Spotting, cramping, "is my clearblue digi accurate?",* viability scans, measuring behind, measuring ahead, high hcg, low hcg, morning sickness, lack of morning sickness, anomaly scans....

That's right, folks, it's the place where scanxiety really means something, where the feeling like you're always going to be on the wrong side of statistics nevers go away, and where moments of sheer terror are par for the course ...it's pregnancy after infertility.

Join if you want to hang out with a supportive group of women across all different stages of pregnancy who can't believe they got here and are hoping like hell its all going to be ok.

Syringe it in 1-2ml syringes. Same syringe can be used for the day if try 2/3 time a day but put in fridge inbetween

Then pop in bag. Mark date and freeze

friends123 · 14/11/2016 10:16

Thanks stealth & glasshalfsomething. That's very reassuring, there's no big gush, just a constant dampness. (sorry tmi) I will mention it to the mw next appointment.

Blondes. That's good that they will check you. I think I probably won't get examined because I'm apparently really low risk. I'm planning on having another private scan, they docoffer a cervix check has an extra so I might just get it done. Do you have an internal to check yours?
Have a good week everyone.

Blondes.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2016 13:12

hi yes they checked today, prob will at every scan they said, just to make sure all ok

yes dildo cam, as i call it Grin tho also had normal scan

friends123 · 14/11/2016 14:41

Fab news Blondes, I take you get a few extra scans then.

I'm just had my results back for the downs and trisomy testing and they've come back low risk. Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2016 15:05

GLAD low risk and yes extra scans. Every 3w they want to keep an eye on me as ivf and over 40

Bubs didn't play ball as wouldn't move (chilled baby) so need to go back Thursday to measure 4chambers and gender if possible

tigerdog · 14/11/2016 16:48

All this talk of leakages...so much to look forward to (hopefully).

My clinic prescribe the pessaries rectally stealth but I'm still no closer to dtd!

That's a lot of scans blonde. Good to be closely monitored plus lots of opportunity to see what's going on.

Hope those feeling nauseous have had some respite - mine went on Saturday morning and apart from the odd flash I've felt pretty good. Of course I spent most of today agonising about why I feel less pregnant!

RoseBud2016 · 14/11/2016 17:35

Thanks for all your input on DTD everyone. I think I might be brave and try next weekend as DH and I are away on a little trip so should be nice and chilled.

To people doing the pessaries rectally- I've tried to do it this way once but really struggle to push them in Blush What am I doing wrong?

friend Congrats on your results! That's great news.

Tiger Funny you should say that cos I've also not been feeling anywhere near as nauseous for the last few days. Cue panic and mad googling! It's all so stressful. Confused Am I getting pressure low down in my abdomen though which I assume is stretching sensations. Has your bleeding stopped now?

RoseBud2016 · 14/11/2016 17:35

*I am

tigerdog · 14/11/2016 17:42

You need to really poke them up there rose! Leakage from the back door is a misery otherwise. My bumholio is angry though, will be glad when I can stop the fuckers!! I'm still spotting but it's more dark sludge than red blood now thankfully. It's all such a head fuck. I keep reading stealth's opening post to remind myself that everyone has been though this and it all seems to be normal, whatever that is!

Just got to my hotel room and looked in the mirror - my boobs are trying to bust out of my bra!

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 14/11/2016 18:37

Good news on the results friends and stealth the boob leakage must have been a shocker the first time!! When are you finishing work?

rose definitely agree that back door is best. Not pleasant but so much less mess. High five if you manage bed action!

My stress today has been due to scan pics. Had them emailed through and noticed that although Crl measurement is spot on, sac is behind so spent the day obsessively googling. Consultant's report doesn't say anything and suggests all is good so trying to roll with it but feeling quite down about the relentless worry. Even a stresso pregnant person would only start worrying once they get a positive test. Ivf stress starts months before that and it's just one long roller coaster. Wish I had the gestation period of a mouse!!

lucieloos · 15/11/2016 08:14

Blondes, glad your scan went well

Friends, brilliant news on the trisomy testing its such a relief when they come back low risk.

Choc, I'm sure the consultant would have said something if there was anything to worry about. I don't think I've ever had the sac measured.

I've got my 12 week scan this morning so another ball of nerves even though I've had 3 other scans and harmony test. It's been 2.5 weeks since our last scan and I keep thinking what if something has gone wrong in that time. I just want it to go well today and then maybe we can relax a little and start thinking about telling people.

tigerdog · 15/11/2016 09:48

Good luck lucie. I can totally relate to your fears as I'm the same. Hope it goes well.

MPP81 · 15/11/2016 10:50

Good morning all! :-)

Sammy, sorry to hear about the bad back! I don't have anything to advise I'm afraid, though you've had a few suggestions which I hope are helpful for you. I notice you said about pregnancy exercise classes. I've joined an aqua natal class in my local centre and its fab. I've found its really helped with some ligament pains I was having, and I feel so much lighter in the water. Maybe worth seeing if there's anything like that where you are?

