Spotting, cramping, "is my clearblue digi accurate?",* viability scans, measuring behind, measuring ahead, high hcg, low hcg, morning sickness, lack of morning sickness, anomaly scans....

That's right, folks, it's the place where scanxiety really means something, where the feeling like you're always going to be on the wrong side of statistics nevers go away, and where moments of sheer terror are par for the course ...it's pregnancy after infertility.

Join if you want to hang out with a supportive group of women across all different stages of pregnancy who can't believe they got here and are hoping like hell its all going to be ok.

Good luck for your scan, genghis! How many weeks are you now?

Rose brilliant to hear you're having plenty of symptoms! I can well imagine there's something really quite satisfying about a decent bit of morning sickness- speaking as someone who felt mostly fine and therefore panicked for 12 weeks! Hope you don't feel too rotten though.

Oh kiwi poor you, that sounds horrific. Definitely get the badge. I've been wearing mine since about 14w and despite being on the bearpit that is SW trains people have been surprisingly lovely about giving me a seat. I don't tend to ask as haven't often minded standing till now as long as I'm not getting squished, but there's usually an offer anyway. Had restored my faith in Londoners until your story!

Chocolate I'm pleased you had a good booking-in and that things seem to be settling down for you. Thanks for your good wishes, I'm feeling quite a lot of movement at this point (27w) which is lovely, if verging slightly on the uncomfortable at times. Think this one is quite a busy baby! I'd say I first felt movements around 19w with proper poking and kicking from 23w or so. It's amazing to think it started off as a tiny frozen blast and is now an actual person with flailing fists and feet. Smile

Jen sorry to hear about last year's Christmas. Joining all the others in wishing you only good things for this one.

Welcome Rebecca I remember your name from the boards- lovely to see you here too.

to everyone else.
No news here, though think hormones are kicking in. I cried yesterday as we got to the cinema a bit late and had to sit in the front row, which I hate. Actual tears. Confused DH silently went and got me a large popcorn.

Hope you all have a good week.

kiwiblue · 21/11/2016 09:26

genghis good luck for today!

Rose congrats on the spew Grin. I never did actually throw up, and think I may have felt temporarily better if I did!

Grumpel amazing about the movements. I'm 19w now and haven't felt anything but then I don't know what I'm supposed to be feeling. I'm definitely feeling weird things but more stretchy pains?! Can't wait to feel something. Haha re cinema - I think that's really common to be emotional. I cried in Planet Earth 2 (penguins) and almost cried when I nearly fell over yesterday.

Thanks everyone re the fainting and grumpel good to hear the Londoners are nice when you have a badge. It was a half hour train trip out of London and I thought I'd be fine to stand. Chocolate I've never fainted before so didn't realise what it was at first but I started feeling really sick, then got really hot, then everything went black. I knelt down on the floor, so maybe everyone just thought I was weird and ignored me Grin. Definitely everyone do not try to stand on train journeys!

lucieloos · 21/11/2016 22:55

Noodles, congratulations! Brilliant to see you on here and well done with the scan.

Rose, any news from the midwife yet? Congrats on the preggo vomiting Grin

Kiwi, good luck for the 20 week scan not too much longer to wait now.

Choc, I just went with harmony test as it was the cheapest in my area. I figured the degree of accuracy between them all was so small I would just go with the most affordable.

Ghengis, hope your scan went well today!

Not much happening here. I'm just over 14 weeks now and still feeling nauseous and throwing up here and there. It's really not much fun anymore. The tablets didn't do a lot for me so I haven't been to the doctors to get anymore. I have my 20 week scan just after New Years but debating whether to get another private one around 16-17 weeks to break up the wait a bit.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 22/11/2016 03:37

Grumple I hope the popcorn cheered you up! I'm 22 weeks exactly today.

Lucie I'm sorry to read that the tablets didn't help. Fx you'll start feeling better soon. How many scans are you entitled to through the nhs? I totally get wanting to break up the wait.

