I'm 38 weeks tomorrow and becoming very impatient to meet my little girl. Anyone else at the same gestation as I am?

If they check how dilated you are - can you ask demand a sweep while they are it?

I barely slept a wink last night.....thank you spd but luckily DH has a week of annual leave this week, so after getting up with DD at the crack of dawn, he sent me back to bed for a few hours and I've just woken up. Sorry if TMI, but I've done a rather loose poo, and have weird-looking discharge. I don't think it's a show, but it's thicker and whiter than usual and there is a lot more of it

Came home, had a sleep and a pizza. Now waiting for you guys to pop too :)

I think I remember you commenting really kindly on my very first (incredibly panicked) "fuck I think I'm pregnant and I have no idea how to cope" thread all those months ago so it's nice to see you again as we get to the end of it and i still don't know how to cope!

38 weeks now. I had a teeeeeensy bit of blood appear yesterday and I'm about 2cm dilated and having irregular contractions. So something's definitely happening but I'm well aware that it could still be a while so trying not to get my hopes up...

Glad you are home now with baby proper tea! Can't wait to bring my little baby home too!

have a sweep booked for this afternoon - I really hope it kicks things off or at least they tell me that I somehow have made it to 4cms lol. Wish me luck!

I had an exam late last week, my OB said I'm starting to dilate- around 1-1.5cm- so I...erm...checked on progress myself over the weekend.

I don't actually know what a "sweep" is- what does it involve?

Oh no fresh - cervix pain or contraction pain? Hope it was all for something and it kicks off now.

Squtter like an exam but they try to separate the membranes from the amniotic sac in the attempt to kick start labour. I've never had one myself so will tell you more after my appointment. They call it membrane sweep on the NHS website.

Just back from my appointment - they couldn't even do a sweep as I was only 1/2 cm dilated. At least cervix is soft and effaced

I had more bloody show when it was first done but nothing now. Lower back ache and perhaps one really bad pain an hour in lower abdomen. Then stabbing with every step I take.

This pregnancy bollocks is starting to grate now.
Currently having the worst attack of SPD pain that I've felt so far it's all on my right side - left side feels perfectly normal, no pain whatsoever! Yhe right side of my pelvis feels like it's been smashed with a sledgehammer

41 weeks now. Sweep booked for Wed. I had 6 equally-spaced contractions earlier today then it all stopped. I am royally fucked off.

And yes to ignoring calls and texts. People are cracking jokes at my expense now. My sense of humour went days ago....
