Join if you want to hang out with a supportive group of women across all different stages of pregnancy who can't believe they got here and are hoping like hell its all going to be ok.

Rosebud so pleased to see you here Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/12/2016 15:00

jenbot,i was told i would have extra scans as geriatric Wink and ivf,and originally 12.20.28,32 36

then they decided every 3 weeks, so roughly 12,20,23(tho also rescanned as bubs wouldnt move for 20w scan), think have one in 2w times, thus being 26w

then tricky over xmas/ny as cinic always on a monday and its shut for bh, so then back on 9th jan think making me almost 29w

Blueroses99 · 04/12/2016 19:11

Rosebud hope the antibiotics are helping the pain. It's good that you got yourself checked, we've got to remember that we can give well meaning advice but we're not doctors!

Grumps sounds like you haven't got long to go now!

Smurfy also not too much longer!

Blondes I can see the extra scans being reassuring and it's great that your cervix is being monitored.

Blueroses99 · 04/12/2016 19:13

Just so you all know normal cervix ranges at various stages of pregnancy.

loopylou1984 · 04/12/2016 19:29

My cervix is 2cm and they said that was normal. This was at a specialist hospital on Thursday. Hmmmmm

Blueroses99 · 04/12/2016 19:47

Must be different for twins Sammy xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/12/2016 19:59

agree possibly diff for twins

and think keeping an eye on me as mine is 3ish and has been from 16w, due to cone biospy

loopylou1984 · 04/12/2016 20:58

Well I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow so I'll ask. Xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/12/2016 22:10

here says average is 3/5cm but if under 2.2 then a stitch may be needed

Sure all is fine sammy but worth mentioning ESP if seeing mw tomorrow - as am I - 24w check?

lucieloos · 04/12/2016 22:27

Sorry I haven't posted for a while.

Sammy, so glad to hear everything went well with the op and things are now improving with the twins.

Boris, huge congratulations on your beautiful baby boy. I saw a little pic on fb he is gorgeous!

Blue, hoping everything kicks off for you soon.

Jen, I'm a week behind you and no movements felt yet. I think it's more common between 18-20 weeks.

Rosebud, hope your uti clears up soon and good luck for the harmony results.

MPP, congrats on your baby boy! That's brilliant news. Think it's quite normal not to be able to get the measurements on the 20w scan. We had the same with the 12w and had to go in and out 3 times.

Blueroses, amazing news on your bfp! So pleased for you.

Not too much news here. I had a relatively good week last week and haven't felt so sick although not been so great this weekend and was sick yesterday and today. I'm 16 weeks today. Got midwife appt on Tuesday and then booked another private scan for Saturday. We are going to take my mum and dad. My mum cried when I asked her! Apart from the couple of days sickness I haven't felt particularly pregnant this past week so I am a little nervous.

In other news for those of you that know trixie from the TTC for 10 months or more thread she got her bfp this evening!!!!

loopylou1984 · 04/12/2016 22:31

Yes blondes 24 week check. Plus I basically live at the hospital these days so they probably would have wanted to see me anyway.

Lucie - hooray for Trixie!!!! Heading over to the old thread now...

loopylou1984 · 04/12/2016 22:40

I just read a medical journal from kings around cervical length and pre term labour. Their concern length seems to be less than 1.5cm (mine was 1.3 before the laser surgery) so they'd be completely happy with 2. Will query tomorrow. Xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/12/2016 23:21

I feel I live at the hospital as there every 3w lol

Sure all will be fine sammy but def mention it to give you peace of mind

RoseBud2016 · 05/12/2016 07:08

Grumpel Can't believe you only have just over 4 weeks left at work! Where has the time gone!? With Christmas keeping you busy baby Grump will be here in no time. Have you made all of your main purchases now?

Jen I am exactly the same. Was so happy after our 10 week scan on Fri, then over the weekend I've had very few symptoms, except dog tiredness, and I started to really worry again! The anxiety is tough isn't it?

Blue How are you doing? Any progress? I really hope so!

Smurfy must feel so good to be into single figures! Less than a quarter to go.

Nurse Hello! Great to hear from you. Are you here too? X

Blueroses I definitely think it was ligament stretching too but I had a niggley feeling that there was more to it.
How are you feeling? Are you having your betas done? Or do you plan to wait for an early scan?

Lucie I was thinking about you the other day wondering if you were ok. Glad things seem to be going well and you don't have long to get another peek at your little baby. X

loopylou1984 · 05/12/2016 11:42

2 little heads together from today's scan. :).

Pregnancy after infertility III
loopylou1984 · 05/12/2016 11:44

They're pleased with progress and will see us again in 2 weeks.
With regard to cervix length they use 15mm as the cut off so mine is fine. They actually said they won't monitor now as they wouldn't stitch at this stage of a twin pregnancy anyway. I feel a bit worried not knowing, but trying to relax as they are clearly not concerned. Xx

Grumpelstiltskin · 05/12/2016 12:47

Oh Sammy that pic is lovely! Great to hear that progress has been good. Of course you'll never not feel anxious, but every day is a step further towards having your babies safely in your arms.

