Spotting, cramping, "is my clearblue digi accurate?",* viability scans, measuring behind, measuring ahead, high hcg, low hcg, morning sickness, lack of morning sickness, anomaly scans....

That's right, folks, it's the place where scanxiety really means something, where the feeling like you're always going to be on the wrong side of statistics nevers go away, and where moments of sheer terror are par for the course ...it's pregnancy after infertility.

Join if you want to hang out with a supportive group of women across all different stages of pregnancy who can't believe they got here and are hoping like hell its all going to be ok.

Sammy, I hope whatever's happen you're holding up okay. What a horrific shock for you.

I've also been awol for a while. Just started feeling really properly pregnant this week at 25 weeks - sore back, heartburn, bigger bump and a couple of very strong kicks today that made me jump! Of course I've felt pregnant before this but now it feels like it's stepped up a gear.

MPP81 · 24/11/2016 09:59

Bit of a long catch up...

Lucie Brilliant news about your scan! I am due 22nd April so we are about a month apart. I hope you have a fab time with your DH's family, and enjoy sharing your news with them :-) Sorry to hear about the sickness though. Its a shame the tablets didnt work for you. Is there anything else you could try?

Chocolate I'm glad your full report about measurements set your mind at rest. Totally with you on the rabbit hole of worry/stress that feels a bit daft when you come out the other side of it. I'm sorry to hear you had bleeding. That must have been really stressful for you, but glad to hear everything is fine! I hope you are ok!

Friends I've had 'is that wind or is it baby' flutters the last week (18+4) or so. I can't wait for a few good, solid kicks!

Grumpel sorry to hear about the suspected SPD. I hope you're feeling a little better. I'm with you on the weird emotions. I've cried at everything, from I'm a celebrity to which Christmas ornament to buy. Its hard work, and my poor DH is a bit lost, bless him. I've not cried over cinema seats yet, but I wouldnt rule it out!

Rosebud I see you're booked in for the harmony test. Hopefully the next week will pass quickly for you! Congrats on the vomiting! Haha!

Hi Rebecca!! Congratulations! Its lovely to see you here. Your holiday sounds fab, and while it does seem a waste that your DH had to drive when you couldn't drink, I think I would be quite pleased as I really HATE driving abroad. I get much too panicky!! :-) We told most of our immediate family very early because they knew we went to Czech for our treatment, so we had to let them know the outcome, but I would have liked to have kept it to ourselves a bit longer I think. That said, its hard when you want to share your exciting news!

Tiger I hope you're doing ok!

oooh, Kiwi my 20 week scan is the day after yours, on the 2nd, and time is passing sooooo slowly!!! I'm also pretty anxious. Yet another hurdle to jump. Hoping all goes well with yours! Sorry to hear you fainted. That must have been scary and I hope you are ok. Get the badge!!

Jenbot I am so sorry to hear about last Christmas. I hope you have a better one this year xxx

Ghengis Brilliant news on your scan. Glad everything is ok!

Smurfy 30 weeks!! Not long to go now!

Zenzie Glad you're doing ok.

Waves to anyone I missed.

Sammy I have been thinking of you all night since I read your news, and I hope you are ok xxxx

friends123 · 24/11/2016 13:29

Genghis. Congratulations on your scan, will you get anymore on the nhs or is that it now?
Lucie, I'm also thinking about getting another scan! After Christmas seems so far away.

Jen, sorry about your loss last Christmas. Like you I'm definitely beginning to feel/ look pregnant. I'm actually quite surprised.

MPP, not long to your scan now! I bet it's going really slow for you though. I've not felt anything yet, well apart from cramp still. I thought it might be ligaments stretching but sometimes it's further up, more at the top of my bump.( probably didn't help that I walked into a door handle this morning!)
Did your midwife listen to your baby's heartbeat at the 16 week appointment?

Kiwi, I hope your feeling well now, good luck for your scan.

Big wave to everyone else.