Chocolate, echoing the others, I don't think the measurements are too much to worry about at this stage as baby is so teeny tiny! I can totally understand the need to analyze every little thing, as I'm sure most of us can, but please try not to worry too much. I'm sure they would have mentioned it if it was a concern, but its easier said than done to let it go, I know. Hope you're ok.

Rosebud, DH and I dtd very very cautiously a few days after the viability scan I think, but it wasn't the nicest due to the progesterone. We didn't try again til after they'd finished but we are mostly back to normal (if a little cautious still) now at 17 weeks.

Sunrise, fab news on telling your DH. I hope you are ok :-)

Lucie, good luck for your scan today! I think no matter how many scans we have, we'll still feel nervous! Everything crossed for you, as usual! Keep us posted!

Tiger, I'm sorry your doctor wasn't very nice. What is wrong with some people that they can't have just a touch of kindness and reassurance about them in these situations??

Jenbot, I was still in my normal clothes at 14 weeks also, but could notice a difference in myself. My clothes have just become unwearable this week (due to discomfort rather than size). Sorry to hear the blood testing is so frustrating for you.

Stealth, hope you're doing ok and not doing too much! I giggled at your DH and his sieve comments!

Blondes, I hope the scan went well!

Friends, I have had the same a few times too. I don't think its anything to worry about but its always worth checking, even if only to set your mind at rest. Glad to hear your blood results were all good :-)

Hi to anyone I've missed and hope everyone else is ok :-)

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/11/2016 11:35

Lucie

Good luck with scan today

lucieloos · 15/11/2016 13:37

Thanks everyone the scan went well although such a naughty baby we had to go in and out 3 times as it was wriggling so much and doing handstands and in every position apart from the one she needed! I'm still measuring 5 days ahead so am now officially 13w2d instead of 12w4d and my due date has been put forward to 21st may from 25th. She eventually managed to measure the nuchal which was 1.8mm so all good. Got a consultant appt booked in for 16 weeks for them to assess if I'm to be midwife or consultant led and then 20 week scan on 3rd Jan! Such a relief to get all that done and we can now start to tell people!

RoseBud2016 · 15/11/2016 13:42

That is such fantastic news Lucie Huge congratulations! And so nice to be officially put 4 days ahead too.

Have you got any ideas about how you will your family? Or are you planning to keep it low key?
I fantasise about the day we can tell people we have happy news. So pleased for you x

Chocolate is it worth speaking to your clinic to ask about the measurement worries? I'm sure it's nothing but just to put your mind at rest?
P.s So how long does a mouse take to make a baby mouse?

RoseBud2016 · 15/11/2016 13:46

Tiger You are so right about reading Stealths thread opener- we are all experiencing the "normal" worries of an infertile pregnant woman. Sometimes it's hard to remember that.

lucieloos · 15/11/2016 13:49

Thanks rose it really is such a relief! My family know anyway as I told them ages ago about the whole IVF process as needed extra support but will message a few friends tonight and then we are going to stay with dhs family in a week or so as they live a couple of hours away and they have no idea about anything so that will be nice. Also got to tell work soon as well especially as I'm further along than I thought. Not sure how much longer the bump will stay under wraps!

friends123 · 15/11/2016 15:36

Yay Lucie! Fantastic news! We're due similar times, my due date is the 16th May.
Great stuff about such a low Nuchal too.

Tiger & Rose. I literally had one afternoon of nausea and that's all. I remember being so panicked, especially when I kept reading nausea was a sign of an healthy pregnancy. I think it's getting me back now because my headaches are horrendous.

Chocolate. I know it's hard, but try to be positive. I know that's easier said than done! It's just a constant cycle and Google doesn't help does it.

MPP. Thanks! It's good to know others have experienced it. You're doing alot better than me, I've got no energy at all. I went for a walk today with the dog and I was so out of breath. I'm normally quite fit as well. I will have to try swimming.

stealthbanana · 15/11/2016 18:33

Wonderful news lucie

And Flowers to all those experiencing infertility prego stress. It never really goes away (the world of reduced movement is a whole new barrel of laughs Confused) but it definitely gets easier after the first 12 weeks. Chin up & remember it's ok to give into the crazy all the from time to time.

Great news lucie - so pleased.

Waves to everyone else :)

tigerdog · 15/11/2016 19:49

Great news lucie! Another hurdle cleared.

Back to feeling rough today, blurgh!

How long after contacting the GP or midwives did you have your booking in appointment and get the scan date through? Just wondering when I'll hear from them after my GP referred me last Thursday.

SecondSunrise · 15/11/2016 20:37

Great news Lucieloos!
Tiger you made me laugh about the old "arse bullets". Very busy at work this week, which is good for distraction but tiring!

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/11/2016 20:48

Glad all good lucie

Borisisback · 15/11/2016 20:58

Tiger my booking in appointment was at 9 weeks and my scan at 12. I think that's a fairly normal pattern. Hope you hear soon.
