Spotting, cramping, "is my clearblue digi accurate?",* viability scans, measuring behind, measuring ahead, high hcg, low hcg, morning sickness, lack of morning sickness, anomaly scans....

That's right, folks, it's the place where scanxiety really means something, where the feeling like you're always going to be on the wrong side of statistics nevers go away, and where moments of sheer terror are par for the course ...it's pregnancy after infertility.

Join if you want to hang out with a supportive group of women across all different stages of pregnancy who can't believe they got here and are hoping like hell its all going to be ok.

Thanks Rose so relieved!!

loopylou1984 · 07/11/2016 17:48

Lucie - I'm so glad your tests came back with good results. Ours were 1 in 5000 as that's the best they can give you with twins!

Tiger - good luck for your scan, what time is it?

Our scan went well, although it seems I have two naughty/camera shy babies. Everything she was able to see/measure looked fine and they're still growing evenly. She couldn't get brain pics for twin 2 at all and only 1 for twin 1 as they had their heads so close together! We have to get those checked at our next scan in two weeks.
Also got our appointment for a detailed heart scan (another twin thing) which is Wednesday morning in London! I'm barely in work these days!!! Xx

Thanks kiwi and mpp. Fab news Sammy!

tigerdog · 07/11/2016 20:33

Great news all round!

My scan was at 6pm and we saw our embryo and heard the heart beat. Measuring spot on for 7w2d. Such a relief that we're over another hurdle even if there is a long way to go.

lucieloos · 07/11/2016 20:39

Aww brilliant news on here today! Congratulations tiger getting the first scan done is such a relief.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 07/11/2016 23:07

Hooray! Great news Tiger, Sammy and Lucie! I also had a check up scan today, and all is looking well. We also got our harmony test results (or whatever it's called here) back and they all came back negative so that was an added relief. I have the anomaly scan in two weeks though my obstetrician checked the baby's heart today and it looked normal.

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 08/11/2016 03:19

Awesome news everyone - so nice that it's all so positive xxx

Hello, some really positive news on this thread which is lovely to see. I joined an earlier thread as I had a surprise natural pregnancy in April, after MC/failed IVF/8 years TTC etc. Unfortunately that ended at 10 weeks due to a blighted ovum.

I had another positive test on Sunday which I still can't get my head around (haven't even told DH yet Sad) so am just cowering in the corner if that's ok. I didn't feel happy when the test came up positive, just thought "oh shit". I have one DC from infertility treatment. This will be pregnancy number 5.

Fantastic news, Tiger! That must be such a relief for you!

Ghengis Brilliant news for you too!

Welcome Sunrise and whispered congrats. Sorry to hear you've had such a sad journey, but I have everything crossed for you.

RoseBud2016 · 08/11/2016 13:02

Aww- I love all the great news on here at the moment!

Congratulations Tiger! I really hope I can join you in the next couple of days

And great news on your scans Sammy and Genghis

Elle Lovely news about your twins! I think I remember you from the PCOS thread years ago!? Did you conceive through IVF? One or two embryos?

AFM- I feel so hungover even though I'm clearly not! Is it a 'normal' symptom? I honestly feel like death today Confused

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/11/2016 13:14

I SUffer from hg and I decribe it as a hangover without the headache

Constant nausea - sickness - queasy - stomach churning - and like a monkey has shat in my mouth

If you have those go and see gp. Get anti sickness drugs - I'm
On cyczline and a big improvement

RoseBud2016 · 08/11/2016 21:32

Thanks Blondes That sounds truly horrific! Flowers

I've been queasy for a couple of weeks now but in the last few days it's developed into strong nausea in the early mornings and late evenings. I have to really focus to stop myself from vomiting. Have been successful so far.

The hangover feeling is a really severe headache that just won't go away, a constant and extreme thirst, and a lightheaded feeling- like I'm in a thick fog.

I'll keep a track of things and see how I go. I still don't know if there's anything happening in there- the fear is that this is all in my head. Sad

stealthbanana · 08/11/2016 22:27

Agree with blonde description. Sorry you're suffering rose. Go and get the drugs, they are safe and they do help. And drink lots of water. I found that flat water made me feel sick so I drank litres of fizzy water instead.

Hopefully it clears up for you soon. Not long til your next scan now!

I have it mild compare to many. Feel bad enough with that. Christ knows how severe hg cope

And at 20w tom sickness is a lot better as is the nausea. Tho still eat little and often. Empty stomach is worse

Def get medication. And do try to drink. Headache may be due to dehydration

tigerdog · 09/11/2016 13:17

The last 24 hours have been somewhat traumatic! I should preface my update by saying I had another scan this morning and all was ok but omfg, I was petrified!

I was walking down the road near work yesterday lunchtime when I felt a sudden 'gush'. Reached under my coat to check it and my hand came back covered in blood. Rushed into the office and into the loo. I was leaving a trail of blood on the floor at this point and I could literally feel it pouring out. Cue utter panic. Had to stay there for about 10 minutes until it slowed but I didn't know what the hell to do and worse - I was 100 miles from home at a project site. A colleague kindly took me to A&E where they were very nice but ineffective. No scanning facilities and nearest place an hour away because it's a fairly rural area. They didn't want to let me go without being properly checked, so they transferred me by ambulance to the other hospital where they had agreed to scan me. Only it took so bloody long to arrange, that when I got there it was too late to be scanned, and no out of hours facilities! FFS! Gynae doc checked internally and said they thought it didn't look like a miscarriage but only a scan could confirm (no shit Sherlock!).

My boss was with me by that point and he drove me part of the way home as my husband drove the rest of the way to get me. Got home at 10pm still non the wiser. Called Local EPU this morning - GP referral only and no scan slots until Friday but thankfully the lovely private scanning place squeezed me in straight away and confirmed all ok. Heartbeat strong and even a few mm growth so measuring just right. Phew!!

I now have a larger area of bleeding internally so the advice is to stop the fragmin/asprin and rest as much as possible.

Luckily I was able to remain fairly calm as I had had a scan only the day before - if I hadn't then I would have thought it was all over for certain. Still feel done in by the whole experience though. I'm not working today and I'm spending the day in bed recovering!

I hear you on the feeling hungover - just a general grotty and nauseous feeling. Also gone off almost all food. The only things I want to eat are crisps and toast, plus I keep thinking that I'd really like a dirty sausage roll from Greggs - I don't eat wheat and I wouldn't normally touch one with a barge pole!

Hope everyone else is ok and has had an uneventful day or two.

RoseBud2016 · 09/11/2016 15:16

OMG Tiger that all sounds so so traumatic! I'm so sorry that you went through that- but so pleased to hear that your little embie is still going strong. Do they think it's a SCH? I had one with my last pregnancy (I had already had a MMC at that point so it didn't impact on my pregnancy) and I had quite a lot of bleeding with that.
As you say your bleeding could have been made worse by the aspirin having thinned your blood, so glad they have taken you off of that for the time being! Have you been signed off work? I'd be tempted to stay off for at least a few days I think. Take care of yourself lovely- you have been through so much in the last few days.

So funny you should mention Greggs sausage rolls- I am completely off meat..... wont touch it or go near it at all..... But I'll eat a Greggs sausage roll no problem! Blush I'm glad I'm not the only one! Grin

ellesbellesxxx · 09/11/2016 16:28

Really glad you are ok Tiger, that must have been really frightening Sad xxxxx