MPP81 · 24/11/2016 16:00

Friends sometimes when I move too quickly, I get a pulling sensation at the top of my bump. It doesnt hurt but its really...suprising is the best word I can use I suppose. Its weird! Ouch on the door handle! I bet that wasn't particularly pleasant! The midwife didn't listen to the heartbeat at my 16 week appointment. She told me they don't do that anymore as its hard to find at 16 weeks and they found they were sending too many people for unnecessary scans (and scaring the hell out of them) on the basis that they couldn't find a heartbeat, so now they do them at the 24 week appointment. I've no idea if thats true of everywhere though. DH and I have a doppler which we've used a fair bit (though I'm told midwives frown upon them) and we're pretty sure we've found the heartbeat ourselves, but I'm also aware that it can be difficult to work out whats what in there, so we use it for fun rather than for reassurance though I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel a bit relieved when we find what we think is the heartbeat

RebeccaNoodles · 24/11/2016 16:03

MPP thank you! I'm so pleased to see you as well - nearly 20 weeks, that's amazing! I hope the times flies by until your scan and it will be nice to get it done before Christmas so you can relax and enjoy it.

So sorry to see your news Sammy and I'm hoping and praying that you and your little twins will be OK. Flowers

ellesbellesxxx · 24/11/2016 21:37

Sammy just popping in to say hoping and praying everything is ok with your twins xxx

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/11/2016 21:37

zenzie, i cant wait for the kicks, tho sure i will moan about them like friends did i have flutterings/like popping candy, tho do have bad heartburn, glugs gaviscon

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 24/11/2016 23:49

Lovely to hear from you MPP and nearly 19 weeks already! That's great. I think I mentally tick off every day..

Friends I'm abroad so not with the nhs. I have scans every 2 - 4 weeks...it seems really frequent but I'm definitely not complaining, and am extremely grateful. Ouch at hitting the door handle...I managed to burn my bump with the iron the other week - that also wasn't pleasant :)

Congratulations on the 30 week mark Smurfy, and Zenzie, I'm happy to read that all is going well for you. Enjoy the gaviscon Blondes!

Still thinking of you Sammy, and hello to everyone else! Happy Friday everyone.

sammy thinking of you and hoping everything is alright

blueroses if you are still lurking you are in my thoughts too - I know it was Jovan's due date this week Flowers

Blueroses99 · 25/11/2016 20:22

Thank you stealth, yes still lurking and cheering you all on.

It was Jovan's due date on Monday, and also marked the time that he's been gone longer than he was with us. DH & I went away for a few days just to be by ourselves - this is not where we thought we would be right now 😰

Boris you must be due around now, hope you're doing ok.

Sammy thinking of you and your girls Flowers

Hi to everyone else xx

stealthbanana · 26/11/2016 10:48

blueroses Flowers I hope the time away has been healing and strengthening for you as a couple and you are at peace. I know life is not where it should be right now but Jovan will always be part of you and it's lovely that you are creating the space to remember him. Big hugs lady xxx

boris - yes, any news?! By my not very accurate count you're overdue at this point. Hoping everything is going well for you.

AFM, I'm 35 weeks today. Had a scan on Thursday and my not so little monster apparently already weighs 7lbs Shock. So he's on track to be close to 10lbs at term. Head is also on the 99th percentile. So am now extremely worried about how to get him out! Doctor would like to see me for one more scan in 3 weeks and then I will make a decision about whether to attempt a natural birth or just go for an elective c section. Apparently it is good from a post-birth outcomes perspective to have a big baby, but....,

ImogenH97 · 26/11/2016 11:08

Hey everyone glad to see people in the same boat as me, I got dignoised with endrometrosis and other health problems and got told children is out of the question, I am now 7 weeks pregnant and having the worst pregnancy ever, I don't want to sound ungrateful

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/11/2016 11:52

stealth, wow at 7lbs now, you will def have a big baby

i was told they wont allow me past 40w due to geriatric, ivf, first baby over 40, dvt history

will you be the same, they grow a lb a week roughly after 40w, if leaver you to 42w and induce you may have a 12lber

'blondes runs and hides'

sammy, hope you are ok, we are all here for you as and when xx

loopylou1984 · 26/11/2016 13:33

Hi all, I'm lurking but not feeling up to posting much.
I'm so sad that this has happened to us and that any joy we had dared to feel for this pregnancy has been replaced with terror.

I feel like this is partly my fault for jinxing it by buying things too soon.

Why can't my body do anything right? It couldn't get pregnant and now it doesn't seem to want to keep my babies safe.

Losing these babies would kill me.