Thanks for the scan good wishes - all was well, and he's still measuring a week ahead.

lucieloos · 22/11/2016 06:52

Thanks Ghengis we get just the usual 12 week scan which we've had and then the next is 20 weeks. Really pleased to hear yours went well. I'm measuring nearly a week ahead too!

tigerdog · 22/11/2016 08:16

Morning everyone, hope you all had good weekends. Mine was pretty quiet, still taking it fairly easy although the spotting has pretty much cleared up.

Glad your scan went well ghengis!

Hi rebecca, I'm also around 9 weeks (9+3 today) following a FET. I'm now in my local NHS system and apparently treated like any other pregnant person. That seems weird after all the IVF intervention.

Oh kiwi, fainting sounds scary. Hope you're ok and definitely time to get that badge! Unfortunately I can well believe that no one helped you - I fainted on the tube once and people just stepped over me. How's the sciatica? My sister had it in pregnancy and I remember her really suffering. Pregnancy yoga might be worth a try. It's lucky you can carry on doing Pilates - my studio bans all preggos until they can go to the pregnancy classes at 14 weeks so I've been unable to go and at a loose end - I used to go 2-3 times a week and I miss it.

sammy how are you doing?

chocolate I think we're going to have the harmony as it is provided by my preferred clinic - convenience and knowing the ladies that scan are my main decision factors. Have finally persuaded DH about the Harmony as initially he just wanted to go with the NHS tests, but I said that it would be too much to have to wait until 16 weeks to find out the results of the tests, and I think he realised that I would spend the whole time stressing and has conceded.

It's hard not to wish the time away isn't it friends, I am on a countdown to Christmas as hopefully things will feel a bit more real by then. I also can't see myself telling many people. I haven't told my parents yet, they are quite hard work and also insist on posting everything on social media so I will have to expressly tell them that I am NOT up for them broadcasting the news, and they'll probably get offended as they wont understand why I'm so sensitive about it.

Sorry you're still feeling sick lucy and fingers crossed it improves soon! We also only get two scans on the NHS - doesn't seem like much after being so used to constant monitoring!

Nice work on the vomming rose! I've avoided it so far thankfully but it must be quite reassuring! My main issue is forcing myself to eat through the nausea. Once I do, I fee much better.

Definitely sending you good wishes for the best Christmas present ever jen.

Not much happening here, just finding that time is going so very slowly. Think we will do the harmony next Monday when I'm 10+2. Feeling positive one minute and nervous the next, and trying not to let my imagination run away with itself into a dark place.

I definitely have a bit of a gut at the moment. I suspect it's more to do with, ahem, 'digestive issues' than anything else but it's definitely noticeable. I usually wear a lot of slim fit trousers for work but I'm struggling to do them up! Had to wear a dress that flares at the waist today to hide it, but it's too bloody tight on the boobs now, so they are looking rather squashed. Had to wake DH up before I left to do a boob inspection and tell me if they looked too squished! He said no but I'm still not convinced!

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 22/11/2016 11:00

Genghis excellent news on the scan! Its always such a relief when everything is ok and fab you're measuring ahead too

Grumpel must be so lovely feeling movement and made me smile re the cinema - sounds like your OH knows exactly what to do!! Did you see anything good?? We're being v antisocial at the moment as don't want to tell anyone so cinema sounds good.

Lucie rubbish you're still sick and the tablets didn't work - hope it eases off a bit soon for you

Kiwi hope you haven't had any further fainting!

Tiger - yup, time is definitely on a go slow although not long til your harmony test - that feels like a big milestone in my head. I'm with you on the boobs and belly - someone remarked today that my boobs look big (close friend so not an inappropriate HR worthy comment!). Glad the spotting has stopped too.

Waves to everyone else!!

AFM, suddenly feeling anxious again and counting down til next scan. Spotting pretty much stopped after a day but then I was sure it was starting again yesterday as had a couple of pin pricks of red blood which meant I kept waking up in the night to check. Its basically a never ending loo roll inspection right now....

Thanks for peeps getting back to me on harmony and panorama - think we'll go with harmony (touching wood that we get that far) as more clinics seem to do it. I know panorama covers microdeletions but no idea what that really is/means etc so going to not obsess about that (yet).

Have a good Tuesday.....

kiwiblue · 22/11/2016 12:36

genghis glad your scan went well!