Rose we've only bought a car seat and ordered a buggy so far! Classic nervous procrastination really. Also shotgunned our nephew's old cot once he's outgrown it, so essentially baby Grump will be able to travel, and sleep somewhere (but only after 6 months) so far... There'll be some frantic Jan sales buying I think. Grin

Smurfy1981 · 05/12/2016 13:07

Aw sammy what a lovely pic xx

Custardandcream · 05/12/2016 14:32

Thanks everyone

Congratulations Boris

Kiwi well done on asking about your cervix and glad it was good news

MPP congrats on the boy

Rose glad the scan went well

Sammy lovely pic, hope things have settled down a bit for you now

It's two weeks today until my first scan and I've had a bad weekend with anxiety. I've been feeling sick everyday starting 3 days before my OTD but yesterday morning I didn't (I had had a lie in so not sure if that had an effect) I also woke up in the middle of the night last night and realised my boobs didnt hurt, normally they have been doing. I'll hopefully be 6 weeks on Wed so I know it's really early days but the sudden change in symptoms has thrown me, I think I felt sick earlier today when moving around but I'm not sure if I imagined it! I'm just feeling very worried and probably over analysing everything.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/12/2016 18:38

24w midwife check today. All went well and so lovely to hear bubs galloping heart again and mw could feel where bubs head and spine was

So reassuring to hear heart every few weeks

Custard. All normal after what we have been through

Sammy. Lovely pic and glad all ok with cervix measurements

Nurse15 · 05/12/2016 20:52

Rosebud yes! It's a miracle!! How far along are you?

MPP81 · 05/12/2016 21:13

Evening all

First of all, thanks everyone for your congrats on our boy and your comments about the scan. I'm feeling slightly less stressy about it now, though I am quite impatient to find out when its been rescheduled for. I'm expecting a letter in the next few days, and an appointment some time next week. Blondes, I will def give the orange juice a try! Can't believe you had to go back three times!!

Blueroses hope you're doing ok!

Sammy what a beautiful scan picture! So glad everything seems to be going well :-)

Rosebud Glad to hear you got a doctors appointment, though less pleased that you have a uti. That must suck, and I hope you are ok. Great news on the scan though. Hopefully the wait for the harmony results will go quickly for you!

Grumpel Glad to hear you are doing well! Bet you can't wait to finish work now :-)

Jenbot I have been told that I am high risk because of IVF pregnancy, but apart from being under consultant (which I would have been anyway due to previous c-section) they haven't mentioned anything else like extra scans. It really does seem to differ widely.

Good luck Blue! Hope everything is progressing nicely!

Smurfy Glad to hear you're doing well!

Lucie Glad to hear you're ok, and that the sickness doesn't seem as bad. Awww, I bet it will be fab for your parents to go to the scan with you! Fantastic news about Trixie! I keep an eye in there usually but haven't been on since Friday. I will go congratulate her now!

Custard Its so hard early on. You worry if you have symptoms and you worry if you don't, and its very easy to over-analyse everything. We are here to listen to you. Please try not to worry xx

Blondes Glad the 24 week check went well!

Waves to anyone I've missed!

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 06/12/2016 17:58

sorry guys, lost track of the thread a bit as was feeling properly anxious this last week so banned myself from MN. Had my harmony test yesterday and anxiety temporarily eased as all looking ok. It was at the FMC and they were v thorough and got some great 3d pics so that was lovely.

Hope everyone else is doing ok - will catch up properly tonight but MPP lovely news that you're having a boy! Sammy v glad all is looking good - amazing news. Bluerose lovely to see you back here - I cant imagine what you've been through and tiger, if you're out there, am thinking of you xx

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 07/12/2016 07:38

Sammy great news, and a lovely scan picture.

Thanks Kiwi - I hope mine will be by ultrasound! It should also be less awkward for DH sitting there :)

I'm sorry you're feeling anxious Custard - it's so hard to be rational in this situation. When I had morning sickness, I also had some days when I felt fine, and then had all sorts of thoughts, so it's completely normal.

Lucie that's lovely that you're taking your Mum and Dad.

Hello to everyone else - I hope everyone's week is going well.

loopylou1984 · 07/12/2016 07:54

Genghis - as I understand it they can check the cervix is closed from abdominal ultrasound, but not how long it is. Length has to be a dildocam.

Thank you everyone for all your well wishes.

Blondes - hearing the HB is magical isn't it?

Custard - try not to stress about your symptoms, I too did this. Then the sickness came back with a vengeance and I wondered why I had wasted my good day feeling worried. Scanxiety is real though, all I can suggest is keep yourself busy so the time goes faster. Good luck.

Xx