Sorry for the negative post.... this is why I haven't been posting. Xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/11/2016 13:37

Post away sammy. This is a place where we all understand how vulnerable you are

Please don't think buying stuff early had anything to do with this condition

I am Assuming that op went well to seperate and now you have to wait 😢

Now think positive thoughts as we will all do for both your babies 💐💓💐💓💐

Much love to you all x

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 26/11/2016 16:50

Just to say I've been thinking of you lots Sammy and it's good to hear from you. It must be terrifying but please don't blame yourself. Keeping everything crossed for you all xxx

mowglik · 26/11/2016 17:00

I don't post here but have been lurking and reading - sammy thinking of you and your twins, hope things go well with the surgery.. Flowers

Zenzie · 26/11/2016 17:33

Sammy, please post as and when you like. No pressure at all. You have lots of support here.

lucieloos · 26/11/2016 19:49

Sammy, that's what we are all here for to support one another so post away. I hope that the op went well. This is in no way your fault.

Borisisback · 26/11/2016 19:51

blueroses I was thinking of you on Monday. Much love to you brave lady Flowers

I'm now overdue but having some on and off again contractions (sadly now more off than on).

Sammy - thinking of you and your girls.

tigerdog · 26/11/2016 21:38

sammy you have all been in my thoughts constantly. None of this is your fault and please post whenever you need.

I can't believe you get scanned so often genghis, such a contrast to the NHS with two scans as standard!

So close boris! Hope things get going soon. Have you tried all the usual suspects - sex, curry, long walk etc?

Hi blue. I am still lurking on the other threads and following your progress. Wishing you luck with this cycle.

Stealth, ouch! That's a big baby you're cooking there! When do you have to decide on the birth options?

chocolate, rose, rebecca how are you all doing?

Waves to everyone else.

I am feeling my anxiety ramp up so much at the moment. Thankfully we have the harmony test including a scan booked for Monday, so it isn't too long to wait. My nausea has really subsided to the odd flash here and there, and I feel pretty normal at the moment. Of course, I'm worrying instead of enjoying it. I keep fearing the worst and my imagination is in overdrive.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 26/11/2016 23:40

Blue Flowers Monday must have been particularly hard for your and your DH.

Post away Sammy, and it's definitely not your fault. Xx

Good luck with the scan and harmony test Tiger, and I'm glad you're feeling better, though I get what you mean about worrying about that - you just can't win!!

How are you feeling Boris? I hope things start happening soon.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/11/2016 16:02

Boris. Good luck when baby Boris comes

Tiger hope all goes with with scan and harmony

Genguis - I also have scans every 3w due to red flagging everything and think has taken 10yrs to get this bubs and says that on my notes , I think theya re taking very good care of me

Another scan tomorrow. Our 3rd 20w one as bubs won't move to back so that they can't measure heart and face - nor do we know if pink or blue so hope tomorrow reveals all

kiwiblue · 27/11/2016 17:09

Sammy I'm thinking of you, your DH and your twins. Please post if you want to, you are in all our thoughts x

Blueroses you've been in my thoughts, I hope you and your DH are doing OK. Hugs

Blonde good luck for scan tomorrow.

Tiger good luck for scan and harmony test. My symptoms also came and went a lot, so try not to worry (easier said than done I know!)

MPP and friends thank you, I'm feeling fine since the fainting episode. I did get the badge and have been wearing it, although it makes me feel self conscious!

Friends my midwife also didn't listen for heartbeat at 16w appointment, she said same as MPP's, that often don't hear it which just causes anxiety.

MPP I think you're due just a few days after me! Good luck for your scan on Friday. I'm still quite anxious about mine on Thursday.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

RebeccaNoodles · 27/11/2016 18:08

Sorry to hear about the anxious feelings tiger. Hope the Harmony results and scan help alleviate that a bit. I had bloods drawn for the Harmony (or SAFE which is equivalent) on Friday so fingers crossed for that. The scan also really helped. You're getting closer all the time.

Blondes good luck for your scan tomorrow, and Boris, hope things get moving for you soon.

Thinking of you Sammy Flowers

The fatigue has hit me this weekend like a brick wall. It honestly feels like I have the flu or have been drugged. Went for half-hour walk on Friday and felt like I'd climbed the Matterhorn. Climbed the steps to our flat and was gasping like I'd been for a run. I'm not complaining - feeling very lucky - but, um, when will this end??? I'm 10+4 I think (too tired to count the days). Has anyone else had this and when did it get better?! Sorry for the moan ...

PS kiwi wear the badge with pride - you earned it!

waves feebly to everyone else.