Chocolate sorry to hear you had a tiny bit more spotting, must be so worrying. Hope it's stopped now!

Thanks tiger. I can't believe people stepped over you, that's shocking!!! Re sciatica it is OK at the moment. I didn't learn anything specific to that at my group hospital physio but did learn a lot about how to turn over in bed that will be helpful later on! I think the fact my gym lets me carry on with pilates etc is because most of the instructors are very ignorant about exercise in pregnancy. Only some are trained. I'm trying to decide whether to carry on with the ones who are, or go to specific pregnancy yoga. I feel quite self conscious as usually the only pregnant person in the class. Re the NHS tests and only finding out at 16 weeks, I found out the results of the trisomy tests the day of 12 week scan- are you referring to other tests?

Hope everyone is doing well and having a good day.

loopylou1984 · 22/11/2016 13:44

Hi all, sorry I've been MIA. I have been reading and will do a catch up another time.

Things are not so good here. I've been having back pain for about three weeks and for the last couple of days a really bad pain at the top of my bump.
We went to maternity triage on Sunday night who diagnosed either heartburn or gallbladder infection.
Monday morning I had my 22 week scan and all hell broke loose. Twin 2 has hardly any fluid and is smaller than twin 1. Fast forward to now and I'm waiting for laser surgery at kings college in London to try to save our babies. It is high risk, particularly for twin 2 but if we do nothing the chances are I'll go in to labour in the next couple of weeks and lose them both anyway.
DH and I are terrified.

It's TTTS if anyone wants to Google.

Didn't want you all to think I was ignoring you.

tigerdog · 22/11/2016 14:44

Oh my goodness sammy, I don't know what to say. I'm so so sorry to hear what you've been going through. I'm sending you all the love, strength and positive vibes I have, and will be thinking if you and your babies. I have everything crossed for you all xxx

lucieloos · 22/11/2016 15:09

Oh Sammy I am so sorry to hear this it must be terrifying for you. I'm praying that everything goes well for you and your babies they can do amazing things nowadays. Please keep us posted if you can. I have been thinking of you xx

loopylou1984 · 22/11/2016 15:38

Thank you both. I feel like I'm watching it all happen to someone else tbh. We've been waiting since 10 to 12 and I'm getting more and more nervous. Will update when I can. Xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/11/2016 15:41

SORRy lost thread and just found

Sammy what an awful time you must be having and very scary. Think they had ttts on that BBC mums programme - both her twins were fine - tho know that to and yours is real life

I'm surprised they've just picked it up as rem your other scans were all ok (you are same time as me)

The op they mention gives both twins the best of chance and sadly without it one is more then likely not to survive - I hate writing that - but know you would have been told this 💐💐💐

Thinking of you all xxx

Chocolate sorry for spotting and hope all ok now

On phone so can't name check easily but to whoever fainted hope you are ok now

And all newbies entering the 2nd trimester seems ages away but does go quick

Harmony seem to be more well known but think they are the same thing - but like Cadbury and galaxy iyswim

Boris - my placenta is low posterior and covering my cervix at mo and if doesn't move I will def need a cs

Also I'm slightly plump so wondered if I will take longer to feel kicks as nothing yet and almost 22w

friends123 · 22/11/2016 17:18

Oh goodness Sammy. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. There's simply no words but I just want you to know we will be thinking about you! Love and positive thoughts for you, Dh and your beautiful babies xx

RoseBud2016 · 22/11/2016 17:24

Sammy I am so so sorry to hear what you and your DH are going through. I am wishing you and your twins all the best for the coming days. I pray with all my might that all will be ok Flowers x

Grumpelstiltskin · 22/11/2016 18:54

Sammy so, so sorry to hear this- how absolutely terrifying. I'm sure you're in the best possible place and best possible hands but sending lots of love and wishing you strength. Hope that knowing we're all thinking of you gives you a small crumb of comfort. FlowersFlowersFlowers

stealthbanana · 22/11/2016 19:44

Sammy I'm so sorry you have to go through this, how immensely unfair. I hope the op goes smoothly and you have plenty of support for you both. Lots of love to your little family.
